Giggs and Scholes are still your "go to guys".

Course!! Would yourather see 'run in circles' Fletcher aka token scot, 'can't pass' Carrick or 'the one hit wonder', aka 'the queen of wba' Richardson?

The old guard have still got class. Getting short on legs but still up with the best, if not the best in the Prem.

And yeah, i am fekkin biased.

It is going to be hard to replace them but with 1 or 2 shrewd buys they could be replaced. Although I believe that Giggs could go on for 1 or 2 more seasons and Scholes could go on for a while yet as he has never really had the pace to lose.

You're kidding me ? Carrick is great passer of the ball, if I'm not mistaken he had the most successful long range passes last season.

2 shrewd buys? Are you kidding. You will not replace Giggs and Scholes. They are two fo the greatest players you have EVER had. You won't replace Keane and I still wouldn't say assist wise you have replaced Beckham.

Who in the world could ever replace Giggs and Scholes? Those are once in a lifetime players. Well that is not to say you wont ever have better players than those two just that I doubt they will come along straight after.

You better win the Prem this year. It could be an absolute disaster if you dont.

I do feel for Fulham, but that's what you get if you miss good chances like they did. A massive 3 points for us given the big game next week, but if we play to our potential we can piss all over Liverpool - won't happen though, but COME ON LADS!

Fulham boss Coleman slams Man Utd fans
February 24, 2007

Fulham boss Chris Coleman has hit out at the make-up of Manchester United's fans.

Coleman watched United against Lille on Tuesday night and revealed: "I was sitting next to about 200 United fans and I never heard one Manchester accent.

"It was incredible. The sad thing nowadays is that you get a lot of fans who support certain clubs who are 500 miles away. Nobody supports their local team.

"When I was a kid, Swansea City were my team because I was a local lad but it is different now. Kids don't want to support Swansea or Cardiff or Scunthorpe. They support the clubs they see on the TV."

Such comments are unlikely to endear Coleman to United supporters who were already planning a "buy nothing inside Craven Cottage" protest over what they are being charged for tickets (£45 each compared to the £25 cost to Manchester City's visiting support), but their mood will be lifted if their team are nine points clear of Chelsea tonight.
Never a truer word spoken in my opinion. I know there's alot of true Man Utd fans. But there's far more gloryhunting cunts these days.

Bloody hell. I would've been delighted with the slender lead with 5 minutes to go before the game, but after having almost thrown away a 3 goal lead I was furious.

When Gunnarsson hit the bar it was almost as if the goal exploded. I'd jumped up, John Motson was in a fit and the crossbar was shaking like mad. Felt like a gamebreaker in NBA Street :\

But despite how good/bad we played, we're through after using only 2 or 3 first teamers to start with, something I could only have dreamed beforehand.

I think Richardson will be leaving but O'Shea and Fletcher no.They've been alright this season. And O'Shea set a goal too yesterday.I think they'll go only if we get good deals otherwise i don't see Fergie selling them. And Fergie will have to find a way to make Ronaldo stay at least another 3 years
because we don't want history to repeat itself...remember Beckham.

I'd like Torres to come but not for 27 mil. I think he's worth 15 mil not more. We've stil got ROSSI:w00t

As for Scholes replacement we've got Eikrem and C Evans(But it'll take time they are only 16) and we might get another dutchman Wesley Sneijder good player 21 years old and good at free-kicks too.Or even Bodmer. For Giggs' replacement there's Lee Martin and we might get Nani
that'll perhaps make CR7 cahnge his mind bout leaving or we might get Freddy Adu.

For our defence we don't really need anyone cuz Pique will be back for backup next season and after some years if everything goes well he'll be a legend playing along side J Evans. The future right back will be Phil Bardsley(he's been performing well) and left back there's Patrice.

For the replacement's they are when Giggsy,Scholesy and OLE will retire.I don't think we need another defensive midfielder cuz Carrick's becoming better day by day.And then our style of play will be too defensive.

Lille could appeal to the Court of Arbitration after Uefa rejected their protest about Manchester United's winning goal in the Champions League.
The French side were angry that Ryan Giggs' free-kick was allowed to stand to give United a 1-0 first leg win.

Uefa had rejected an intial protest by Lille, who followed up with an appeal, but that has also been turned down.

Lille hoped to get the goal and result over-turned, but Uefa's ruled there was "no proof of a technical error."

Uefa has also charged Lille with the improper behaviour of their players, who appeared to contemplate leaving the pitch in protest at United's goal.

Giggs's strike was the only goal of the first leg of the last 16 tie, with the second leg taking place on Wednesday 7 March.

A statement from Uefa's appeals body added: "Lille will have the possibility of making a further appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within three days of receiving notification of the Uefa appeals body's ruling."

On an incident-filled evening, United fans were involved in a crush scare in the Stade Felix-Bollaert and Uefa's control and disciplinary body will discuss the safety and security issues on 22 March.

Ferguson tells Mourinho 'shut it'
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has told Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho to "button his lip" for the rest of the season.

Ferguson also accused Mourinho of reacting badly when refereeing decisions have gone against the Blues.

The United boss said: "He's come out with stuff this week about us and I expected that.

"He's been talking about referees and I think he is the last person who should talk about referees."

Mourinho had claimed earlier this week that United's challenge for the Premiership and Champions League titles had been helped by a combination of good luck and controversial refereeing decisions.

United currently lead Chelsea at the top of the Premiership by nine points, having played a game more.

Ferguson's men could go 12 points clear with victory over Liverpool, as Chelsea do not play until Saturday evening.

Mourinho had drawn particular attention to United's Champions League win over Lille and their Premiership victory over Tottenham.

I think he should button his lip now for good for the rest of the season
Sir Alex Ferguson

But Ferguson responded: "His football club have been involved with so many things with referees over the years.

"It seems to me that if you contest something and they don't get their own way, there's something happens, whether it's referees or players threatened or something like that.

"It's an incredible club, so I think he should button his lip now for good for the rest of the season, " said Ferguson who claimed to have a dossier on Chelsea's misdemeanours.

"There's plenty of talk about Chelsea and referees and Jose and referees. I have a big catalogue on it but I'll leave that for another day."

Ferguson also condemned Chelsea's role in the brawl that marred their Carling Cup final victory against Arsenal.

He said: "I think the clubs have to hold their hands up, we've had to do it ourselves, we're not exempt.

"Over the years there have been situations we've had to control and we've had some feisty players."

I agree, if you actually watch the freekick Ronaldo is aiming it at the back post which is what players are told to do in a situation like that. He also knew that Reina is a bit dodgy under pressure so thought that hammering it in low at the far post was the best option to go for.

I wouldn't like the second bit for two reasons:

1) I look forward to games against City far more than the likes of Reading, Portsmouth, Charlton... etc. They mean something.

2) If City got relegated then they'd actually be one of the better sides in the Championship. Much more fun to watch them struggle in this league than do well in another.

Oh... and hi again.

If they were to get relegated, I'd like it to happen on the final day of the season and from a position that they were going to stay up. For example they're 1-0 up at half time and staying up but they conceed late on and get relegated. That would give me much more pleasure.

Top Gun

Well I know that he is definitely in the squad and with Saha out, Solksjaer out and Smith not 100% then he should be on the bench. I can't see him being brought on unless we are winning as he has never played in England before.

knowing SAF he'll do something liek play O'shea in the centre mid..push park out wide and play giggs/ronaldo upfront

I wouldn't mind seeing Larsson up top by himself with Giggs and Rooney working off of him, with Larssons excellent movement he should create plenty of room for those two to work their magic.

Predictions? I think 2-1 Boro. Not fussed if we go out as I'd rather win the league.

I reckon 1-1, Viduka and Yakubu are doing well at the moment.

Carrick and O'Shea.

It had to be that dirty, crying little bastard didn't it?

As for Rob Styles, why didn't he book Arca?

2-2 in the end, pretty poor peformance so we were lucky to get away with a replay. I wouldn't of been to bothered if we had gone out as the Premiership and CL are the priorities. We should be able to beat them at home.

2-2 not bad although we should of won imo. Carrick played brilliant, delivering some top quality balls to the forwards. Ronaldo played well again, although at times I thought he should of passed the ball. Rooney's goal was well taken' and was a good strike. I personally think that Boateng's handball penalty give-away was a penalty as he just placed both of his hands up. Maybe not deliberately to protect the face but you can't do that. I was getting annoyed in the last 5 mins on to why United didn't make a substitute. They should of bought Smithy on for Larsson, or maybe Rooney. We should beat them at home now.

Today proved that we still need one more good centre midfielder, O'Shea looked dreadful today. I don't see why he even plays in midfield, he can't pass very well and he isn't a great tackler so I don't see the reason he gets played there. Rooney had another poor game, apart from the goal he didn't do very much. He kept misplacing passes and his movement wasn't as good as it usually is.
