wellzy will take this for a 2-1 win. Owen and torres will score and then a late winner from babel will take it.
Voted Wellzy,
2-0 is my prediction for this game. Wellzy has the better midfield to take control of this game.

I'd say The G undoubtedly has the stronger defence - Carvalho, King and Evra in particular wouldn't be at all out of place in Division 1. Wellzy's back four are by no means bad, but, with the exception of Finnan, simply aren't on the same level.
The midfield battle will be extremely close fought. Both central pairings will see decent amounts of the ball without one dominating the other. Out in the wide areas, both sides are dangerous but slightly weaker. Unsurprisingly, Babel hasn't even begun to live up to the hype so I have reservations about holding him in too higher regard, particularly over the excellent Petrov. Likewise on the other side I'm not entirely convinced by Camoranesi or Pennant to be frank. Both can be excellent on their day, but can't always be counted on to perform at their peak.
Both attacks are excellent. Torres, like Babel, still has a lot to do to convince me, but there's no denying he has potential. Inzaghi is a proven scorer and will no doubt be the main threat to Mat's goal. A fit Owen alongside McCarthy is a potentially excellent partnership, with both players capable of scoring 20+ a season.
It's a very close game but I'm going for The G as I feel his forwards will get more out of Wellzy's defence than Inzaghi and Torres will out of his own.

well said.
I think that Wellzy has the big names where as Mat's squad would perform a little better as a team. I would like to see Petrov in a more advance role however.
Still, Mat for me.

Wellzy for me
Thanks for the comments guys, especially martin's I really value them. Although, I would like to say Torres has been excellent since signing for Liverpool and looks a threat all the time. Babel has lots of potential and could be an awesome player.
Nevertheless, Thanks for the comments guys and good luck to The G! ;)

I'm going for The G, purely because I can see his defence minimalising the opportunities for Inzaghi to feed upon. I can see Pippo getting maybe one, however, such is the strength of The G's defence I can see hjim coming out on top.
2-1 The G, McCarthy, Petrov and Inzaghi to scorers.
Original?

Unfortunately 'looking a threat' doesn't automatically provide goals. I'd have to say 1-0 to The G, but I will reserve my vote to ensure it stays within reason.

What? ;)
Babel's been excellent against both Chelsea (although it wasn't a very long game for him) and Switzerland. The man can hardly be beaten in a 50m race, his pace is a threat to any defender. It's still his first season, but I have all confidence in him.

Some critics may start to realise Fernando Torres is about a lot more than goals, therefore doubting a young striker's quality purely based on their goalscoring record (which isn't too bad, by the way) and going as far as to call them "average" or "shite" is quite ridiculous, given all the other qualities he can give a team.
The G's defence is strong once again, with the exception of Belletti, who could be torn apart by Ryan Babel.
Likewise, Wellzy has a strong defence, with two good centre halves and an excellent right back, but has a full back who may struggle against Camoranesi and the roaming Belletti.
In midfield, Baraja and Guti will have spells of possession, but Owen Hargreaves is key to this game, as he is the only midfield player that excels at picking up loose balls and snuffing out the opposition's threat. Vitally, neither Baraja (couldn't use this argument against him a few years ago, but he's not the same player now unfortunately) can do this so effectively, though they will provide effective attacking play with their passing.
Martin Petrov and Jermaine Pennant can both use the byline to beat their man and whip in a good ball, and with all strikers on show good in the air, they will be a strong weapon for each team.
Wellzy has more spark in his team, in particular through Babel, Juninho and Torres, and with Inzaghi on the prowl, it's enough to sneak him the win, but it's sure to be a close affair, especially when you have Javi Navarro and Ricardo Carvalho on either team, doing all they can to make life as difficult as possible for the opponents. 2-1.
Very well summed up James, After today's performance of Torres, lets hope people give him his credit which is overdue ;)
I go for The G, totally agree with Barry last comment.
I feel very hard done by if I lose this one, which it looks like. I think people have under estimated some of my players, especially Babel, Torres and Pennant. Who have shown their class this weekend.
Good Game The G
