Yeah, a very close match. A draw for me.
Sully put Lampard instead Riquelme and Bojinov instead Taddei and your attack will be great.

I'd be concerned about that...

Yeah, I wouldn't put Bojinov there, but I'd definitely slot Lampard in there.

Figo, what the hell is Ramos doing on the bench? De Jong is a joke at right back compared to Ramos. Scratch that- De Jong is a joke compared to Ramos. Why isn't Sneijder starting over Toulalan?

Anyways. Interesting stuff here.

Highway, he could be rotating early.

A bit peculiar, no? Being the first game of the season and all that.

But logical reasoning on your part.

Figo, let's hear it bro.

I've made a couple of changes from what would be strongest XI. People who do that should be able to field a pretty strong side on matchdays 8, 9, 17 and 18 and pick up points against those who play strong teams early on and save the reserves for the final games.

It's like the ant and the grasshopper in a way.

A plan that would perhaps work rather better, if not everyone was clued into it.

Very close one for me although Figo etches it. He has a number of players on the bench who could change the game completely and has more pace and depth alround.

Close game with say a 1-0 or 2-1 win for Figo.

Voted Figo,

He has pace up top and Crouch to head in goals. Figo's midfield will have most of the possession and would create more chances on goal. 2-0 to figo.

Have you ever seen Crouch's heading ability?

Good luck Figo

I had to guess if Sully would field Lampard and Seedorf, so I went for Toulalan in midfield. Physically Sneijder is up there too, but not a pure central attacking player like Pato.

And Ramos, I wasn't decided on whether to play him at CB or RB :D cos I hadn't had a friendly in pre-season. So yeah.

Good luck Sully.

Tell me about the ant and the grasshopper, Yossi. Something like David and Goliath?

I think it'll be a draw

Sully's behind, so I'll vote for him

There's no way Figo would be so far ahead here. Sully has at least as gooder, if not better, defence and midfield in my opinion. Players like Moutinho and Lucho Gonzalez may not have the popularity of Essien and Gerrard but they're extremely good midfielders, more than capable of supplying a very impressive group of attacking players like Riquelme, Maxi Rodriguez and Ronaldo.

And Figo, you'd be making a huge mistake if you play Ramos at centre back. It's right back or nothing for him.

It's not.

From Wiki:

The fable concerns a grasshopper or cricket who has spent the warm months singing away while the ant (or ants in some editions) worked to store up food for winter. After the winter has come, the grasshopper finds itself dying of hunger, and upon asking the ant for food is only rebuked for its idleness. The story is used to teach the virtues of hard work and saving, and the perils of improvidence.
