Nani scored on his debut! Nice goal too, good pass from Giggs.
The second goal from Rooney was a beaut, though. So was Fletchers outside of the foot pass to Rooney for the first.
3-0 after 30 minutes.

It's a bit of an unknown, as both he and Anderson were signed for a combine £30m (despite playing for different clubs). Some sources say it was £13m for Nani, some £17m. So it could be anything around that area.

Scholes is going to be out for a 2-4 weeks, this will mean missing the Charity Shield and maybe the first couple of Premiership games. It is a huge loss as last year we had a great start to the campaign and this could hinder that happening again. This could mean Carrick moving up into Scholes' position or maybe Anderson coming straight in.

EDIT: How good was Eagles' strike
I reckon that we could see a bit more of Eagles this season, Ferguson has been playing him in the friendlies where he has done well. He seem's to have a good finish on him, his two goals in the friendlies have been good and his goal against Everton during the end of the season was a beauty. When he shoots and crosses he reminds me a lot of Beckham, his delivery isn't as good as Beckham's but he has more pace. It is only friendlies so you can't tell how good he is but I think he can do a good job in some of the lesser games and coming off of the bench if needed.

Eagles needs a chance, and he does remind you of Beckham a bit, just not as good.
Dong is half the player Rossi is, and he looks to be on his way, so don't expect much out of Dong. He looked waaaaay out of his league when we played Chelski. He just looked stiff and didn't know what to do with the ball when he got it.

I was fortunate enough to watch the Man Utd / Shenzhen game in Macau last night.
I can totally understand why PL teams come out here for their pre-season friendlies. The weather is extremely humid, but that didn't seem to have any effect on any of the United players.
The first half goals from Rooney and Nani were a joy to watch, Nani looked very pleased with his first goal for the Champions. Chris Eagles looks like a great prospect for the future and scored a spectacular volley.
The only negative was Wes Brown's attempted clearance in the first half, which would have resulted in a goal had the opposition been more clinical in their finishing.

Fifa will not rule on Tevez saga
Fifa has recommended that the Carlos Tevez dispute should go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Argentine striker wants to join Manchester United, but West Ham and businessman Kia Joorabchian both claim to own the player.
The Football Association asked the world governing body to rule on the matter but a Fifa spokesman said: "The recommendation is to go to CAS."
CAS is yet to comment on whether it will hear the case.
United are expected to pay up to £30m for Tevez, but the transfer has reached an impasse over who should receive the fee.
Tevez is registered as a West Ham player, but Joorabchian claims he still owns the striker's economic rights and is therefore entitled to the transfer fee.
However, West Ham ripped up an agreement they had with Joorabchian - which broke Premier League rules - and they now claim any deal with United can only go ahead with their say-so.
The Premier League, which is also insisting that any fee must go to West Ham, met with Fifa and the Football Association on Monday to discuss the issue.
Fifa spokesman Andreas Herren said: "Under the circumstances it was felt it would be in the best interest of all parties to take this course.
"It looks like being the fastest way of resolving this matter.
"It is not a refusal by Fifa to get involved, quite the contrary. It is a recommendation by Fifa to opt for this way."
Nice work Fifa.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Middlesbrough are keen on signing striker Alan Smith.
Smith is thought to be mulling over his options at Manchester United as he goes in search of regular first-team football next season.
With competition for places at Old Trafford likely to be fierce, Smith could find himself well down the pecking order.
Gareth Southgate has stepped up his bid to sign the former Leeds man and is offering him the chance of playing regularly in the Premier League.
Ferguson hinted recently that Smith may be allowed to leave United if a club comes in for him and that has reignited Boro's interest.
Southgate has requested permission to speak to Smith with a view of thrashing out a deal for the England international.
Meanwhile, United youngsters Giuseppe Rossi and Gerard Pique will not be leaving United this summer, according to Ferguson.
Rossi and Pique had spells on loan at Parma and Real Zaragoza respectively and both clubs wanted to sign the players permanently.
"The lads going away proved themselves," Ferguson told the club's official website. "Giuseppe scored nine goals in 16 matches for Parma and the consensus is that he kept them up. Everyone says that.
"Gerard played 24 games for Zaragoza and did exceptionally well. We got all the videos of the players and watched what they did in training. They will certainly come back.
"Hopefully now we have a strong enough pool of players. That's one of the reasons I was keen to get the young lads who were away on loan last year back at the club.
"They will develop better with us. They may play more regularly away on loan, but training with us and being part of the squad brings them on immeasurably."

Just watched Guangzhou vs Man Utd.
First of all, what a beauty of a goal by Nani!!!
You can say whatever you like about the opposition being weak, but that goal was executed with sheer perfection. You will have to go some way to see a better one this pre-season.
I don't know much about Lee Martin but he scored a scorcher. The commentator said that he was predominantly left footed, he must have some left foot to have scored a goal like that with his right!
Cristiano Ronaldo came on for Rooney for the last 15 mins. What a talent he is! He doesn't do things by half, he confused the home team with his step-overs and was skillfully flicking the ball to his team-mates.
I can't think of any negatives from this game, I don't ever recall Guangzhou having a shot at Utd.

Says Sir Alex Ferguson of Gabriel Heinze:

A moral standpoint that would be quite admirable, if Sir hadn't accompanied it with the following observation on Carlos Tevez:

Its not so much to do with where he goes, but surely you can see how unfair United are being towards him? Its not helping when you hear United fans moaning about how West Ham so let Tevez leave either.
United fans see Heinze as awesome, and have been pretty much in love with him since he joined and showed passion for the club. In terms of the fans, I don't think any wrong-doing has been happening. I just don't see what the fuss is about really, obviously we wouldn't want to sell to Liverpool, especially if we can sell him abroad. Or not even sell him at all for that matter. I highly doubt Liverpool would sell top players to us either, whether it be due to the rivalry or that we're both title contenders. It's not hard to understand for either party.
It's just showing no real loyalty from Heinze if he's said he wants to move to Liverpool. That's what fucking everybody off.
As for Tevez, I'd rather have Huntelaar to be honest, better striker and less hassle. But if we're able to get Tevez for free as reported then it wouldn't be bad. Unfortunately it's only going to be a loan, even if it is for 4 years or so, we'll probably never own him so it's just a bit annoying really. Far too much controversy surrounds it for it to be good news for the club, there's obviously some form of illegal activity involved.

Because West Ham aren't trying to hold on to him because they don't want to sell a key player to a rival. They're trying to hold on to him because they can't sell him without admitting they lied to the league about tearing up the MSI contract. They're doing it to cover their own cheating, not because they want to keep the player.
Besides, no-one is complaining about West Ham not letting him go. West Ham want him to go, MSI want him to go, United want him to join. The matter currently has NOTHING to do with Man Utd. Heinze has NEVER said he wants to go to Liverpool, it's all been his agent. We don't know the terms of that agreement though, rumour has it that it was just a gentlemans agreement, which is where all the fuss is coming from. It clearly wasn't part of his contract. If he wants to play first team football, why doesn't he fight for his place? Doesn't he think he's good enough? If he really wants to leave for that reason, he's a total bottler. If there's another reason, well, I'd love to hear it.

30-07-2007, 23:36
I agree that he's attitude is pretty shit as he's clearly not willing to put any sort of effort in into winning his place back, but I just feel the behaviour of SAF has been fairly poor, especially given how he wants West Ham to agree to the sale of Tevez.
And yes, I realise there are differences, but you can draw parallels, between the two.
Oh well, we'll all see how it pans out, but I'd have thought it'd be better for you to get rid of him anyway.

No, I can see us selling him for a cut price to Juve on the last day of the transfer window, though. After all this, I'm not sure he can play for us again.

Fergie obviously just doesn't want to sell him to our biggest rivals, it's quite that simple really.
Whereas with the Tevez saga, no one fucking knows what's happening there. Not even the FA since they seemed to have fluffed everything up with regards to it.

There's no problem with letting him go, just letting him go to any of the top three rivals in our league, compound the fact that it's Liverpool (i.e. not just because they are title rivals). Heinze would strengthen any team in the world because of his quality (with the exception of maybe Chelsea as they already have two quality left backs). Why would you want to strengthen your nearest rivals? Plus, SAF doesn't want to sell him, he's merely doing so because Heinze doesn't want to stay.
As I understand it he was told that was the price for a foreign club. Shame on him for a not fighting for his place and b kicking up such a fuss when we say no to Liverpool.

The Carlos Tevez dispute will go to a hearing at the High Court on August 22 unless West Ham United can agree an out-of-court-settlement with the players representatives.
The club's lawyers have put forward a deal to the striker's advisers which could end with the Hammers picking up several million pounds.
Tevez's representatives Media Sports Investment are suing West Ham for £30million for breach of contract after they terminated third-party agreements regarding the player in April.
However, it would suit all parties if a deal could be reached as a case in the High Court could take months to hear.
Talks are continuing between the three parties to see if an agreement can be reached that would allow the Argentinian's move to Manchester United to go ahead before the start of the season.
West Ham's lawyers have put forward a suggestion which would see the club receive a sum totalling several million pounds in compensation for agreeing to release Tevez's registration.
The Premier League have to be satisfied that West Ham are receiving an adequate sum and chairman Sir Dave Richards, chief executive Richard Scudamore and general secretary Mike Foster spent several hours yesterday discussing the proposal.
The league have to be able to demonstrate to the other 19 clubs that they are operating under the scenario that Tevez's is contracted to West Ham and that the club are not controlled by the original third-party agreements that caused the Hammers to be fined £5.5million by an independent disciplinary commission.
The original contracts only contained agreements for West Ham to be paid £100,000 if Tevez moved on, but if the striker's agent Kia Joorabchian agrees to the settlement they could get around half the amount they were fined.
West Ham have resigned themselves to losing Tevez but are keen to get an agreement rather than continue paying £1.75million annual wages for a player who will not turn out for them.
Can't be arsed even hearing about it anymore. I shall block all Tevez news out until I hear he has officially signed for us or not from a friend. Easiest way really.

What Stormrider said.
Manchester United will have the option to buy-back Giuseppe Rossi in the future, manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.
Villarreal have signed Rossi for £6million after the Italian Under 21 striker decided he needed regular first-team football this season.
Rossi has signed a six-year deal with Villarreal and will replace former United striker Diego Forlan at the Spanish club.
The 20-year-old could find himself back at Old Trafford in a few years after Ferguson confirmed the clause in the contract.
Ferguson did his best to try and persuade Rossi to stay, but is content with the option to bring him back to United in the future.
"We have put in a clause in the contract, so maybe he will come back to us at some stage," Ferguson told MUTV.
"We wish Giuseppe well and we know he will do well at Villarreal.
"It was a difficult decision to let him leave. I had several meetings with him to try and convince him that he would get plenty of football with us this season and all he needed was a bit of patience.
"But, having been on loan last season, he wanted first-team football all the time."

In light of this transfer, I can only presume that the Tevez situation will be concluded some time soon.

This Tevez saga is doing my head in. Just my opinion, as I think that we do need another Striker for this upcoming season, seeing as Rossi has gone, Saha will get injured within 6 games and Ole is still injured, is he not ?
Also, I seriously hope that Heinze stay's. His attitude is sucky in terms of that he doesn't wan't to stay and fight for his place. Evra is better then him, Yes, but Heinze will surely play a good handfull of games next season, as we're bound to have injury's.

Manchester United have signed a gifted nine-year-old after his grandfather sent the Premier League champions a DVD showcasing the boy's talents which has become a YouTube sensation.
Rhain Davis, who was born in England but has lived in Australia since the age of four, was hailed by the British press on Thursday as the next Wayne Rooney after the United striker.
The boy's dribbling and goalscoring prowess for an Under-10 side in Brisbane, Australia, feature in a four-minute YouTube clip, already viewed more than 800,000 times.
United confirmed the signing but played down the hype around Davis, who has moved back to Cheshire in northern England with his father, near the club's training ground.
"He's a member of our academy and we don't comment on individual members," a United spokesman told Reuters.
He added that the club sign about 40 players of Davis's age every year and, as is standard, will decide annually whether to renew his contract or release him.
What was so unusual in Davis's case was that his skills were brought to the attention of United's youth scouts by the DVD submission, which could inspire other hopefuls, the spokesman said.
"We're bracing ourselves for a whole series of DVDs," he added.
Davis has been thrilled at the chance to rub shoulders with some of his idols.
"The best part has been meeting lots of players like Wayne Rooney," he told British newspapers.

Juan Sebastian Veron has warned Carlos Tevez that life at Manchester United is not always easy.
Tevez has been the subject of a summer-long transfer saga between his current club, West Ham, and the Premier League champions.
United are hopeful they are close to completing the deal, but former Red Devils midfielder Veron has told Tevez he is not guaranteed to succeed at Old Trafford.
Veron joined United in 2001 for a then British transfer record fee of £28.1million, but he failed to live up to expectations and was shipped out to Chelsea two years later.
Speaking from that experience, Veron admits he has explained to Tevez about the pressures he could face at United. "To triumph at the club is not easy, even if you are a superstar," Veron told The Sun.
"Some players leave because of the enormous and constant pressure. Carlos will find that United is not like West Ham in any aspect.
"The change will be enormous and if things do not go well he could suffer a mortal fall in fortune.
"If a player has good fortune from the very first day everyone is positive. But, if problems appear it is not so easy to triumph.
"The only possible goal there is success. Second place is failure and this burns deep into every player and can affect you."

Carlos Tevez will become a Manchester United player today after a remarkable £2million deal was struck that blew apart any pretence that West Ham ever owned him.
The Daily Express has been given full access to the sensational financial deatls that aallow Tevez to move from West Ham to Old Trafford via third-party owners, Media Sports Investments and Just Sports Inc. The Hammers receive a mere £2m for a world-class striker, who is valued in excess of £35m.
But they won't get a penny from Old Trafford. Their "fee" will come direct from MSI and Just Sport. Tevez, meanwhile, gets £90,000 a week and joins the most famous club on the planet.
United will pay £10m for a two-year "rental" from the third-party owners of Tevez, with the option to purchase him outright for more than £20m.

Nice kits mate.

I think O'Shea would do better up there.
