I doubt that.
I see, well that means Richardson future at Utd is over. If they were brought in to play on the wings then Giggs' position in the side is under threat.
What worries me is that I don't have a clue what formation SAF is planning to use next season.
Thank god for that :w00t

Only Chelsea buy the league though correct?
Now I expect a barrage of abuse for saying what is in fact correct, but I'm oh so anti-Man Utd though folks.
Only difference being is Man Utd have earned it through years of hard work on both the field and years of corporate brand building for them to become self sufficient to make purchases like this.

The difference being that Utd are investing in young players not like Chelsea who can spend 30m on Shevchenko. Also if Spurs would of signed Nani then nothing would of been said yet Utd do and we get accused of buying the prem..

I'd say thats a good reason to not harass them about buying the league. After all, Chelsea just happened upon some fund then next thing you know they are holding up a trophy they have not won in almost 50 years.

There are many options out there now for strikers. We could sign Viduka and keep Saha while praying he doesnt break again, swap him or sell him for 10-15 mil and add some change from a Keiran sale then get a 20 mil range striker (Huntelaar for slightly less I suppose). As for swaps I personally would look no farther than Lyon which is a French club I dont think Saha would mind joining and we could get Fred in return who is currently not in good terms with the club. Win-Win I say. If all else fails then sell Saha and get Alfonso Alves. God forbid Heinze gets sold for close to 10 mil we could probably scrape something together for two or those strikers.

10 will go to Hargreaves
12 to Anderson
17 Nani
if we have a striker hed get 10
There is no way we'll be paying £30m for the 2, not outright at least. In my view, it will be just over half of that sum at the moment which can rise to £30m providing we win everything. I'd be happy with Anderson coming, definetely, but I haven't seen Nani so can't really say.
So are we going to play 4-5-1 then ?
Guillermo
31-05-2007, 14:31
According to papers a large chunk of the 30m is based on appearances and performances (whatever that's supposed to imply). Hargreaves deal is officially done now, meaning we've spent in the excess of 47m.
If we sold Saha and Richardson (maybe Silvestre too) then I hope we have funds to get Huntelaar :w00t
We haven't enough money to go after the more expensive strikers like Torres, Berbatov.

31-05-2007, 14:41
United have spent £51m if you are to believe the papers.
That is a lot of money. I wonder whether Ferguson will sign more players for them. Seems like an unlikely scenario imo.
Well as Haribo said I expect 2 or 3 players to leave so that should generate some more money. If we signed Huntelaar now I would be happy, although I haven't seen Nani play he must be pretty good if Ferguson is willing to pay that much and Anderson is a pretty good player already. Hargreaves is always going to do a job so we know he will be solid enough.

Don't get too excited with the 2 youngsters.
I think Queiróz and Sir Alex will have a lot of trouble concerning Nani, the kid is a cocky SOB.
About Anderson I don't know, he seems a nice lad but, will he succeed in England? I mean, there aren't many brazilian players in the PL, because of their style of play. Brazilians need space to play and they are used to have a free role and absolutely no marking against them. Have anyone seen the pace of a brazilian game? It's everybody stopped and watching the guy with the ball do something.
With all that, I'm a little bit dubious about his performance at Old Trafford, but let's see what the future brings to Red Devils.

I suppose your opinion on Nani has nothing to do with the fact he came from your rivals ? ;)
I do think the Prem is too fast paced for some but it just depends on the player's ability to adapt. I mean Denilson for Arsenal has been a pearl this season it seems, a nice gem. So I believe it's definetely possible, and with the guidance of our coaches I can't see him failing to be honest, especially as he's young.

Shocking news in for a striker:
UNITED HOPE TO NIC TROTTERS STAR
Manchester United are reportedly ready to make an £8million move for Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka.
Owen Hargeaves has completed his move to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich for a fee of around £17million, while deals have been agreed for Anderson from Porto and Sporting Lisbon's Nani and now newspaper reports claim Sir Alex Ferguson will take his summer spending to almost £60million with a swoop for Anelka.
The Frenchman moved to the Reebok Stadium a year ago from Fenerbahce and has enjoyed a productive season, scoring 13 goals despite a slow start.
United have been linked with a host of top strikers including Fernando Torres, Dimitar Berbatov and Samuel Eto'o but the Daily Mirror claims the £50million spend already this summer means Ferguson has had to set his sights lower.
Anelka has already played for four other Premiership clubs, moving from Paris St Germain to Arsenal in 1996 for just £500,000 before being sold on to Real Madrid three years later for £23million.
After an indifferent spell in Spain, Anelka returned to PSG before moving to Liverpool on loan. The Reds decided against making the move permanent though, allowing Manchester City to snap him up in the summer of 2002.
Three successful years at United's rivals led to interest from a number of top clubs and Anelka opted to move to Fenerbahce before his £8million move to Bolton last year.

Quite interesting. He seemed to have put his attitude behind him last season for Bolton and had a good season. For £8 million I think it would be a good buy but definitely a risk. He has undoubted talent it is just whether or not he can harness it all.
EDIT: Maybe Saha could go as part of a trade deal.

True his attitude was better last season but probably something to do with Allardyce? I would love to see him at Trafford swapping with Saha too. If only that deal could go through, then only thing in mind is SAF dealing with his attitude Allardyce style. If all goes right and Anelka continues his good form, we have a very good striker for a reasonable price tag.
We too (Barça) are ment to be interested in Anelka. If he didn't have the attitude he could of really went places and won things.
French connection maybe next year at Barça. Henry and Anelka.
I hope we swap Saha for Anelka.

West Ham are reportedly set to make a bid for Manchester United winger Kieron Richardson.
The 22-year-old has endured a frustrating season at Old Trafford after turning down a permanent deal with West Brom last summer to try and become a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans.
Richardson dazzled in a loan spell with the Baggies during the 2005-06 campaign and even forced his way into the England squad.
But his decision to stay at United backfired badly last season, as he fell behind Gabriel Heinze and Patrice Evra in the left-back slot - and failed to dislodge Ryan Giggs from his left-wing berth.
Richardson shone in a central midfield role at The Hawthorns, and his versatility appeals to Hammers boss Alan Curbishley as well as a number of other top-flight managers.
His first-team chances suffered a further setback this week when Ferguson all-but wrapped deals for midfield trio Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves.
And the United boss may be happy to cash in on him as he bids to generate transfer funds for a new striker.
Former Red Devils defender Steve Bruce is believed to be keen on luring Richardson to Birmingham, and Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has money to burn and feels the United star could form a lethal left-sided partnership with Matt Taylor at Fratton Park.
Some good news on him at last.

Wasn't it Him , Patrick K and Rivaldo back then ?
He came during Gasparts era, I time I wish never exsisted. Lots of changing of managers he never really got a chance at Barça.
It's not that he isn't a great striker, the problem is that Rijkaard doesn't like him.

Spanish giants fight over Gabby
Gabriel Heinze expects to leave Manchester United for either Barcelona or Real Madrid following Argentina's Copa America challenge.
The 29-year-old left-back is available for around £5million after finding himself behind Patrice Evra in the United pecking order.
Heinze, who had a spell in Spain with Real Valladolid earlier in his career, is reported to have been in Madrid last week for talks with Real, but now Barca are keen.
Heinze said: "When the internationals are over, we'll see where I'll play.
"I don't know if I'll play for Madrid or Barcelona."
Heinze joined United in 2004 for £6.9million from French club Paris Saint-Germain, but despite an exceptional first season, his spell at Old Trafford has largely been hampered by injuries.
Juventus have been previously linked with a move, but with coach Didier Deschamps having left, it remains unclear if they will make a concrete offer.

It really does sound like he's leaving, though. I find the whole situation pretty weird, because it seems like he was happy here, and he's a quality left back, no doubt. Perhaps some of his recent performances have angered Fergie? Or perhaps he feels he's too injury prone? It's very strange. We have O'Shea to play on the left anyway.

Selling Heinze is up there with the flogging of Stam in my opinion and a bad move.
Well these rumours were flying about during January when he wasn't playing very much so now he is in the first team I don't think he would want to leave. If he does then we have Evra who had a great season and Silvestre who may be dodgy but can do a job.

I really hope Heinze stays. Just because he's had bad games doesn't mean he has to leave.

Morning
After my overly amitious sig with Scholes in a Sunderland shirt due to the talk of him moving with the number of New Players Man U have brought in, so when I got a spare few minutes I put PES on and this was my formation with the current players.
----------V D Sar----------
Nev---Ferd---Vidic----Heinz
--Carrick---Hargr---Scholes--
Ronaldo----Rooney----Giggs-
This formation would surely work although Rooney in Fergie's eyes is not a player to play up front on his own. So Scholes in my eyes will still play a big part this year, but who knows.
Don't you mean Parma? After his loan finished at Newcastle in January, Rossi moved to Parma on loan until the end of the season.
I knew all that mate, but If you never picked that up, L33ds who supports Man Utd didn't know that. On reflection I picked the wrong yellow face.
I can only hope to high heavens that Gabby isn't sold. He's a great Left-Back and we actually need him to an extent. Evra did have a great season but Evra and Heinze couldn't be any different from one another. Whilst Evra is attacking, Heinze is all about solid defending, and no doubt we still need solid defending. It would a sad day if he left, as he's also a fan favourite. Oh well, I guess I can continue to wear my Argentina shirt, but it won't be the same.

Ahh okay.
I think selling Gabbi would be bad, because he is a solid defender, and quite quick. I agree with those who say if one is to go it should be Silvestre.
If a left back needs to go then it's "Alien Head" Silivestre. Heinze shouldn't leave, he's not only a good left back, he can also play centre-back, his versatility has helped us lots of times when our defenders were out injured.
Even if he's short, he's got a good jump.
vanNistelrooy

So the best defensive attribute our "number one" left back is his ability to jump.
Wow.
We might as well sell Gabby and get in a few players from the NBA then.

Sorry, I thought he was talking about Evra (who's best defensive ability IS his leap).
Heinze hasn't looked the same player since his injury.
Sorry, I thought he was talking about Evra (who's best defensive ability IS his leap).
Heinze hasn't looked the same player since his injury.
Only reason he hasn't looked the same is because he hasn't been given a consistant run of form in the side. Providing he gets several consecutive matches under his belt for the new season, I can see him being a success again. It's a perfect combination between him and Evra, they both can't play at the same time, but they both are completely different Left-Backs which benefits the team greatly.

Portuguese star Nani has moved a step closer to sealing his move to Manchester United after passing his medical at the club.
United announced last week they had agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon for highly-rated winger Nani.
Nani travelled to England on Wednesday for a medical and a tour around United and he has successfully completed his medical.
The 20-year-old is now waiting to receive international clearance before putting the finishing touches to his move to Old Trafford.
Nani will link up with Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at United when the move is completed.

Anderson is a left back? I hope that's a mistranslation,
This is surprising. I never saw Anderson play as LB. Personally I think he's too good as an AM to be wasted as a LB. Like organizing play, setting up plays, creating spaces all that he can't really do as a side-back.
Imo he just said that to show he really wants some playing time and he's willing to play wherever the coach needs him.

De Visser has been asked by Blues owner Roman Abramovich to identify young talent to bring to Stamford Bridge, but has cast doubt on whether United's big-money signing can cut it in the English league.
Dutchman De Visser admits the 20-year-old midfielder has huge potential, but reckons his crossing lets him down and claims he holds onto the ball for too long.
De Visser, who recommended John Obi Mikel to Chelsea, told The Sun: "This boy is, as far as his skills are concerned, a super talent.
"He had his training with Sporting Lisbon and technically he is so good, he is almost perfect.
"But I also stress that despite all his talent he may not be right for the Premier League.
"His crosses are sometimes OK, sometimes bad.
"He dribbles too much with the ball because he wants to entertain, not because he wants to be effective.
"Cristiano Ronaldo had the same problem when he first played for United."

Manchester United have reportedly joined the chase for Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
Reports in Argentina suggest United have expressed an interest in the highly-rated keeper and that a club official has travelled to South America to hold talks with Independiente.
Ustari is regarded as one of the best young prospects in South America and has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
United are now believed to be hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring Ustari to Old Trafford.
Independiente president Julio Comparada says he has not had any contact with United regarding Ustari, but admitted they could consider any offer for the player.
"I have heard in the radio what has been said about that Manchester United are interested in our goalkeeper but I haven't received any offer yet," Comparada told the Argentine press.
"Maybe someone has got in touch with the player. We aren't doing anything for selling him because we aren't currently in a financial hurry.
"Anyway, if there is a proposal that is very interesting for the player and the club then we will analyse it."
Comparada is aware a number of clubs are chasing Ustari, but he insists Independiente are in no rush to sell their prized asset.
"We know that there are many European teams interested in our keeper but until we receive an official offer we can't say anything," added Comparada.
"And if there is an offer, we will see if we will accept it and if the team interested wants to pay what we want for the player.
"I think that the only way that we could sell Ustari is if it's real that Manchester United wants him because I am sure that any player would like to play there."

Manchester United striker Alan Smith admits he may leave Old Trafford if he fails to get assurances about his future from boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Smith, 26, has failed to command a regular first-team place since recovering from a broken leg.
He told The Sun: "If the manager tells me he wants me, I'm there for him. If he doesn't, it's time to move on.
"If you're no longer wanted, then you have to consider your options. I want to be out there from the start."
He revealed his future now lay in Ferguson's hands, saying: "If they are going to sell me, I'd like to know. But I won't find out unless I get to speak to the manager."
Smith, signed from Leeds United for £7m three years ago, has two years left on his current deal, but it is understood he has not been offered a new contract by United.
He battled back from serious injury to play last season and also win an England recall, and now wants regular action.
Middlesbrough, Spurs, Aston Villa and Rangers have all been linked with Smith, but Everton's interest has cooled.

Smith In Switch To Toon
Newcastle have won the race to sign Manchester United outcast Alan Smith in a deal worth around £3.5million. Toon boss Sam Allardyce made his move for Smith after the England striker made public his dismay at not being offered a new deal by United. But Allardyce failed in his bid to make it a United trio at Newcastle after the Old Trafford hierarchy rebuffed his attempts to sign defensive duo Wes Brown and Mikael Silvestre. Smith revealed his desire to stay at Old Trafford only last week but admitted he had received no assurances about his future from Sir Alex Ferguson, a revelation which sparked a scramble for his signature. Despite his reluctance to leave United following a £7million move from Leeds in 2004, Smith has been assured of regular football at Newcastle under Allardyce, something Fergie could not give him at Old Trafford.

No United bid for Italian
United have not voiced an interest in Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella, according to the player's agent.
The 23-year-old Italian international has been linked with Old Trafford in recent weeks but, although agent Silvio Pagliari claims United are interested, no move has materialised.
Pagliari told BBC Sport: "I know there's some interest from Manchester United. I'm very proud of it, as he is. But United have had no contact with me or with Sampdoria.
"He'd be keen on playing in England, for sure. We have many things to think of, as many big clubs in Italy too are interest in a player like Fabio.
"We can talk about Inter Milan, Juventus, Man Utd, Chelsea - this is no problem for the player as they are all massive clubs."
A host of strikers from across Europe have been linked with United ever since Chief Executive David Gill's admission that the Reds could be tempted into action if the right target became available.

It seem's that a striker will definitely be bought if Smith is actually sold to Newcastle. As there has been no bid for Quagliarella and it looks like he is going to Juventus that doesn't seem to be hapening. Eto'o is apparantly staying now so it probably won't be him. Most likely is Huntelaar, Tevez or Torres. Tevez and Torres both seem to be valued at around the £30 million mark and with the spending done already I think Fergie will be looking for someone cheaper and Huntelaar would be ideal.

Well, Sampdoria were looking at offers, but Udinese might not want to sell. It looks like he's happy in Italy, so if they want to keep him they will.

Buying the title and all of that jazz, rather Chelsea like don't you think? ;)
Difference being we are buying players who are young and will get better, Chelsea are able to buy 30 year olds as they have enough money to replace them after a few season's.

let him go fishing.
We've earned our money over the years, lets just leave it at that.
As for Huntelaar, I'd absolutely love him to sign here, especially with his goals per game ratio. He would be an excellent signing, and if we're lucky enough to capture him then I'd think we should be able to win the title next season again.

Rooney is overrated.
I don't think he is, he has so much potential. People has the tendency to burn players to the ground when they don't perform well for some time and forgetting what they have showed they can.
So is Richard's son is bad?

If he goes, I'd rather see him at Newcastle. Boro always play good against us even though they are shit in other games
Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi claims to have made an enquiry about the availability of United striker Giuseppe Rossi.
The 20-year-old Italian striker enjoyed a superb five-month loan with the Gialloblu last season, hitting nine goals in 18 starts as Claudio Ranieri's side narrowly avoided relegation.
Although Ranieri has since departed to manage Juventus, it seems Parma are still keen to take Rossi back to Serie A next season.
"We spoke with the player, with the Manchester United Chief Executive (David Gill) and with Sir Alex Ferguson, too," said Ghirardi. "Now it's up to them to give us an answer."
The Parma supremo admits his side face a difficult task in securing Rossi's services, despite alleging to have made a sizeable bid.
A host of top European clubs have been linked with him, while the player himself has stated a desire to prove himself at Old Trafford.
"Certainly it would be really difficult to keep the player, but we believe in this," he said. "From a financial point of view, we made our offer and I think it completely answers Manchester's expectations."

I'm not to sure about Rossi. He seem's to be right on the edge of whether or not he is good enough. He got 9 goals in 17 games for Parma last season which is excellent so I think he deserves a chance.
Oh fuck! Rossi really deserves a chance in the first team, I would not like him to go to Parma on a permanent basis.
Anyone watched Pique and Evans play?
hmm..
I haven't see Pique & Evans play but i think Pique is quite good..
