Due to certain people abusing the signature image size restrictions as stated in the rules, we have now restricted user ability to using img tags in signatures. You now must use the PESGaming signature image uploader, which is set so that you can only upload images which fit the size requirement for your user group.

Normal Users: 450 x 100 pixels - no gifs - 20kb.
Elite Users: 500 x 150 - gifs allowed - 100kb

I am having some trouble Hitman uploading my sig since you made the changes. At first the size was too big so I saved it as a gif. and then a jpeg but when I upload it a message comes up saving it is unable to save.

Could you possible assist me in sorting this out as I have always only been able to have a sig with the aid of imageshack codes.

I was under the impression he is telling us we can only use a sig if we upload it using the pesgaming method which I am unable to do hence I am asking for assistence.

At first it didn't appear fro me, but if you go

my profile > edit options > [scroll down to bottom table and change message editor interface to] standard editor

It should now work.

Hmmm I don't know I'll have to try it out. It's not exactly a GIF im trying to use but it does update daily like a flash image.

EDIT: no luck, Just says Invalid URL. Oh well.

I've seen some awful ones on occasion. Moreover, until recently at least, users have been able to quote a stupid amount of text.

Because i'm a vet and i've always stuck to the rules which, according to you, have been abused by a certain group of members. Why should the people suffer for the actions of a few?

Also, i lost the PSD to my magnificent signature, and i really can't be arsed to make a new one. :tongue:

Besides, there are restrictions for only two user groups: The Normies and the Elite. Can't you allow vets, which i'm guessing are a separate user group, to have a little more? Say...450 X 150...? :innocent:

You have the URL in your sig still, simply click that, and save. Then you should be able to resize it in Photoshop without the white background.

It matters not anyhow, i think that once it's complete, it will be over 20 KB.

I still need to add three more players.

well, it has lost some quality but I am confident that three more players wouldn't change the filesize too much.

The new signature adding tool caught me out at first, took me a while to work out.

Anyways, here are the "save for web" settings I used out of photoshop for your signature:

The trouble is the signature still looks bollocks in comparison to your last one, I think the limits are too wide in comparison to the height, 450*200 would be more useful if you ask me... but I suppose you didn't. What difference on bandwidth usage has this change made?

Could someone be kind enough and explain how I must proceed for my signature image to show? I manged to upload it using the 'new' tool and it meets the pixel requirements.(433X100, it is)

Well, when I say made, I mean cut down to size and added a border on it. It's now 350x100 but still won't allow me to use it as a signature. It doesn't explain why, but I'm guessing the size of the file is too large, but if that's the case how can I have a picture signature since almost every picture file is larger than 19kb ?

Help appreciated, I've tried using [SIGPIC] or whatever it is now, can't seem to figure out this sig thing.

I'll sort it, there's absolutely no way it should be 85kb, that's pretty big for a web JPEG these days...

edit: Are you using photoshop? Never mind if not, but in future use the "Save for Web" feature. Anyway, with no effort, it's now 10kb:
