Has anyone ordered pes2008 from play.com?
i thought i might aswell as it does look like its selling early, what is everyones status on it. i ordered mine about 20 mins ago and its on order placed. whats your on?

I order it a loooong time ago, at www.bol.com, that's a Dutch website. It's way better to order it, you don't have to go all the way to a shop, AND you don't have the risk to it being sold out.
So ordering is best all the way...
None of them will move prior to Monday at the very earliest but Tuesday at the likeliest. If they post it on Monday as they did for me with FM 2008, consider yourself extremely lucky. Usually they'll post such that you receive it on the day of release, copies permitting.
I'm still undecided whether to buy it from Play.com
I ordered a USB stick 2 weeks back and it was 'in stock' but it still took 5 days from placing the order (at about 10:00 in morning) to arrive.
Now that could easily be because I'm up in scotland, but even so, i'm gonna get it from shop on friday morning i reckon.

i pre-ordered family guy and got it one day after release, which wasnt so bad because thats when the postal strikes where in full. but now i think its safer to get it now, just wondering if play are selling it early, maybe due to some other company breaking the release date.

tihs only applies to the console versions and not the pc version as it still says pre-order on the play website.

If anyone hasn't ordered from play yet i would hurry up, its number 1 on ps3 and xbox 360's top seller list already! lol
if there is loads for one area royal mail wont deliver them all on the same day.when crappy new harry potter book came out each walk only had to take 4 of them.i dont know exactly how they knew what was inside like.....

its in gernesey or somehwere like that so they get copies very early inorder to get them to you on the day of release. normaly we get them a day early tho but oh well

I pre-ordered mine off www.gameplay.co.uk, and the despatch date is 24/10/2007 - 25/10/2007, it said ill hav it on day of release :)
I remember once i ordered PES4 of Play.com and i got it 2 days before official release. I'm sure it will happen to some of you guys, good luck though :).

Yep - hopefully they'll deliver the goods on Friday.
Their website states this for all pre-orders..."Despatched in time for delivery on release day."
They delivered Madden 08 to me on the Friday - despatched on the Tuesday or Wednesday I think.

i always order from gameplay.com, their warehouse is based in england unlike play.com, and every time i place pre order at gameplay.com i recieve on the day before so hopefully it will be on my doorstep thursday morning.
the only reason i am reluctant to order from play is because they are based in jersey and you can't always be sureit will get here on time

People just chill you will get your game. The thing is where you live and how good is your postal service is in your area.

Mine changed from "order placed" to "processing" this morning.
Should happen for everyone else today and hopefully will be dispatched today for a Thursday arrival! :)

i just cancelled my order from game and ordered it with play coz they actaully had the game in stock, so hopefully they will dispatch by the end of the day!

I wouldn't bank on it mate, Plays orders are generally despatched next day, not same day. Fingers crossed though... ;)

yes true they are dispatched within 24 hours of orders but pes was ment for this friday but you will get it on thrusday, like DJ_clue said it depends on your area's postal service.

If you ordered before friday then you will have it by weds if you ordered at the weekend or yesterday then you will still have it on friday.
i ordered mine a week or so ago off play.com and when i checked the status this morning at about 10am it said packing, but when i check now it says processing. surely processing comes before packing!? i'm confused!
anyone else had this?

Mine says packing at the moment. Hopefully that means it'll be here tomorrow. Maybe processing after packing means sending it or something.
yh but remember the postal strike has been on and they still gotta clear all that build up of post before they think about sending you pes

Mine has been posted today so should be with me on Thursday but may end up being Friday. I'm out on Friday night so I won't be playing until Saturday morning but that's fine with me.
I ordered my pes 2008 for xbox 360 of play.com and i have just received the email saying they have posted it to me today, but it said due to "industrial action by royal mail" it may be late. It then goes on to say please allow 3-5 days delivery! I didn't think that there was anymore problems with royal mail. Are they just exagerating just in case i don't get it on friday or is this a serious estimate???

Royal Mail workers have been striking. The strikes are now over however there will be a massive backlog of post which means that new deliveries may take longer to be delivered.

I have no clue, I don't know what the post offices are like strangely enough. Either way it's just a game.

Thats just standard. Its just you actually get items in approx 2 days.

i ordered a dvd that was due out on the monday and didn't get it till wed and that was after the strike
This is a crock of shit. I ordered mine on the 1st of October and its still ''order placed''. No payments been taken. Ill be lucky to have it by Friday now! Fuming.

In case you didn't realise, the likes of Take 2 are on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. Consider what great titles they've brought out and how the likes of Looking Glass and Ion Storm are no longer with us and then see what cheapskates such as yourself have contributed to. People who download games they intend to play regularly but don't pay for them make me fucking sick.

Yeah I hope so, I'm just disappointed after looking forward to playing it a day early. Oh and rather pissed off at Play for the messing around of my order status.
I think they posted some as early as Monday and I preordered on the 5th September...christ! how early do I have to preorder to get it in that shipment??? :O

Because I pre-ordered mine in August, like I said dispatched 24th.
I read on here some guy pre-ordered theirs last Sunday and it was dispatched on the 23rd....
What time was yours dispatched on the 23rd D0nkey?
Meh, no idea what time it was dispatched as I'm yet to get the confirmation email...my friend hasn't either so I'm taking that as normal.
I remember the status being 'packing' around 10am-ish, so probably midday dispatch at a guess. Shame they won't do next days or anything.

I ordered Monday morning. Got dispatched Tuesday but still isn't here. Liverpool's postal system sucks at the moment. I might go into town and try get it a day early but I fear disappointment.
mine still aint here and the postman has been here already.
I ordered on sunday and got the order has been posted e-mail yesterday before 9am.
I doubt it'll even arrive tomorrow

haha, had mine on pre-ordered for ages + got back from a camping trip to find me dads card has been declined due to the expirary date being incorrect. So i ordered it once again + it was sent out today first thing... gonna get mine saturday arnt i? :( ....
My brother pre-ordered my PES 2008 around the beginning of August from Play, as a birthday present. So therefore, it would probably be wrong to moan since I'm technically getting it for free, but jesus, it was ordered nearly 3 months ago, surely I should be getting it by Friday. I just pray these stupid flids of Postal workers manage to crawl to my front door with PES in hand. I've got a long weekend too, including Monday off so it would be perfect to receive PES on release date, it's not too much to fricking ask for surely.

Mine was posted on the 24th (got the email at 9.30am) and I got it today :)
got mine today. game works fine, I dunno what everyone is complaining about. theres no slowdown for me except intro scenes(very bad) and replays(much better since installed on HDD)
Mine was sent out wednesday and got in mail 2day :)
