Already been denied by West Ham, who insist that he's not going anywhere. They are being complete cunts to be honest, the only reason they want to keep him is because if he goes they are in the shit. I hope that if they force him to stay, he goes on strike again.

Sky Sports News has learnt that Carlos Tevez will fly back to England next week to undergo a medical with Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Red Devils are hopeful of completing the capture of the Argentina striker from West Ham next week as his proposed move to Old Trafford has been held up by the ongoing issue of his registration.

But Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian is confident the contractual problems will be successfully been ironed out.

Tevez is currently preparing for the Copa America final against Brazil on Sunday but will return to England following the game to seal his switch to United having already agreed terms with the Premier League champions.

Joorabchian has told Sky Sports News that the 23-year-old will fly back on Tuesday before having a medical with United the following day.

"Carlos is going to come on Tuesday to do a medical on Wednesday at Manchester United," Joorabchian said.

"Hopefully we'll get all the administrative issues sorted next week and I hope everything will be okay, we don't foresee any problems.

"We spoke to Manchester United tonight (Thursday), they are quite confident we can have him registered by next week.

"Personal terms between Carlos and Manchester United have been agreed in full."

Joorabchian admits Tevez is slightly saddened to be bringing to an end his spell as a West Ham player, but says it was agreed last summer that he would only spend one season at Upton Park.

"Carlos is a little bit sad because in terms of West Ham he felt very attached to the club last year," he added.

"He helped them, along with the other guys at the club, to get them out of the relegation battle which I think they did a fantastic job towards the end of the season.

"He's a sportsman, he doesn't really understand all the administrative bits and pieces, but he knows he's not in any way fighting with West Ham or demanding anything.

"He loved his time there and it was kind of mutually agreed he would be there for a year and he was there for his year, he served his year."

West Ham have dismissed claims that striker Carlos Tevez is set to complete his move to Manchester United.

Representatives for the Argentine, 23, say he will have a medical at Old Trafford on Wednesday when he returns from Sunday's Copa America final.

But West Ham are said to be bewildered by the latest statements on the future of Tevez, calling them irresponsible.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson remains "hopeful" a deal can be reached to take the striker to Old Trafford.

He said: "I think we have got the player - we think he's our player and are very hopeful.

"Everyone was excited when we thought we could get Tevez. He's exciting, his form is fantastic and at 23 he can get better."

Personal terms are understood to have been agreed and United have agreed an initial loan deal to sign Tevez.

The Premier League has insisted West Ham, who hold Tevez's registration, must receive the majority of the fee rather than Kia Joorabchian, who owns Tevez's economic rights.

A spokesman said: "Any deal for Carlos Tevez has to be done directly with West Ham United.

"They hold the registration and we will not transfer the registration unless a deal is done directly with the club."

West Ham were only allowed to keep playing Tevez last season after assuring the Premier League all third-party clauses in the player's contract had been severed.

But Joorabchian is confident he is on sound legal footing to push the transfer through.

"We don't see any problems. I spoke to United on Thursday and they are confident they will have him registered next week," said Joorabchian.

"Carlos will come on Tuesday, have a medical on Wednesday at United and hopefully we will have administrative issues sorted next week.

"Personal terms between Carlos and United have been agreed in full. He feels confident now he is a Manchester United player."

Joorabchian said the time was right for the former Corinthians striker to leave Upton Park.

"Carlos is a bit sad as, in terms of West Ham, he felt very attached to the club last season," he added.

"He helped them out of the relegation battle but he is a sportsman, he doesn't understand the administrative bits and pieces.

"He knows he is not fighting with West Ham or demanding anything.

"He loved his time there and it was mutually agreed he would be there for a year and he has served his year.

"He feels confident now he is a Man United player."

I don't have a clue what is going on now.

Now I'm no expert on the situation as because the whole situation is so shady nothing is being made public, but the FA saying that is just trying to make them look better. West Ham didn't pay for him as far as I know, and making them get any transfer fee is like the FA trying to say West Ham did indeed own them all along, which doesn't seem to be the case.

I also saw on SSN yesterday that MSI claim Tevez' loan deal with West Ham is now over :erm:

With that formation we have plenty of cover for all positions. Rooney isn't a lone striker but I think that we would have Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes moving into the box at the same time. We don't need an out and out goalscorer.

Chelsea won the league twice in a row without one.
We won the league last year without one.
Liverpool won the Champions League without one.
Chelsea got one, and failed to win the league.

It's an absolute myth that you need an out and out goal scorer to be successful, it's exactly what we DON'T need. It limits our play, because with that sort of player you have to play through them. We scored 123 goals in all competitions last season, so there is no problem. I can see a Tevez/Rooney partnership working like a dream, I hope we get him.

Messi and Rooney are totally different players though. Rooney is much stronger and actually wins a lot of headers that he goes up for. Also Argentina don't have much pace in their side so Messi and Tevez wouldn't of been getting much help up top quickly, whereas we would have Ronaldo, Giggs and Nani helping out with Scholes playing much higher up the pitch now we have Hargreaves.

That is debatable.

Bridge was on form for Chelsea before Cole arrived but was replaced - probably un-fairly.

The RB and LB are used in a much different way at Chelsea than at United. They push up much further in United's formation comapred to Chelsea's where they sit back more. Compare A.Cole at Arsenal and now at Chelsea.

I rate Henize a better player than Cole incidentaly.

Problem is when we had RVN who was a goal scorer the team was more focused around him....since he has gone Utd seem to attack more in numbers, i mean look how many different players scored last season.

Yes, exactly. We lived and died by how well Ruud was playing. If he was off form, we lost, if he wasn't playing, we looked lost. I love the guy, he's one of the best goalscorers we've ever had, but we're a better side without him.

Top Gun

That's the only problem I have with Saha. When he is fit he is a very good player, he had a record of better than 1 goal every 2 games last season. Apparantly we are in the hunt for this guy,

Juan Pablo Carrizo's agent claims both Manchester United and Manchester City have made bids for him.

Carrizo is already the subject of an offer from Lazio, whilst Real Zaragoza have just entered the bidding.

The Argentine international, 23, is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in South America and he looks as if he could seal a move to Europe this summer.

Now it is claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson and Sven Goran Eriksson have locked horns for the first time since the Swede arrived in Manchester.

"The player also has offers from Manchester United, Manchester City and Lazio," Jose Alberti told GRT.

"The decision is now with the club but the kid has told them he wants to move to Europe.

"He is a complete player and can do everything, he has a big future."

I would of thought that a goalkeeper would of been the last thing on Fergie's mind. We already have Foster, Van Der Saar and recently Kuszczak has signed permanantly. Unless Foster is going back out on loan I don't see the point.

latest on Tevez

Carlos Tevez is going to Fifa in an attempt to secure his move to Manchester United.

The Argentina international is currently in Manchester as he waits to undergo a medical with the Premier League champions.

West Ham United have prevented the tests taking place after talks between the two clubs failed to bring about a resolution to the impasse.

The Hammers insist no offer has been made for Tevez, although The Red Devils have expressed their optimism that a deal can be arranged.

The problem centres on the striker's contractual situation, with West Ham seemingly holding his playing registration and his agent Kia Joorabchian holding the economic rights.

Only last week, Fifa confirmed it would be prepared to intervene in the matter, if asked to by any of the parties involved.

Tevez has now taken the issue in to his own hands and has called on world football's governing body to wade into the complex affair.

He wants Fifa's Disputes Resolution Chamber to rule on the subject as Tevez looks to free himself from his West Ham contract.

But yes of course they have won more then us in recent times, isn't that a little obvious though.

This still doesn't change the fact that their new all red T-shirt sucks ass.

It's a load of shit.

Arsenal have barely any money to spend. I think I'd rather believe Wenger than Hill-Wood.

Wenger said himself that Arsenal may have to sell to buy. And he was right.

My Ian Harte bleeds for you. :crymore: I know lets build a stadium so we can blame the lack of cash on that.

Teams will do it again. Chelsea was one game away from doing so a couple years back. The gap in quality between the big three and the rest is getting wider and I can see it happening again in the next few years

I could easily say the same for the Treble which is a much harder achievement.

20-07-2007, 10:26
Yes you could say the same thing I won't argue with that. But history has shown that the team on top form normally gets close to the winning the double anyways and now with the English sides over taking or at least matching the top European sides, the treble is much on the cards again.

But winning the league unbeaten, that's like 38 games in a row. Way harder and well more tricky..

I wouldn't say so. Not losing to 2 or 3 top quality teams in the Premiership can't compare to beating the same teams plus beating Europe's finest. We lost 4 games during the Treble season, including League Cup. I would be interested to see how many games Arsenal lost in all competitions during the Invincible season.

Dong Fangzhuo has flown into Macau to join up with his United team-mates following China's exit from the Asian Cup.

The Chinese national team were knocked out of the competition on Wednesday after losing 3-0 to Uzbekistan.

Sir Alex confirmed the 22-year-old striker has been reunited with the Reds but said that he will not be involved in the team's remaining two matches during their Far East tour.

"He needs his rest after being involved with the Asian Cup for the past three weeks," explained the United boss. "He's a good young player and we have high hopes for him."

The Reds take on Shenzhen FC at Macau Stadium on Monday night in the third of their four-game Asia trip.

No, Evra is a very good player. He attacks very well and makes good passes. He can't defend well and makes very good forward runs so he is more of Left Wing Back than a Left Back. I've noticed that he plays better when Gary Neville is playing. Anyone else noticed that?
