Name: Paulo Ferreira
Date of Birth: 18/01/79
Height: 182cm
Nationality: Portuguese
Number: 2
Position: Right/Central Defence
An unspectacular but consistent performer, Paulo Ferreira was once described by Jose Mourinho as “a player who will never be man of the match but will always score 7/10 for his individual display.”
He started his career in the Portuguese Second Division for GD Estoril Praia. He then moved to Vitoria Setubal at the start of the 2001/2002 season.
He was then picked up by FC Porto in the summer of 2002. He played 76 games for them, and also managed to win the UEFA Champions League, as he played every minute in their Champions League campaign. They also won the Portuguese Liga title that season too. He then was bought by newly funded Chelsea, and since had made 100 caps for them, scoring 1 goal. Very recently FC Cali II bought him from Chelsea at a very small fee. A very consistent right/central defender, and he will surely be a valuable player for FC Cali II.

He made six Bundesliga starts for the club before suffering an achilles injury in November that ruled him out for the rest of the season[4]; however, he was selected in a 30-man provisional squad for the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.

Date of Birth: 10/03/85
Height: 172cm
Nationality: French
Number: 24
Position: Defensive Midfielder
Diarra suffered rejection many times as a youngster. The first at FC Nantes, where he was deemed too "small and lightweight", at 5'8" and 9 stone, to succeed. Diarra admitted to thinking he thought his "football career was over". His next stop was Le Mans, where Diarra claimed they "didn't seem to care" about him. The Ligue 2 side then refused to supply the letter confirming his exit from the club, meaning Diarra would be helpless for 18 months. It has been said that Diarra faced a string of rejections that had initially made him return to school at the age of 16.
Diarra started his career at Le Havre, a French football team currently playing in the Second Division. A standout in his defensive midfield role, his reputation started to grow, and impressive performances saw his selection to the French U-21 squad. Along with the reputation came club interest, and Chelsea became potential suitors. With Claude Makélélé getting ever older, Chelsea's wide network of scouts tagged Diarra as the 'new' Makélélé and promptly paid £1m[3] for his services in July 2005.
