It doesn't really make any difference to anyone here unless they are in any of the european tournaments. When they are big, people will notice.

So where did they finish in the league?
Are they in the top Dutch division?
nearly UEFA cup?
They were a long time in the race for a uefa cup tticket but the lost last weekend so a uefa ticket will not be in it. Now they stand 10th or something not really good.
But a couple of seasons we had some real good trainers i bet you know them: Willem van Hanegem, Gerard van der Lem and nowdays Co Adriaanse so every season we have almost a uefa ticket but our stadium is so bad unbelievable. So we cant grow further you understand??? So we will have to wait for a new staduim which will be very beautifull and then we can grow furter.
Cheers
They may be the only club to win the title in the last 40 years other than the big 3 but how will they close the gap on the big 3? So far they are 35 points behind 3rd and with that record they'd have been relegated from the premier league. Their coach is threatening to resign, their players are being asked to take a 30% wage cut to help keep the club alive and the coach admits that the squad is weaker than when he joined. But there's nothing wrong with having faith in your team.

Thats true. But we have a very rich chairman who wil always paid the losses which are made that season. But now he screams he dont want to do that anymore. But finally he will paid the losses again i think, untill we have the new stadium then we can grow further and the chairman dont have to paid the losses anymore.
Because the players of AZ earns the most money after the top 3 clubs but they prestate dramitically for that wage which they earn. So the chairman is also angry about that but im sure that everyhing will be ok and that the chairman will pay anything again.
I believe that they want the sponsors to pay more money to help the club. But looking at AZ website, there are some talented youngsters at the club who can probably replace any of the current team who refuse to accept the wage cut. After all most Italian clubs are enforcing wage cuts and the players there are accepting it
They must accept it they earn so much its unbelievable and the prestate like shit. I believe the basicwage is 100.000 €!!!!! So if you are a new player you will get a minimum of 100000 but they dont prestate to that and thats what i hate. They are all thinking ''so what if we lose i will get my money eitherway''. However the players of AZ are very good serious but as team they are shit. So i agree with it that they have to accept 30% less wage maybe the will prestate finally some better.
Thank you!!:)

Maybe they should have big bonuses for winning to encourage them. Although for a footballer to not care about losing is not a good thing.
BTW, GFK do you mean to say 'protest' when you say 'prestate'?

Hang on let me get this right: You missed out on a lot of money via the UEFA Cup? You have a Chairman who is now trying of paying the losses you seem to have each season. You have players who are now refusing to take a wage cut in order to help out your team.
With all these problems you seriously believe you will become a team of the future.
Your a funny guy! :D

Zygalski, you need a little help from a graduated Dutch-English translator (that's me, really)
what GFK meant with 'prestate' (the Dutch word is 'presteren') was actually 'perform'. in other words, he meant they earn a lot of money and perform poorly. that's all
no thanks
:)
You Know, like the worlds 4th highest paid footballer, Rio something

rio de janeiro?
Thanks for the translation cheezy.
It makes more sense now.
Gooner makes a good point about them though.
Not a great team ethic there.
I was just going to reply cheezy that the word i meant was ''perform'' but thanks anyway :)
And we would see what the future brings for AZ i see the future very bright in.;) :p :D
And cheezy you seems to be very good in english.
How do you say the word ''toch'' in english. I really cant imagine a word like that in english.
I mean in a sentence like this: Dat is alleen daarzo toch???? do you understand???
Thank you

Do you mean touch? Touch is used in a sentence such as this:
I touch(ed) the beautiful lady ;).
I am going to touch that item.
When refering to football, touch is used like this:
He has a brilliant touch. Touch being in this instance the same as control.
the dutch word "toch" is an adverb and has dozens of possible translations in english.
GFK, in de zin die jij als voorbeeld geeft zou ik 'toch' gewoon vertalen door "right", maar toch kan in het engels tientallen vertalingen hebben, afhankelijk van de betekenis: nevertheless, still, yet, all the same, rather, indeed, after all, since, anyway, anyhow, ... (ik heb er effe het woordenboek bijgehaald ;))
sorry for all that dutch stuff, just giving GFK a small translation lesson

Sorry I mis-read what he had said.
Maybe he could learn to practise writing English here or on my msn Arsenal_r_class@hotmail.com so we could help him?
It's just an idea.
Thanks for the english lesson Cheezy.;)
Als ik weer niet iets snap vraag ik het je wel.

and I used the analogy of Rio Ferdinand who, as he became the 4th highest wage earner in Football also became one of the poorest performing players in the premier league.
