I have played pro evo / winning eleven from day 1, and I have to say that after playing the demo for a few days now, I am extremely disappointed. The reason/s for me being disappointed is as followed:
1. Where are the next-gen graphics?
I mean you look at Fifa (I know blasphemy). Compare Fifa 2004 to the new Fifa 08 and you can see the difference straight away. I know that is it a completely different game and it is shit. But still no one on these forums can argue that the graphics in PES2008 are disappointing. I know that graphics don’t make a game but still they help.
2. The AI is still shit!
3. Why remove the 2v2 online, Yet FIFA get 10v10?
4. Why do Shitbox 360 users get the ability to add there own face to the game, with the shitbox 360 camera, and PC users can’t, have Konami never heard of a web cam, digital camera?
5. Goalkeepers are still shit!
6. Corners are still shit.
I thought that we would definitely see the following graphical and gameplay improvements in this PES release.
Awesome Grass visuals
Pitch becomes damage, muddy around the 6 yard box, pitch cuts up ect…
Better weather conditions, i.e. rain starts, then stops, pitch gets wetter and wetter and players slide, slip, Snow starts ands the pitch gets covered in more snow, ball sticks more.
Wind effects, wind directions ect..
Better crowds.
Better and more realistic celebrations, not like the ones at the minute where they look like they are trying to bum each other. But like where they run into the crowd and the fans try to grab them ect..
Goalkeepers becoming useful not the retards that were use to!
An actual intelligent player switch, press L1 and it goes to the nearest player, yeah OK, it’s a load of shit and has been like this since PES 4. Should have been improved.
And sadly the longer that this goes on, the more the gap is closing, and soon FIFA will be the number 1 football game. As sad as it is, this is a reality, unless Konami pull there finger out and listen to the fans of the game. And for Christ sake try to get a fucking license please.
