If you had a football team, and you had to pick only 1 player from each premiership team to make up your sqaud who would you pick?
And if you didn't have to would you still bother?
The interesting part of this game comes in the pictoral sharades element.
Here's mine:
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/639/footballsharadesob7.th.jpg (http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?image=footballsharadeso b7.jpg)
My subs are:
Barry, Oakley, Kirkland, Anelka, Bullard, Lita, A. Ferdinand, Mcshane, Kapo.
You earn 10 points for naming the above persons sqaud. Only one sqaud in play at a time. If you guess more than 1 sqaud, you do not get to name another sqaud, it'll be first person to post one that hasn't already done so.
The points will be totalled up after 10 sqauds have been succesfully guessed. and we'll decide wether to have another game, or never to speek of this again. If no-one can guess your sqaud correctly after about 10 trys, you're docked 5 points. Likewise if it's to easy.
Lets play.

Good thread, but it should be in the Football section.
I'm rubbish at this stuff, but I'll have a go. Can only see Fabregas at the moment.
Edit: Have: Fabregas, Richards, Woodgate so far.

Well done. 8 to go.

Owen, and I think Friedle.

17-10-2007, 12:48
I was considering Friedel but didn't see the link to the burger.
Dragonfly

Same here (about the burger), bur the bird made me think "free" and I guess the burger is American looking. :S

Both correct. Remember you have to name the full sqaud to get any points though.

Oh, so I guess us posting them bit by bit is not a good idea then.

No, do it again and you'll be hunted down and tickled.
:|
This is bloody hard. God I hate these fucking things.

I like difficult puzzles, but to be honest, I don't know what some of these pictures are of. What the hell are those left-back pictures?

Friedle , Woodgate, Ronaldo, fabgas is all ive got

I don't mind, it's up to you and how much you want to win. The left back is obscure I'll grant you, but shouldn't be too hard once more players have been guessed.
All correct so far.
Is the left back Stephen Warnock?
AgentZero
17-10-2007, 13:30
Christ this is hard
he's probably the worst charades player ever
Stella Artois
17-10-2007, 13:33
Is the left back Stephen Warnock?
I reckon so. I can see it myself now you've said it.
Surely it can't be Warnock?
If Friedel is in goal and only one player from each team...
Stella Artois
17-10-2007, 13:41
Good thinking batman.
Still can't see how it's Friedel myself.
I can't see the forwards for the life of me.
Dragonfly
17-10-2007, 13:42
I thought it could be Shorey, but I'm not sure what that picture on the left is.
Again...Lita on the bench means Shorey can't be the left back...
Dragonfly
17-10-2007, 13:46
I forgot about the bench. Anyway, what's Lita doing on the team? He's not really proved himself much as far as I'm concerned.

The strikers are definitely Owen and Berbatov.
How did you work the Berbatov one out? I still can't see it
Stella Artois
17-10-2007, 14:07
Beethoven is the second image I assume. Can't see what the first one signifies.

The first pic is of a suburb, and "burb" is it's short-hand, and the second pic is of a toff.

I was going out on a limb with that if I was honest! Bit like Dundon's does.
What the hell is the one with the gorilla?

I'm stuck on that, the left-winger, and the left-back, but I think the LB could be a trick, and it could be Lescott. We're missing players from Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool.
This is what I have so far:
-------------------Owen---Berbatov---------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
?--------------?---------------Fabregas----------Ronaldo
---------------------------------------------------------
Lescott?-------Campbell?----Woodgate-----------Richards
---------------------------------------------------------
------------------------Friedle---------------------------

Is the Ronaldo pictures merely a case of crossing the dots and guessing that he has quick feet and uses gel? Otherwise I don't get that either.
I'm the same with the Ronaldo one Stella.
It makes sense yeah, but not in keeping with the others

To be honest, I wasn't 100% on that. I thought it could be because of his dancing feet and the gel's name ended in "do". Then it was confirmed, so I stuck him in.
I think that gorilla pic could be Makelele - I'm guessing that pasta dish if macaroni and cheese.
Stella Artois
17-10-2007, 14:27
I'd go along with that too.
So who is left, Everton and Pompey and Liverpool?
Dragonfly

Yeah, but I think the Pompey player is Campbell (camp is the first pic, but the second ain't a bell).
LB: could be Baines or Lescott - the first pic could be a bay(?) and the second could be a court.
LMF: I think it's a Liverpool player. Maybe Gerrard - second pic is a tard and the first pic, maybe Germans?
Maybe this is the team:
-------------------Owen---Berbatov---------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
Gerrard?-------Makelele?-------Fabregas----------Ronaldo
---------------------------------------------------------
Lescott?-------Campbell?----Woodgate-----------Richards
---------------------------------------------------------
------------------------Friedel---------------------------

Hmm, you're not half bad at this.
What you've said makes sense logically; when you explain it that is!
It's spelt Friedel by the way. The way you've spelt it pisses me off. ;/
Dragonfly

Friedle is now Friedel. ;)

Who is that guy in the CB picture??
somegooner
17-10-2007, 16:01
The left midfield might be Utaka. The first pick has people holding their hands to their noses as if saying "euuuuuw!!" and the second is of a shit which small kids refer to as caca.
It's one player per team though and Sol Campbell is already in.

17-10-2007, 16:04
I didn't understand how campbell was worked out Woodgate is the one on the right which is a wooden gate but the one on the left is some dude and a ring.
Well it wasn't fully. But the guy in the first picture is pretty famous for being quite camp so it looks quite likely to be Campbell.
somegooner
17-10-2007, 16:10
oh ok. I'm not really sure and this one might be stupid but maybe he has babel at left back because that second pic is a gate in jerusalem or something in arabic it would begin with bab el- and then the gate's name. I think its a stupid suggestion but you never know
somegooner
17-10-2007, 16:15
What about Campo since the ring is shaped like an O?
Anelka is on the bench so you can't have any other Bolton players.
AgentZero
17-10-2007, 22:18
maybe that isnt a gorilla, ever seen a gorilla walk like that?
Its probably a sasquatch or Big Foot..

Good progress guys, sorry if I've made this too hard. Campbell and Makelele are right. With the ring part of the clue for campbell i was thinking give someone a ring = give someone a bell.
Only left back, and left wing to go. I'll give some clues tomorrow if it's not done by then.

I think the left-winger is actually Babel now, because the guys on the left are "babbling on" and probably talking "shit". Left back must be an Everton player, so as it isn't Lescott, it must be Baines - the first pic could be of a bay(?) - but I still don't know what the second pic is about.
-------------------Owen---Berbatov---------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
Babel----------Makelele-------Fabregas-----------Ronaldo
---------------------------------------------------------
Baines---------Campbell------Woodgate----------Richards
---------------------------------------------------------
------------------------Friedel--------------------------

10 points dragonfly, you were right about the babel clue. the baines clue if anyone cares was supposed to be ley lines and qeue, as in big weight, as in ton. I guess it's pretty unrealistic to think anyone else is going to bother to make another sqaud of clues, so it looks like your the winner.
