Hi buddy. I don't really know why you can't find the file named unnamed_38.bin with AFS 3.7
I've had over 1200 downloads so far and no else seems to have this problem i'm sorry to say....
A workaround would be to open cv_1.img with Game Graphic Studio and in the folders that will appear in the left hand pane, open the folder called 0-99.
scroll down and you will either have a file called unnamed_38.bin OR GGS may call it Adboards_38.bin.
If it is called unnamed_38.bin, just right click on it, and then select import a file over this one, then select the file in the NEW ADS folder that you downloaded.
If GGS calls the file Adboards_38.bin, just rename the file that you downloaded to " Adboards_38.bin " ( Without the quotes), and then right click in GGS, Import a file over this one, and choose the renamed downloaded file.
Hope this helps....

To jayansell, when you try to open cv_1.img with afs explorer and the window pops up " Open afs file ", you need to go to the bottom of the window where it says "Files of type - .afs file " and click the downward arrow and change to " Show all files ", you will then be able to see your cv_1.img file.

Hello there, thnx for the update, I'm using GGS and following your workaround. however, there is no unnamed_38.bin in 0-99 folder and there is also no adboards_38.bin, there are adboards_19 and adboards_20.bin...are these the ones?
have looked at them on the download and they look cool....

Hello there, how did you get past the size issue on AFS Explorer or the bin files on GGS if you used that method...I would be very interested in your method of getting this to work......thnx

Hey Raven, have you added many other mods to your PES install?
The reason that i ask is the fact that my unnamed_38.bin file is actually SMALLER than the default Konami one.
I did this for 2 reasons, i optimised every adboard in the download so that there would be no impact on framerates and also to not nessecitate the need to enlarge any modified space.
@JayAnsell, are using Vista by any chance?
Oh yeah, whatever you do, adboards_19 and 20 ARE NOT where my .bin file should go.

Hi Raven,
I dont use asf explorer as everytime i try to import a file it says it is write protected, as you stated.
I use ggs and it installed fine, saying that i reinstalled pes 2008 tonight and went to reinstall the addboard and it now says - - file to big!
great job mate worked perfectly there brill!!!!

Well thats half true :)
Seems PES2008 comes in different versions in some countries or the patch changes this file or something. Point is that in my version of PES the file unnamed_38 (or adboards_38 as GGS calls it) is 1.918.976 bytes. Your file is 1.931.265 bytes, so its actually bigger from the one I have.
Anyway I found a solution for this using GGS 7.2.0 (might work for previous versions I dont know)
So open cv_1.img in GGS. On the left pane just above the list of the files u will see a search box. Just enter 38 there and it should open adboards_.38.
Right click the file and select the option Modify reserved space.
On the new window that will appear click on the textbox under "Select a name of the new ASF" and a popup window for save will appear. Input a name (DO NOT OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL cv_1.img) lets say cv_1mod.img
Now go to the radio button named "Reserve" and press the up arrow till the number on the box is higher than 1.931.265 (or enter the number yourself). I used 1.933.312 just to be sure.
Do not change anything else and press "Proceed".
After a while GGS will generate a new file called cv_1mod.img. Move the original file to another folder for safe keeping and rename cv_1mod.img to cv_1.img
That should do the trick :)
If you thing thats too much for you to do ask DrDoooMuk NICELY to make a smaller file for you :)

Okay tried all that and for some reason the size of my addboards in the reserve slot you mention was in its high 2's something (i.e 2733333) and after trying all day today nothing helped. I have AGAIN resinstalled and it now does state 1931265 so i changed to the number you recomended and imported the file and works fine.
Very strange as when i first installed yesterday i simply imported the addboard file straight in and worked fine, i reinstalled due to other problems and just couldnt get it to work. Not sure if the konami patch or other files available to download effect it but i did a clean install and installed this first and now works fine as i know with the konami patch the kit server program installs to the settings.exe but not pes 2008.exe.
Why do they make life so hard!
Thanks for the help gatos.
PS i use an earlier version of gss and worked fine (7.1.8)
I use AFSExplorer V3.7 and just click ok, than I can find unnamed_38.bin (The Length is 1918640, Max size 1918976), I right click import and choice download file unnamed_38.bin, just click ok to reserved space file, but just display 'Couldn't insert file. Check AFS file is not write-protected and there is enough reserved space for the file.' What can I do? Is this ok? Thanks for your supporting !!
For those having the size issue, I was having the same problem. The way I got around it was:
1. Clicked on the hammer in AFS Explorer and went to modify reserved space
2. Then scrolled down to unnamed_38.bin and click on it.
3. Then in the top right hand corner, held down the up arrow and changed the value to something in the 300000 range.
4. Then clicked "regenerate", clicked all files, then give it a different name like "cv_1_new.img"
5. After that I closed and re-opened AFS Explorer
6. Imported the NEW AFS file and then right clicked on unnammed_38 and imported the new file. This time I got no error messages. Then File > "Update".
7. Closed AFS, deleted cv_1.img, renamed cv_1_new.img
I try it, thanks a lot, wish me can do it!!
Thanx Seanmcq...good explanation mate, and it now works....but does it only show a few boards at a time..during master league I only get about 8 different ones throughout the match???

Adboards are stadium specific....They are also competiton specific.
I think that you will get different boards in the french league for example, a dutch league would be different again, It may even be language specific.
I assume that Master League has you playing in the same stadium for every home game that you play remember.....
If you want to change them at any time, just open cv_1.img in GGS, scroll down to _38.bin and you can then drag and drop whatever adboards you like from the adboard collection folder and change the one's in game.....
I can't really suggest much more than that until there is a fully working kitserver released.....If anyone can suggest a way to have different boards in EVERY stadium at any one time, then let me know.
This kind of limitation has been around since pes1.
" Trad Brick " had stadium specific boards and so did some other stadiums like san siro in older pes games.
There are only 4 out of the 15 stadiums in the new version which are stadium specific.
All i know is that the .bin file in my download, replaced about 80 of the 103 default adboards. I kept getting errors trying to replace the last 20 or so, but GGS 7.3.0 has resolved this issue.
very cool mod man shame about the fifa add that comes up lol

Yeah thats a laugh but you can change all the addboards if you want.
I've got a problem however,
using AFS explorer (v3.7) I followed exactly what seanmcq said so when I went to modify reserved space, in the top right hand corner with the up and down keys I held down the up key until it went up to the value you said (like in the range of 300,000) and rebuilt the AFS as a different name, obviously, and when I opened AFS Explorer again I import the new file and go to unnamed 38 it says there is still not enough room for the file and that I need to go back to modify reserved space...
help?
(Just if you wanted to know for unnamed_38.bin it states that the length is 1918640,which is coloured in green, and max.size is 3137536 in a different green)

they look brilliant - thanks for all the effort!
Only thing is I just played a game to test and for the whole game it showed only the heiniken ad board.... Did I do something wrong or is that a stadium specific thing again?.

Hi DrDoooMuk, Thanks for the addboards. I just requested them in Deckz thread earlier and now I come back to the site and see this thread.
Cheers! :)

Hey my first post on this board as wel
I've got exactly the same problem as quoted above. I've done the mod and tried on two different stadiums however im still getting the konami ad boards all across the stadium. Apart from the heiniken on which is roughly on the halfway line.
i've only tried in exibition matches so not sure if that it why. Going to try a league now.
ok tried all stadiums, all leagues. Still only get the heiniken ad on in the middle of ad boards and in the midle and at the end of boards behind the goals. done everything said to install properly b ut got no idea what is goin on?
