Is it me or do these pictures look more like cartoons than 'realistic' portrayals of players and such.
I still think that PES6 on the PS2 looks more realistic than on the 360.
The 360 version just looks a bit..... glossy.

waitings were finally perhaps a little too important live with ves first appearance pes on ps3. free of défaults major, but not therefore bluffant, the unit leaves a feeling of unfinished so much

EDIT: A little translation i found:
They played it on x360. You have to press and hold the shoulder buttons and with left trigger you can make a dive. Almost everytime they got yellow card but managed to do it in penalty area to get a penalty (if referee cant see it). A manager of konami said, they want to see how the fans like it. They will remove it next year if they dont like it. Then they talk about freekicks. As already said you can choose how many players will be in the wall. Freekicks, headers and shots are harder. If you pass to a player and he shoots directly from running, the shot will be very hard. There a new animations, e.g jumping tackling/straddle (dont know how to translate, hope you understand). The version they played had data from last season (with old trikots) because konami tries to get more and more licenses. They couldnt tell about new feature team-vision because they didnt notice anything of it on 3hour play.
The diving sounds cool then! as does the pass to shot plan!

looks all good the diving sound quite tastey, this pro evo has a feel good factor about it, we kno what is like and some of the feature but now please lets get on to official teams and stadiums pls
I know I'm not going to like the dive function, certainly not online.
I like the shirt pulling part, I'm sure Man U will pull a few wins over me with that

Last year everyone did the "Dirt" cut back goals, now they'll all be diving :) lol
chelsea11
24-07-2007, 14:11
Yes, I can do a cut back then dive and get a peno!! Awesome!!
I don't think it will be as straight forward as just pressing the button and diving and you get a foul against the opp.
I think you'll have to time it right like just as the opposition goes to tackle you do the dive and even then your not guaranteed a foul
shankly is god
24-07-2007, 14:37
yer when the opp slide tackle you or back into maybe you dive n if it looks right youll get the free kick/pen, but i hope theres some stuff like you can practice it in training or something.

Exclusive Translation Of German PC Gamestar Magazine
PAGE 1
Top Left: The face of Christiano Ronaldo looks incredibly real. The protagonists show more emotions then ever during celebrations.
Top Right: Freekicks fly with visibly more power towards the goal. Shots and Headers will be more dynamic as well.
Bottom Left: 3D-menu: During substitutions, you can see in the little window, which players on the bench you have at disposal.
Bottom Right: Shirt-pulling is possible in the new installation. Though we could not detect this unfair action in our Pre-Version.
Main: Somethings is changing - the new PES is much more than a repetition with changes in detail. We have tested the new features ourselves. Do you believe in coincidence? Konami had just presented young star Cristiano Ronaldo as cover face for PES 2008. Now we discover a brand new dive-feature in the first playable Version. Just to remind you: Cristiano Ronaldo was memorable during the WC 2006 mainly by his performance as an actor. We don't believe in a connection, the Portuguese dribble star meanwhile belongs to the best and well known players on our planet. Still a nice sidenote.
"The PES-fans" have repeatedly requested the dive-feature, now we have implemented it into the game. If the new move does not get accepted, it will be gone next year", Konamis PR-Manager explains. Sure we tried the free flying in the first matches. For this, we keep the shoulder-buttons of the Microsoft-controller pressed and perform the dive with the left trigger. The first amateurish attempts are punished by the official immediately with a yellow card. If the referee is standing in a bad position, he gives a Penalty.
PAGE 2
Top Left: Frequent cut-scenes spice up the master league mode. The graphical quality of the little movies is more on the weak side.
Top Right: If the decisive goal is scored shortly before the end of the game, even the players on the bench in the background come running to join the celebration.
Main: The game play on. But soon after we succeed. We dribble around a defender and enter the box. Then we slow down, let the defender come near from behind. A second opponent closes in from the left. Now our player goes to the ground, the ref points at the mark - penalty! Other than the dive we got to try other new moves. If we keep the shoulder buttons pressed when being on height with the box, the winger now turns towards the goal. From this position, crosses can be played harder and with better precision. If we want to get rid of our opponent with a hook, we push the ball a little ahead and sprint behind it.
The quick free-kick feature was also improved. Before the opposing team can form, we pass the ball to a teammate with the analogue-stick. Wall building One of the biggest complaints of PES has also been taken care of by Konami: the wall during free-kicks. Now the big guys cover the short corner, the smaller fellows stand on the goalies side. Dwarfs like Claude Makelele don't find their place in the wall anymore! Adding to that you can now decide, how many players block the way. If you predict a direct shot, put more players in the wall. If you believe the ball might be passed, a three man wall will suffice.
Free-kicks now have considerably more power, so do headers and shots. Especially a running volley screams through the air in a way, that you can barely follow the ball with your eyes. New animations have also been added, like the jumping slide tackle. Doing this, the defender completely extends his legs straight and plays the ball with the underside of the boot. Beware a leg being in between ... painstruck or happy faces further add emotions on the pitch. Best shown are the mimic features during goal celebrations. But defenders also don't stay expression-less after a conceded goal, but sometimes curse along.
Public Viewing
Almost perfect animations always were responsible for the high level of realism of the series. In PES 2008 now excellent player models come along. On the cheek of the new Bayern player Frank Ribery we find his scar. Also ex-world footballer of the year Ronaldinho looks all identical to the original including even the headband. But the developers cheated a little with the movement of his hair. While the ends move with the wind, the rest of the haircut looks cemented with hairspray. The haircut of italian Andrea Pirlo is another good example for this. The developers did not put much focus on the graphical quality of the stadia and the audience - until now at least. More consideration is put on the licenses.
This time a lot more teams are said to have original names and kits. In the pre-version the data was from the last season. The reason: license-negotiations are still in full progress. We would have liked to tell you more about the new Teamvision-feature. But we didn't see anything of a learning or adapting AI during our 3 hour trial-session. The gameplay seems to be only minimally changed from the brilliant predecessor.
Andreas Szedlak: The early version still suffered from slowdowns, further the kits are from last season. That I still would have loved to take the disc home, says it all. Thanks to the perfected ball-physics the game wins on dynamic. And the players look considerably more real due to the new graphics engine.
Latest strenghts and weaknesses:
- Football was never more realistic
- Interesting new dive feature
- Regular slowdowns
- Weak stadium graphics
Potential: Great

I'm loving the dive feature, should be awesome!
This years pro evo is going to get better and better! Cracking idea for the players on the bench to come on and celebrate aswell :D
OK this is ridiculous. The PES fans continuosly asked for a dive function? They barely listen to what we want.

I dont know about This Is Football but you could dive in Fifa 98 back in the day of the PlayStation.
Nice article there. Loving the idea of running onto a volley and smacking it. As for the dive feature, i cant WAIT to try that out!
More in:
The editing system has been given a complete overhaul allowing you to edit liscensed as well as custom kits
That's cracking news to be honest, as it will certainly pro-long the PES experience. It wasn't really annoying playing with an old(ish) kit, but now being able to update it is quite good news. There wouldn't be much point of editing licensed kits I wouldn't think though, unless you want to replace an Away kit with the clubs Third kit or something. Or maybe add a sponsor e.g. Sevilla = 888.com.
be good if they had some pre determined sponsors or made up ones, could have adidas or konami or evian?like they already have then make up some random ones at the end of a season negotiate new sponsors in ML,then edit an official kit to add the new sponsor, would be a nice idea.
Hopefully it doesn't delete the sponser or anything when you edit it, so you can change the kit design or something while leave everything else the same
when can we see a video? i'm getting desperate to see some video!!

The bernabeau was in PES6 weren't it???
I would love it if Konami put in the Emirates and Arsenal are still licensed.

I would be very surprised if the Emirates was in the game. As I've mentioned before, it's far too generic a stadium to be in the game and Arsenal are nothing special any more. You might as well say Eastlands should be in there because that's a new stadium too. Now Wembley on the other hand...that would be a great addition.

now that would be awsome ;)
Would be silly to put in the new Anfield like, especially when it's 3 years (at least) from being finished, and the plans of the design still may change. However the current Anfield should definetely be in the game, as should Old Trafford, Wembley, Stamford Bridge, fuck it, all Premier League clubs should have their stadium in the game to be honest. There's not reason no to, they've been working on this game since the Xbox 360 was pretty much released.
new anfield plan does look pretty good tho, they could always put it in as another teams stadium and keep anfield as liverpools, just call the new 1 something like new athletics stadia or summat dodgy like that and dont have any signs of liverpool around. id just like it to be in coz it looks quality :D
The fact the plans have just leaked, and it takes a while I assume to build a stadium and it just wouldn't be right. Imagine if they had Wembley on PES4 and called it "The Olympiakos Stadium", not quite the same is it, doubt the FA would be pleased either.

yer thats true, but i think like packs should be able to be downloaded to your HDD instead of using disk space which could be used on graphics n other stuff but more balls, stadia, players etc should use HDD memory not disk i think anyway
Yeah but I'm sure we'd be up in arms if we had to download everything as we know the only thing that would be free is those ridiculous penguin costumes. I can't see Konami even considering building the new Anfield until well, it's built. It would be a bit of a waste of time, as I'm sure they've got other and more important things to develop.
Something must be happening with the Master League too, Konami haven't leaked anything about it, something must be changing dramatically I think. I hope.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
"A paradise for cheaters"
Lack of sportsmanship as a feature in the football-simulation Pro Evolution Soccer was believed to be impossible for a long time, but now in the version PES 2008 it has come: the players may cheat with consent of the developers. Because if you press 3 of the 4 shoulder-buttons of your gamepad, the kicker lets himself fall to the ground. If you do it cleverly, you get a free kick or a penalty. If you are less gifted with your finger-skills, the ref shows you a yellow card. A festival for cheaters! Allegedly it is only coincidence, that Cristiano "dive-king" Ronaldo will decorate the cover of PES 2008.
You may ask, where have we got these info from? Two weeks ago we visited the sales department of Konami in Frankfurt and convinced ourselves for hours of the quality of the Japanese title using the PC Version. Our impression: fantastic! Especially neat: you don't need to be afraid of eye-cancer any more, for the PC-version is based on the high-definition visuals of the consoles. In plain language: finally a decently high grade of detail, flapping shirts, grass-leaves and even emotions on the kicker's faces. The playability is first class as always, the master league-mode has been pimped by the makers and a new playing-mode, in which you control one single player and accompany him during his career adds more variety. We are enraptured!
No Werder Bremen? :/ Still I'm excited.

Further PES 2008 Details From France
It seems the European continent keeps providing us with the most insight into changes and additions to the next-gen PES 2008. Over the last couple of weeks information has been flowing from our brothers on the continent and we are eternally grateful. Again thanks to our French associate Thomas and Gecro29, we have further details this time from JOYPAD magazine. Most magazines and major internet gaming sites have by now all received some sort of beta and are providing us with constant details with regards to the game. However, the PS3 version which has been confirmed as the lead SKU is still MIA (Missing In Action). I really, honestly, truly can't wait for Leipzig! Here are the details:
- Joypad tested Xbox 360 version of the game at 75%.
- Immense details on faces for the stars.
- Great collisions
- The referee uses a whistle.
- Many passing-animations.
- Many frame rate problems on Xbox 360 version.
- Gameplay feels the same (guessing compared to PES6).
- Better ball protection (better collision).
- Better control for passing (more sharp).
- Irritated coaches!
- Players pull up their socks.
- New camera on PK (behind the goalkeeper) when the Computer shoots.
- No time to really examine TeamVision (but much better AI on very hard).
- No access to Training mode, Master League and Online mode for the moment.
- Scenario mode on PS2, absent from next-gen.
- Latvia is replaced by Israeli national team.
So a few bits and bobs here and there with regards to the game features and additions etc. The frame rate problem is worrying for most fans, however we do believe that this will be ironed out for the Gold copy or Final release. Frame rate problems on the Xbox 360 or PC should be expected as these versions are ported from the lead SKU and will be optimized for their respective platforms before release.
The bold one isn't too good.
Tigermen
28-07-2007, 14:08
Why is it a problem that the AI is better?
Why is it a problem that they couldn't access training or online mode when it was not the full version of the game. It doesn't mean they're gonna be missing from the final game!
There was also no scenario mode in the PS2 games, so that's either a wrong translation or they just don't know what they're talking about. Unless they mean the international challenge thing which won't exactly be a big loss.
And if you read to the end you'd see that the article seems to think the frame-rate problems will have disappeared by the time the final version is made for each platform.
Just pointing it..
You don't have to be so angry..

frame rate issues will no doubt be ironed out like stated. i dont understand how they can say that
Better ball protection (better collision).
- Better control for passing (more sharp)
yet say gameplay is similar to pes6?surley if passing is more controlled thats immediatley a big diffenece in the entire game since 75% will be passing.
still all sounds good to me,they never change the gameplay much,so long as theres plenty of animations, additions and powerful shots il be generally quite happy

FC Honka?! I looked them up and theyre a Finnish side. Oh well, I like a bit of variety, would have thought theyd have used HJK Helsinki or FC Haka if they were using a team from Finland though.
Still no sign of Bundesliga though, shame that.

Big wall.
i guess theyve taken that pic to show you choose what YOU want in the wall.cant see me putting 10 in a wall tho, theyd just pass to 1 of 9 other free men to have a free shot on goal
i guess theyve taken that pic to show you choose what YOU want in the wall.
yes, i think this is the case, because in the other picture of the freekick there are only 3 men in the wall

Hopefully with the new wall setting feature, you can now also chose whether to send your CBs up for corners or even chose to send your keeper up when you see fit.

BTW, have you checked out the pre-season thread on wemaniacs? I've posted up a match report against the Mancs.
Well I hope the freekick will be easier to score than PES6..

Gameplay feels the same doesn't sound good, I hope they at least add more directions to the 8 already in use.

You could on PES5, only in injury time though :)
It's not even out yet, so how do you know the gameplay feels the same?
- Latvia is replaced by Israeli national team.
http://www.winningelevenblog.com/
I hope u won't ask how they know all the above, hence u argue that it's not even out yet...
If the gamplay is thas same as PES6, do they mean the 360 version? That's different (i.e. worse) than on the PS2 and not even as fluid as the PSP version.
Why bother replacing Latvia with Isreal, you'd think they could add more teams.
Preview Of PES 2008 For PS2 Courtesy of Level7.nu
Our dear friends over at Level7.nu have sent us a link to their preview of the PS2 version of PES 2008. I would like to thank Erik Hansson for sending me this Preview. The article is in Swedish so it will be difficult for most of our viewers to read, but we have a little summary in English. Here is the link to the article:
http://www.level7.nu/texter/read.php?id=145097
Summary of Preview:
* New and Improved commentary
* Better passing and first touch
* A lot of new animations
* Easier free kicks
* Community - new game mode that lets you track stats, cups and leagues for you and your friends while playing each other.
* World Tour - new game mode with mission based matches against random teams. Win without running offside against Morocco. Defend a lead against Costa Rica. Etc.
* New, lousy music in the menus.
* No improvements of Master League at all as far as I could tell without being able to save in this version of the game.
It has been much publicized that this years PS2 game will be a new experience with fully reworked animations and new game modes. This preview supports this even more. However, very disappointing that there were no changes in the Master League up until that point. Every year, the fans hope for some changes to the Master League so lets hope Konami do make some changes before release.
Yay, easier freekick!
Glad they will make it!
Hmm, no improvements on ML..
Not a good thing..
PS2 version though.
Hopefully the next-gen versions are different.

i thought that konami said that last gen (ps2,xbox etc) wont have pes7 but only current gen(xbox 360, ps3, wii) would have it ???
Obviously ML wont be different for the PS2. Definitely different on PS3/360.
Yea but this is also considered as an update.
EDIT: I hope they will change the ML for PS2 since I can't afford for PS3 & 360.
It is an update yes but most of Konami's hard-work is going to next-gen.
I know because the latest will always be the attraction..
sellyour ps2 and all its games/accessories on ebay,if you have alot of games and accessories youd almost have enough for a 360.
I don't like Xbox.
I prefer PS3. :D
ahh, well, start saving your change!if i saved i could get one within 2 weeks but id feel like id worked too hard just for a console,ya know, not going out at weekend ect seems a bit much........
more screens and a video anytime soon konami anyways~!!!!!!!!

Much Love,
W.E.N.B. Team
We’ve played PES 2008
Observe that this preview is based on a Beta version of the PS2 game. Things can change before the game is released, but probably not that much. Furthermore the PS3 and 360 versions will differentiate from the PS2 counterpart.
I first tested PES6 about a year ago. I still remember how impressed I was. Konami had polished the game on the field so much that the lack of licenses didn’t bother me. The 360 version, however, was a really sloppy made game that pointed the direction for things to come. No doubt the PS2 version got most of the love. This year, that’s over.
Scraps are enough for starving fans
I have now spent over 10 hours with a Beta version of PES 2008. I’ve played all of the game modes, thoroughly tested the fullbacks movements by constantly giving the ball away, studied the speed and direction of passes, practiced free kicks from different distances and tried to be creative in the 1-on-1-Vs-goalie-situations. My conclusion; Konami still got faith that our strong love for the series will make us buy each instalment because of the little scraps they throw us. This year’s scraps are smaller than last year’s, but they are enough however.
But this is a preview of the PS2 version. The next-gen versions could very well be better off. I’ll come back to that shortly.
Much left undone
During the first games I almost believed that I was playing PES6. Sure, I did notice some small things, but it took a while to realise what had actually happened. Of course there are a lot of things left to improve – free kicks in your own half and no-one seems want the ball, passes that try to go to the wrong player, defenders that aren’t in their positions and players bad awareness if the sidelines. But after a few games the realisations of improvement also was there.
Noticeable improvements
Here are some of the improvements I’ve discovered:
* Passes are some what more realistic. With good players you can now execute much better through passes than before. The ordinary passes do also feel better and is often struck quicker than before.
* More animations when player receives the ball. It’s a bit more usual that the players handle the ball like the pros they are. The PES6 fumbling-with-the-ball-thing isn’t as usual as it was, but it’s still there. But the fumbling itself does now look a bit better.
* The balance of the players is now more realistic. There are more varieties of what close contact can result in. It’s not as obvious anymore, that the com wins all the “close combat situations”.
* In general the players have got better ball handling which leads to the play in small spaces have been improved. Thanks to smarter passing and some what faster control of the ball, you can now pass the ball around even under close marking.
* More animations. Something that does a lot for the game play is that new animations are constantly added, and therefore there is a greater variation on the pitch. Even if I constantly experience new events in PES6, despite the hundreds of hours with the game, there’s still something special to experience these new events as early as in the first game.
* New commentators. Even if they recycle much of the previous sentences, it does feel fresh with a new set of voices and so far I think they’re better than the previous.
* In free kicks it’s easier to hit the goal. I taught myself to master them enough in PES6 and for my part it’s nice to see that even players like Kewell can hit the target nowadays. They could be too easy, only time can tell.
The game play has improved even if there’s a lot left to work on. The players all to seldom behave like the pros they are.
Two new game modes
When it comes to game modes Konami has actually put in some effort. Two completely new game modes have been added; World tour and community. The first is a mission-based mode where a team of your choice are to fill certain demands to progress to the next round. The demands could be to win over Saudi Arabia with at least two goals, beat Morocco without making a substitution or win over Costa Rica with the winning goal scored by a sub. Funny Konami copying a FIFA feature.
Community is also a theft off of the EA series. In this mode you can create profiles for yourself and up to 15 friends. You then get extremely well detailed statistics that makes it possible to check which of you that actually scores the most goals and a lot of other things. It’s also possible to use community mode to host tournaments and leagues.
Konami ignores master league
Ordinary cups and leagues are there like before, as is the career mode, master league. The sad thing is that the master league hasn’t received any development time at all. Or well, a new layout to the main master league menu that hadn’t passed in the kindest of teachers art-classes. I play a lot in master league and this is an utter disappointment for me. There are so extremely many small things to fix in master league that it becomes extra painful to see Konami ignore it.
Sack the Graphics & Sound technician
PES6 could very well have had the worst menu music of any game released during 2006. This year, Konami has put a bit more effort in arranging a lot of songs that you can put in your own playlist. The problem, however, is that the songs at their best are average, but to a considerable majority are terrible. The fact is that some were so bad they made me laugh.
I don’t know who it is at Konami that has the world’s worst graphics- and sound taste and is bossing the team, but he or she should really do us all a favour and leave the company.
License fiasco
As usual the licenses are miserable. Its fun to see that a few new teams have been added and that, of some reason, us Swedes have got more teams than, for an example, Portugal and Germany. But Konami still got reasons to be criticised about licenses. There are tons of nameless teams in the database which you can make your own teams of, but Konami should really be able to fill them their selves with something more interesting than pure creatures of their fantasies.
Hooked for another year
The feeling I got when I played PES6 for the first times was that I was never gonna return to PES5. When playing PES 2008 I get the same feeling, but it’s not as strong. The gameplay has improved and the few new teams and players that have been added is a sufficient reason for me to let go of PES6, but the step isn’t as big this year.
We have to hope that Konami has had their focus on the PS3, 360 and PC versions of the game. Perhaps its there we’ll find the biggest improvements. If not, it’s just to be sorry for the fact that Konami isn’t doing more than required of them to regain their devoted fans. How long are we gonna’ have to watch as EA has time for a lot of new stuff in their new versions while Konami just are doing what’s required of them?
Though, I have to admit that I’m extra harsh on the game since it’s so close to my heart. There is no other gaming series I’ve played as much through the years and it’s frustrating to see that nothing happens. Despite I know that what has happened is enough too hook me for another year. Furthermore, I’m convinced that PS3-, 360- and PC versions will be supreme this year. I’ll return with more information regarding that in the near future."

The magazine claims to have a hands-on preview next month. So i guess we'll have to be patient, but Leipzig's only 24 days away!
The article makes a few statements about the game summarised below:
* Tackling's the big change with players constatnly nibbling at their rival's heels.
* Fluid, realistic animations dominate i.e. John Terry faces the other way but pokes out a leg when blocking.
* Can send defender up for set pieces.
* Wingers raise their head before crossing.
* Menu's are cleaner.
That's it lads, I guess till the next issue after Leipzig."

Comparisons OF Features in PES 2008
We reported to you earlier in the week that there is a chance that the "Fantasista" mode would not be coming to the Next-gen versions of PES 2008. It seems that the mode is currently absent from the game at this stage and therefore looks unlikely that it will be in there. This however is information gathered from Beta copies of the game on Xbox 360 and PC platforms. It may be the case that Konami want to keep the "Fantasista" mode unique to the PS2.
The PS2 version of PES 2008 will also include the Challenge mode as well as the Scenario mode that many people are looking forward to. However, missing from the PS2 version is the Diving feature. It seems this feature will only be integrated into the Next-gen versions of the game. At this stage the game has not gone GOLD (Final Production Copy) so the game is subject to change. But stay tuned and the W.E.N.B. will keep you updated.
This is for the Aussies.
Lucas Neill the Face of Pro Evo 2008 (http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/809/809758p1.html)
Lucas Neill the Face of Pro Evo '08
Socceroo joins Ronaldo as Australian and NZ poster-boy.
by Patrick Kolan, IGN AU
Australia, August 1, 2007 - If you live and breathe football (that is, Soccer to all you non-European peoples of the world), the Pro Evolution stands tall as a pillar of quality in the gaming world.
This year, leading Qantas Socceroo Lucas Neill and Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo will be the faces in Australia and New Zealand of its forthcoming PES 2008 - the latest incarnation of the multi-million-selling Pro Evolution Soccer series.
Lucas Neill has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world. Marking some of the most powerful strikers in world football, Lucas has impressed his peers with his clinical tackling, incisive attacking instinct, accurate kicking talent and quick and accurate analysis of his opponent's weaknesses to plan his offensive attack.
Midfielder Ronaldo is regarded as one of the most exciting talents of the modern game, and the 22-year-old is a permanent fixture in the Portuguese national squad. His incredible ball control and trademark skills have seen him receive countless awards, including both the PFA's 2007 Player and Young Player of the Year awards.
As part of the deal, Lucas Neill and Cristiano Ronaldo will appear on the packaging and point-of-sale materials for Konami's Australian and New Zealand versions of PES 2008.
The Lucas Neill and Ronaldo deal comes as Konami gears up for the launch of PES 2008 this Autumn on PS3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD, PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo DS.
"It is an honour to be the face of a game that is the undeniable leader in football video games" added Lucas Neill. "The developers succeeded in creating a true to life game that captures the intensity, realism and detail of football in a virtual environment."
"For me there is no other game that can capture the grace and skill of football like PES 2008," commented Cristiano Ronaldo. "Every element of the game is lavished with incredible detail, and with its close control and fast pace it is the most complete simulation of real football out there."
I'm boycotting it then. Neill is a fucking cunt / tool.

I'm sure they could of got a much better player than him. lol
Such as Mark Viduka & Tim Cahill.
dunno whose better than him for the aussies,i dont like him but he is one of there best players, cahill or viduka would of been better, ima say viduka been a leeds fan,hes a 20 a season man and most people dont realise it,in fact hes better than owen.
^^^you got there before me wan109.
i think a good option would be to use a aspiring youngster from the aussie league,we may not know him but im sure the aussies would, and it would prolly be a lot cheaper
Neill I feel isn't one of our best players, he's a disruptive influence in the Aussie team and there are rumors he's been sulking over Viduka not giving up the captaincy to him, he's a cunt.
Would prefer Kewell, Cahill, Dukes, Carney, Bresicano or someone like that to be ahead of him.

Mark Viduka & Mark Schwarzer are the most suitable candidates as they are pretty awesome. Don't think Kewell & Cahill the most suitable because they injury-plagued last season.

Archibald Thompson. That New Zealander deserves to be on the cover.
How about Younis Mahmoud since Iraq make a history winning their first ever AFC Cup?
Incase no one knows, J League Winning Eleven 2007 Club Championship (JLWE2007CC) is out.
Not available in some place I think..
id say kewell, viduka, emerton, or gayhil should be on the cover.
no way on the kewell me thinks, hes done naff all since signing for liverpool,he was injury prone at leeds but there was some brillance too.
i think it was someone like mark lawrence or someone who said that viduka was a great signing for anybody coz hes always scoring consistently well but he never gets noticed as much.how many did rooney get last season within 29 games/?
About J League Winning Eleven 2007 Club Championship:
I've finally got it and playing Fantasista mode. Not too bothered about the other modes tbh.
About Fantasista mode: I created myself in the game. Then played 1 amateur game i guess, using the normal cam and NOT the player cam (can't be bothered trying Player cam). Then based on that game i recieved 6 offers from Japanese D2 teams. Chose 1 and now i'm in there subs. I must say there are around 52 weeks of football in D2 which i think is beautiful. Looking at the options there are new things which are solely for the fantasista mode obviously. Fantasista looks more like the ML structure (Not PES6, JL structure that is) which is good. I also like the track (sounds brazilian). Thats all i can say for now tbh because i still have to play in D2.
Sounds good, do we get this in PES 2008?
Archibald Thompson. That New Zealander deserves to be on the cover.
He's a fat, dump cunt, I want to kick him
ermmm...

He got 14 in 33....

Why is Rooney involved in this?
Are you trying to say Viduka is better than Rooney just because he scored more goals?
Sounds good, do we get this in PES 2008?
Reports have said yes and no, so I guess it may not be in. From what I've read off the blog though, no Premier League teams are licensed on PES J-League, so we can only hope they secure licenses by the European release.

I'm looking 4ward to seeing which premiership teams r licensed.
It's very interesting this year because C.Ronaldo and M.Owen are the cover stars for us Britons so does this mean that Newcastle and Man Utd are the licensed teams are is they about 3-4 licensed teams from the prem this time around???
I'm dying to see some screenshots of Arsenal and other Premiership teams.

In the first PES for PSP they had an edit mode...but all you can do is transfers and edit stats. :(
Yes, im pretty sure they stated that there will be a very in depth editing feature in the game.
How would an option-file for the 360 version work then?

I like the player creation mode. It's like what they use in Virtua Tennis 3. However, would that make it more difficult for those Player Creation threads to work? The old way you would numbers/codes to guide others to make faces, so I'm not sure how people like Cali will fare with the new version.
you can add your own face into the game :w00t
Wow, Music playlist also. Looks great. Good find lami.
I think we will all get used to this amazing new edit mode.

why players only from the PremierShip?

That French info is just confirming Drogba as the cover 'girl' for the French version. Obviously the French League hasn't got any stars to put on it apparently!
I've heard that the PS2 ML is identical to last year and that may be the case for the next-gen versions as well. I would wait until Leipzig before getting too down about it tho as nothing is official yet.

in all the images the nets are the same, red and white with the scruffy bar along the bottom.
In PS2/xbox versions of pes 5 there were many types of nets:
blue and white, green, squared holes, circular holes etc
but in PES6 on 360 there was only the scruffy nets with the horrible bar along the bottom.
I hope pes2008 doesnt suffer from lack of variation in this area

PODCAST 010: Reaching New Heights (http://www.winningelevenblog.com/2007/08/podcast-010-reaching-new-hights.html)
In a busy week filled with action, rumors, speculation and drama I must admit that there was tons of stuff to discuss. Add to that the masses of comments and e-mails we received, I honestly thought we were gonna have a 3 hour podcast. But we streamlined and prioritized, focusing on all the big talking points and staying on-point. As always we had the huge Winning Eleven/Pro Evo section followed by a similarly large community section. Many talking points and much analysis throughout.
Unfortunately we were missing the company of Adeel Ahmad, the "Next-Gen" PR Representative. The bastard is away on vacation enjoying the sun. Lucky for some eh! But his ass will be back in less than three weeks to join us in what will be a historic event in Leipzig (well at least we hope so). So the trio was down to two, but we managed to provide you with 86 minutes of CD-Quality WE/PES discussion and analysis. I know, I know... more than an hour is too long, but seriously its not possible to cover everything in 60 minutes or less considering the week we just had. The notorious Mad Winning Eleven Fan makes an appearance with a typically animated voice clip that had me wetting my pants.
As usual we have the embedded player (Divshare) which is very popular as well as the zShare and iTunes links.
After listening to the podcast today, I have a strong feeling the premiership will be licensed plus having official leagues and tournaments. That's just me trying to read between the lines though.
why what do they say?good idea that podcast business but i dont really have time to listen that often.
have they taken any national teams out?so long as theres a create a team or just some free slots it shouldnt be that bad,but thats unknown yet.

Well Old Trafford woz in PES6 cos Man Utd were fully licensed but no-one knows how many Premiership teams will be licensed yet so we'll just have to wait a little longer.......
Translation from a French PS2 magazine.
A much more visual (eye-pleasing) and intuitive Master League interface, in particular a multitude of messages flooding your e-mail inbox with some animations here and there.
There are still many secrets being held with regards to the gestures (moves) within the game. However, three we have identified and according to our information they are: the hook in talonade, control piqué and the dive. Without forgetting a multitude of animations contributing to immerse you in full heart of the match.
Players pull up their socks, the linesman which beckons to play when the attacker is not off-side, even, as its will be the case on PS3, with “insert camera”.
Thus, when your opponent gets a free-kick you can't move your wall to better protect the angles of strike or placing the large players in place of the smaller ones. By holding the L2 trigger inserted and then pressing up or down, you will be able to withdraw or add players to your wall.
It any more but does not remain to take down the license of the first league. Perhaps even as of this year since, in the version that we in our possession, all the English teams had whimsical shirts. This is an easy way, as they did two years ago, for Konami to keep the secret of the license of League 1 (French League). Maybe the same happening for the English league.
pro evo 11
06-08-2007, 15:23
i cant understand the last paragraph what is it trying to say
Well what i think they're trying to say is that two years ago, in the beta version of the game, the french ligue 1 wasn't lisceneced, but in the actual game they surprised us by having it fully liscenced. They may be doing the same thing this year with the english premier league, by having it unliscenced in the beta, but having it fully liscenced in the actual game. This probably isn't the case though, but lets be optimistic.
Psimonius
06-08-2007, 18:32
I think that is clutching at straws to be honest. It's hardly a big clue if something if completely non-existant in a beta! Obviously 2 years ago Konami struck a deal for the Ligue 1 license after the beta was released. Seeing as EA has a monopoly on the EPL license until 2010, why do people think it will be there in complete form? It's a bit naive if you ask me, especially as the beta has 2 licensed teams present in Spurs and Newcastle.
