hey i always wonder, when i play against man utd in pes theya always use solskjaer as a sub from either rooney or other midfielder maybe, but i`ve seen him since a long time in man utd, whats wrong with him, im sure hes injured but how bad, when he will be back? cause i really dont like using player wich arent playing on real life.
just wondering
he wont be back soon unfortunately mate.....hes out for the season i think..
i hope he actually make it back..i supposse there is a possibililty that he wont even make it back at all....but thats not the way to think...
Solskjaer is an unbelievable player and his injury is very unlucky...he has been very loyal towards United and he deserves at least another season with us....i also hope he comes on or starts most matches when back...
as Fergie said that Solskjaer is the best finisher of the ball in the club..

i didnt kno SAF rates him that highly for his finishing, i thought RVN would be the best finnisher at UTD, he (Ole) could hopefully return by seasons end.

Giggs.
Beckham was Keane's vice captain and next in line was Giggs, then Gary Neville.
Ferdinand does have the leadership ability to become United's next skipper though, that has to be said.

i would have thought it would have been Rio because I've seen him captain a fair few times also Gary has aswell.

Maybe Giggs wasn't playing then too.
Ferdinand should be United's captain in years to come. Only 25 or 26 this world-class defender, whereas Gary is 30, and Keane and Giggs are already into their 30s.

Same here I don't think Rio will go anywhere I think Man U suits him and also it would be better if he was captain because he has more years ahead of him. Anyhow Giggsy is on now so it should get intresting.
2-0 to Manchester united. Man utd on a brilliant run plus beating Man city is always nice. Bring on AC Milan hopefully Ruud van nistelrooy will be back for it, hes meant to be back in training on Tuesday.Rooney keeps scoring, he played well in his lone role upfront.

Ruud is up Fer sale
Manchester United will listen to offers for Ruud van Nistelrooy - to generate the funds for a summer swoop for Atletico Madrid's Fernando Torres. Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-term admirer of the 20-year-old Spanish international striker who has scored 10 goals in 22 La Liga appearances this season. But it will come as a shock that United boss Ferguson is now willing to sacrifice Van Nistelrooy to bring Torres to Old Trafford.
Simon Mullock, Sunday Mirror
OH NO.....will anyone be interested in Ruud, he hasnt played agame in almost three months. Torres in UTD colours will be a blessing but in Ruuds expense when hes at his prime :(:(....

where is the first game?? if it is in milan, then i think man u have a better chance.. they cna gett he jump on them.. get a 1 - 0 against a side struggling at the moment.. and then come back to OT with 1 away goal.. as they will pick up in the 2nd if the lose..
AgentZero
15-02-2005, 05:33
unfortunately the first leg is at OT so if milan wins then theyd have the away goal/aggregate advantage, man u need to win convincingly(sp?) if they are to have a comfortable 2nd leg. nonetheless we just need to keep milan from scoring.
First leg is at Old Trafford.
As far as I know, we tend to lose all of our knockout ties where the 1st leg is played away. I'm sure we've lost more ties where the 1st leg is away rather than at home. Look at the 98/99 season for example. We played the 1st leg of both the quarters and semis at Old Trafford and we went through to the final that year.
Just last year aswell, we played Porto away in the 1st leg and we ended up losing the tie. I think Dortmund was another in 96/97, Monaco in 97/98, Real Madrid in 99/00, Real Madrid in 02/03. The only exceptions being the Bayern Munich tie in 00/01 where we played the 1st leg at home and lost the tie, and the Leverkusen tie in 01/02 again where we played at home first but eventually lost on away goals.
So if you look at it that way, it definitely looks as though we have a better chance of going through when we play the home leg first especially against italian opposition. I wouldn't be too confident though if we got a German team in another tie.
Against an Italian team Ill rather have United playing at home in the 2nd leg.
Otherwise you'll never guess what sort of fortress the Italians would have in defence for your retun leg. An away goal in Italy is seldom guaranteed.
My wildest dream come true (regarding the manu - ac milan matches):
(fair disclosure here - I hate both teams equally)
Just check out all those great possibilities:
1. If Milan humiliates Man U I'm happy and I get to see great goals
2. If Man U humiliates Milan I'm happy and I get to see OK goals (:D)
3. If both teams start getting rough there is a chance for yellows and reds effective for the next stages
4. If both teams start getting REALLY rough there is a chance for (please god please) injuries.
MUAHAHAHAHAH!!!

I would say United score more sensational goals than the Italian club.
Scholes can strike from range, van Nistelrooy can score from tight angles, Cristiano Ronaldo can swerve in a curler, Rooney can hit a thumping volley etc...
Who scores goals for Milan in the Champions League??
Usually only Shevchenko and Kaka, and somtimes Crespo, though they are seldom spectacular.

'also I think they said Rooney Rooney whats the score.' I wanted him to score for some strange reason.
I remember the Man United game at home, first game of the season. Kezman was warming up and we were 1-0 up. Sang 'Kezman, what's the score' and he didn't understand so he just clapped us. Then we launched into 'Speaking fucking English, why don't you speak fucking English....' - Parker trotted along a few minutes after, we asked him what the score was and he just clapped us again. So he got the 'speak fucking English' treatment as well. Of course, it was all light-hearted banter, they both speak fluent English.

Or because ever since Mourinho's arrival, Sky have tried to stick microphones all around the technical area!
But still, the atmosphere's suffered quite a lot, not on a par with Old Trafford or the noise-forsaken Highbury, but it's disappointing. We still get a good atmoshphere for the big games though, and our away support is class.

First Chelsea match: Southampton at home 93/94. 2-0. The last season of the old Shed End. Also the last time there was a pitch invasion at the Bridge. Quarter final against Wolves. I think I was wearing a shirt with Stein on the back at the time.

lmao, Mark Stein. They were the days. I remember Choccy McClair for us :p
First game I saw was 03/12/1994 vs Norwich, the King scored. Then we lost to Forest (Stone and Collymore, god that was some time ago). Think next was home vs Villa, Andy "1 in 5" Cole got his first goal for United. Then was the amazing 9-0 over Ipswich, remember my Dad telling me I'd never witness anything like this again, he was bloody right and all.
On the topic of the FA Cup, I think Chelsea were a bit unfortunate. Newcastle weren't that good, I think Laurent Robert saw someone in row Z that he didn't like :p. Big gamble from Mourinho at HT, but who saw an injury coming as early in the second half?
I don't agree with Arsenal tearing apart Sheff Utd though. If Wenger was that serious about the competition he would have played a few more first team players. I believe the replay is inbetween the two Bayern Munich games, so bye bye FA Cup for Arsenal. The FA Cup seems to be the taking for Man Utd, although I wouldn't fancy an away draw against Newcastle in the next round, not with Titus playing like he is :p

I was shocked that Carroll stayed back in the team after one of the world's worst goalkeeping blunders  If howard is put back in net maybe he will regain his confidence and get to the great form as he was last year and maybe become the best goalie in the world because he is very athletic, has excellent reflexes and top agility.
very dissapointing....Carroll is a disgrace...how could he miss that catch..
although it could have been worse had Stam been playing..we wouldnt have had the free-roaming we had in the side of the pitch in the second-half

Unlucky to lose didnt deserve that Milan could win the whole comp there a great side and thats without shevchenko.*
i think howard should start against portsmouth and we shold see how he does. if he doesnt get an oppurtunity now then he probably never will. we all kno whow well he can play. he only made a couple of minor mistakes which are nothin gin comparison to carrols. i think the main problem fergie has against him is how he made the mistake against porto last season. i think carols war a lot worse.
i realy cant see us winning at the san siro. i think it wil be 0-0 or maybe 1-0 to milan.
how can milan and inter play on the same day? is the united match going to be after all the matches or with the wednesday matches. but i dont think we can use the stadium the next day? whats going to happen.

what a shite and lacklustre perfomance by our mids, there were at times when we gave the ball really cheapy in the middle of the park and milan could of scored more.
i reckon Ronaldo for V.Nistlerooy was the wrong choice, fortune should have made way instead, he was really unsettled after his miss. Carrol should have punched the ball if he couldnt take it.....but he thought he could:rolleyes:

anybody got ne ideas of who united could buy as the new keeper? i was finkin either kameni (looks very good in spanish league), or frey from parma particularly wiv their financial problems
I've not a big fan of Frey, he flaps at crosses alot and parries when it would be more sensible to catch.
The number one target should be Timo Hildebrand, he is a very good keeper and does things the simple, I reckon he would have the same impact that Cech has had at Chelsea.

I read in the Papers that a £12 million bd for Paul Robinson in the summer may be on the cards. I wud personally do £6 million plus Carroll but Robinsons a class keeper an wud be great at united

the bloke milan left out Abbiati...United should have followed up the speculation back in Jan and maake an offer for him.
Rustu??
Buying Robinson for £12 million would be terrible business.
He's a great 'keeper, but we could get him from between £5-7 million. I can think of a lot better ways to spend £12 million.

this has been posted on manutd.com 2day Reds Sign Young German Stopper, Manchester United have completed the signing of 16-year-old goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler from FC Cologne.
this may be the long term solution 4 the goalkeeper spot, and if this is the case perhaps fergie may decide 2 sign an older goalkeeper 2 plug the gap 4 about 2 years
Stella Artois
25-02-2005, 21:37
I played against him back in the day!
Papa Lazarou
25-02-2005, 22:22
Its being hasty to say that Ron-Robert Zieler is our goalkeeping solution as he's only 16 and not likely to play for us for 3-4 years thats even if he's any good. Maybe he'll be our goalkeeper when Giuseppi Rossi and Pique are first team regulars and Rooney wud be at the top of his career
maybe..but he might not even get through at all....
is Kasper Schmeichel actually any good or does he need more time do you think ??
i havent really seen him much..

why?? Howard and Carroll makes blunders? do you think we should find a new GK in the next transfer window?
Am I the only person that thinks it was Paul Scholes' fault for that goal? He was the closest player to Seedorf. In fact I think he lost out on the bounce in the first place. He should be busting a gut to get there and closing him down. Instead, he gets time and space to fizz a shot at goal.

well, its been ripe recently and now it looks certain, Roy Carrol is goin(most likely) to leave OT at the summer, I know i havent his biggest fan (im not a fan of both keepers anyway) but doesn't everyone think that Peter Schmeichel did such a brill job at United that its almost impossible to be on par with the great dane...we've had 4 keepers at utd since Peter and 1/4 was actually consistent and we LET HIM GO (fab).
i think utd will bring in a new keeper but not an instant no.1.......
what does evryone think of smudger playing in a central midfield position alongside scholesy or keano??????

smith is a very good player, & i think he could do a very good job in the centre of midfield. he has the determination that is needed, despiter being a top class centre forward, he wont play much at cf with saha, van nistelrooy and rooney, perhaps a position in cmf would be better 4 him. neway id rather see smith play rather than liam miller in cmf

no. he loves it in london. i think to get him you would have to pay 8+ mill. Dont fancy robert green being in my net, lets in to many soft goals.
Jose Felipe Moriera plays for Benfica, I have seen him play a few times and I dont think he is the answer to our goalkeeper problem.
I think Fergie will buy a proven 'keeper probably old but has experience. Someone who can give United a few years before this new guy shows whether he's big enough to make the step up. Toldo probably, someone like him anyway. Whoever it is I expect them to be cheap, no more than £3Million.
RE: Monsieur Barthez. He was consistent alright. Consistently crap, that is. He made far more blunders than good saves. Michael Owen Carling Cup final for the second goal, poor positioning. Di Canio when we got knocked out of the FA Cup, trying to be clever and pretending it was offside. Gifting Thierry Henry against Arsenal when we were 2-1 up and lost 3-2. His crap positioning for Ronaldo's Hat trick at Old Trafford in thw CL semi final. He could have saved two of those. The list goes on...
His name is not Moriera, it´s Moreira and he plays for Benfica, he is still young and is the most talented portuguese goalkeeper right now.

Actually it was 1-1 at the time ;)

Didn't Stuttgart publicly declare their interest in Lehmann a few months ago? If thats true then I'd say a Hildebrand-Lehmann swap could be on the cards.
Sorrry, but I just can't see him coming here.
Yes they did, I think Mathias Sammer is the Stuttgart manager these days, and he was the Dortmund manager when Lehmann was still there, so their must be something Sammer likes about him.
Hildebrand recently signed a new deal until 2007 so Stuttgart will probably ask for a fair bit of money now. I hope you're right, but i'm not too hopeful, he is probably too good and/or well known a keeper for Wenger's liking  I'm just hoping the Austrian reserve keeper no-one's heard of turns out to be alright ;)

To NorthernLights: Nice nick, do you grow? now seriously, do you really expect ManU to score against Milan in the san siro? I don't, I think most teams can't do it, Barca couldn't, most Italian teams can't. And for Gattuso - well he's a great DMF, they call him "the little warrior", but from what I've heard he's totally commited to Milan and as soon as Maldini quits he's the next captain (a Keane kinda captain) so don't get your hopes up, I think.

He supports Juve, what does that have to do with his comment? Did he think he was an Arsenal or Chelsea fan like?
well in england I support Arsenal, and in Spain I support Baraca, and I rate those 3 accordingly if they ever have to play each other (Juve, Arsenal, Barca).

Vieira's been below standards for most of this season, he was untouchable in 01/02. Think we've seen the best of him and he wouldn't be a long term replacement anyway. I highly doubt Gattuso would want to leave Milan, he's fully committed to the team and Milan have no reason to sell.

Buffon has a solid back 4 in front of him. cassilas hasn;t. Pay has nothing to do with it.

Casillias is a home grown product and cost nothing.... no doubt he would have cost a huge fee if he started at a smaller club but he didnt.... thats like saying Didier Drogba cost 24 million... is he 3 times better than Michael Owen... is he fuck!
