Hi Deckz,
Amazing patch you have here!! Any chance of any upadate since Anelka is now with Chelsea.
By the way, how do we select the team strips. Sometimes there are a clash of colors. Eg. Cardiff vs Newcastle (both are dark colors), England vs Germany (both are white strips). I am not sure whether I have installed the Kitserver correctly. Will the Kitserver solve this issue?
great patch deckz! however, i cant seem to apply the edit file, the option files is fine for me, but the edit file, my pes2008 cant recognize it even after i drag the file, it says the loadable file cant be found and when i try to save, "insufficient storage" any idea why is that?
Hi mate...try these solutions previously posted by stuntmaster, but this is the first time i have seen the error message of "insufficent storage" so please come back if it doesn't work:
"basically you install pes as admin, then if ANOTHER user plays pes, not admin. then ownership of the game transfers over. then when the game is run as admin it won't load the option file as its inside another users directory and programs arn't allowed to look there. (obviously)
in bbbb's case it this seems it. the only solution is to play the game as that other user, or manually load both the option file and the edit file within the game.
hope this helps.
i belive theres a pc patch 1.20 that fixes this, but it wouldnt install for me saying error thats it.
basically that is the problem, for best results install pes under one user only and only use the game as that user. i cleaned the lot and made a seperate user account called pes, and only use it for playing pes and patching pes thats it.
again hope it helps."
and...
"you have to make sure BOTH the edit file and option files are in the my docs/konami/save folder then launch both load settings from system settings, AND load data from within edit.
all should be well. also make sure you get a fresh copy of the option files incase you've overwritten em."

I don't know if i'll be able to have an upadted option file anytime soon as I really don't have alot of time on my hands.
About Kitserver, yes, you can solve the kit selection problem, you just have to put the extraced folder (simply named "kitserver") into the the PES2008 Directory (Program Files/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008).
The next thing you would have to do is arrange the kits so that it corresponds to this patch, but I have never used the previous KitServers before as this is my first PES on PC. And again, because of time issues, I have yet to figure out how to do it properly.
This is as far as I got.
3.Now find your cv_0.img file in your PES2008 directory, once you have found and attempted to load it, it may ask if you would like to rebuild the file, click yes and save it with a different name (eg. cv_0a.img), or save it in another safe location
It then comes up " File has not been identified as AFS. Would you like to load it anyway?"
"Yes or NO"
No closes application
Yes results in "Failed reading AFS File Descriptors! Try rebuilding the AFS to fix it" "OK"
Select OK results in "Coherence error : Overlapped file(s) found in descriptors!
AFS file is corrupted!
Do you want to to load it, anyway?"
Yes or No
Yes results in " To fix this file :
1) Enable "Ignore descriptors length" option to load this file
2)UPDATE or rbuild
3)DISABLE "Igonre descriptors length" and load the AFS again
Refer to the documentation for further information
So what am I doing wrong?
The tutorial doesnt cover this at all :(

Hi mate, sorry my Pic-Tutorial here is unavailible at the moment, but you can still view it at:
http://gallery.filefront.com/Deckz/122767/
The images are listed in the opposite order so view the last image first and the first image last.
After installing the patch from the instructions given in the Pic_tutorial, there is a final step to be made:
Open the downloaded patch folder, and from 'Option Files' Folder, drag the files 'PES2008_EDIT01.bin' and 'PES2008_OPTION01.bin' into 'My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save', and you're done.
Good Luck, if there are any problems, please come back.

When will something like this be available for the ps3?
At the moment all the ps3 options files i can find are nowhere near as good as this.

Any suggestions DECKZ? :)

I don't own a PS3, so i don't really have any idea how PES2008 (or any other PS3 game) patches are made.
All I know is that patching on PS3 is "currently" very limited.

Ok, this ones for those having problems with Vista Ultimate x64.
After months of struggle trying to apply the mighty Deckz patch I came to a holt and could not take any more mental strain. I was spending hours and days trying to solve my problems patching and game crashing of PES2008 on mu Windows Vista Ultimate x64 machine. I came to ripping my hair out of my head with no light on the end of the tunnel. So I used the old mthod of switching back to PES2006. After playing on my friend PS3 I decided to give it another go, so I bought a new Harddrive and installed Windows XP Professional with a fresh version of PES2008 as I could resist the new gameplay engine.
I then installed the Deckz " best in the world patch " and Walaaaa, it worked like a sexy bitch. I started playing hours of fun and endless fun and more fun of a game with the cool looking patch. Only thing was I had to swap harddrives everytime to use Vista.
I then thought to my self "what could this silly bug be that keeps causing the problem of crashing and patching issues"? I tryed all sorts before but this time took it step at a time, and this is what I did.
1) Re-installed PES 2008 on Vist x64 HDrive
2) Then deleted the img folder after installing and tried running the game from DVD, obviously it wouldnt work as the files were missing from programfiles.
3) replaced the files from the DVD back onto the HDrive, img folder.
4) Ran the game but still crashed everyime I went to prem league or other leagues apart from international games, they seemed ok.
5) Still no joy even with fresh file in the img folder from the disk.
6) Strange...Now this copy is my second one of PES2008 just to make sure, i covered almost every angle, the volleys the long shots the step overs damn there was no winning goal....
7) UNTIL! I tried this.
8) The game being fully installed I went into program files /KONAMI folder and right clicked on the pes2008.exe file that launches the game.
9) I then chose run as administrator.
10) Strange...the game loaded up and when i went to the exhibition match the xbox pad had appeared just like the original install with all the emblems as fake ones that come with the game. I selected english league and it worked (no crashes). I then select Man United Vs Arsenal. No problem.
11) played a full game and no crashes.
If you have probs with Vista try what I have done.
Happy Bunny!
Great patch. Thank you very much. :)
Can anyone point me to a crowd patch that makes them sound louder, better?

Sob sob sob. Run what as administrator in vista 64bit? I did all the patching and some stuff worked (like the championship players +team names + some kits) although all the team badges for championship were still french. + majority of the premiership teams had chelseas kits. I`m confused, i think I`m patching ok but I just need the solution spelt out to me for this vista problem. It is very upsetting as I love the game and want Hull City to rise to glory through the master league!
p.s I`ve tried running the pro evolution 2008.exe with RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and it didnt work. Also I have updated to patch 1.2 is this part of the problem? I had to do this in order to get pro evolution to work with my 8800 GTX. on a side point any widescreen fixes for patch 1.2?
Anyways blah blah blah. I`d appreciate the help as this looks like the coolest patch out there right now.
Thanks
Mike

Is your Vista a 64-bit system?
About screen resolution, you have to install KitServer to unlock the options that were previously disabled by Konami.
To download the early version of KitServer without other add-ons, visit here:

OK I see your going through what i've been through and i know how it feels.
Try this.
0) Back up your game saves.
1) Uninstall the game using the disk not the control panel. Insert the PES8 disk let it autorun then choose uninstall from the boot up menu.
2) After uninstall is complete - Go to the KONAMI folder under program files and delete it. In some cases the KONAMI folder may have been removed during the uninstall but double check anyway.
3) Click start button on task bar and go to run, then type regedit and click ok.
4) when regedit opens, Click on edit and then go to Find. A pop will apear type pro evolution soccer 2008 and click on - Find Next.
5) When the search has finnished (may take a while...) regedit will highlight your findings on the right side of the screen. Delete anything that is associated with Pro EVolution Soccer 2008.
WARNING! "make sure you DO NOT delete any files apart from those to do with PES2008"
6) Pressing the F3 button will take you to the next search to find anthing to do with PES2008, as the files are scattered around. Dont worry not much to delete.
7) Once your search is over regedit will alert you that there are no more files found for your search.
8) Now put your disk into the drive if not already in. Install the game but install it as administrator. You can only do this by browsing the disk from and not the autorun feature, as the autorun feature doesnt let you right click on the menu when it appears.
9) Go to the setup file when browsing disk and right click and choose "run as administrator"
10) Install the game and the official patch update. Again run that as administrator too.
11) Then install Deckz patch using AFS explorer, When you run AFS again run as administrator.
12) Apply the patch (refer to deckz patching instructions).
13) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
14) Right click on the PES2008 file and go to properties at bottom.
15) click on the compatibilty tab and tick the "run this program in compatibilty mode for" and select "Windows XP (service pack 2)".
16) on the same pop up go down to "Privilege Level" and tick "Run as Administrator".
17) Now cross your fingers and wish for the best try running the game....
The above is what I did and it worked a wonder. :) I hope this works for you too.
OK I see your going through what i've been through and i know how it feels.

Make sure you have both the edit file (PES2008_EDIT01.bin) and option file (PES2008_OPTION01.bin) are in the "My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save" folder then launch both load settings from system settings, AND load data from within edit.
Then turn auto-save on, and do a final save just to make sure.
Also, use fresh EDIT and OPTION files just incase the previous ones were accidently overwritten.

wowowowowow. I`m so so close. Thanks to both Deckz and Sajkan 2007. The only things that seem to be messed up now are:
The stadium names,
Master League mode has the wrong names for each league (i.e Barclays Premiership is actually the dutch league and Championship is the top division and called Serie A etc etc)
Where is this information kept (which patch cv_0 or cv_1 or rv_e)? Almost like it has patched slightly wrong.
Thanks for your outstanding help thus far.

lol, thank sajikan2007 for the Vista help, I had no idea about the 64-bit system.
About the league names for Master League, you would have to choose "Progress with Changes" when you have selected a team and league at the start of ML.
I have constructed the format so that League A is Premier League, League B is la Liga, Leacue C is Seria A, and League D is a mixed European League called Uefa Best of the Europe.
If you would like to change them around, or have Dutch League instead, then you would have to swap the League logos around in GameGraphicStudio. The League names can be changed in the in-game editor, while some of the cup names are stored in unnamed_01.bin of cv_0.img (or cv_1.img - I forgot...havent used GGS/afs for a long while).
As for the stadium names, I am pretty confused why those are messed up, but they can easily be changed in the in-game editor aswell.
Hope this helps, and if there are any more problems, please come back.

That'll be great kamal007...here are the transfer lists for the...
Prem League:

and
Championship:

But just doing the major transfers would be fine as there were so many this month...
So maybe doing these for the time being is fine:
NICOLAS ANELKA (Bolton to Chelsea)
MATT TAYLOR (Portsmouth to Bolton)
MANUEL FERNANDES (Valencia to Everton)
ALAN HUTTON (Rangers to Tottenham)
JERMAIN DEFOE (Tottenham to Portsmouth)
JONATHAN WOODGATE (Middlesbrough to Tottenham)
MARLON KING (Watford to Wigan)
LASSANA DIARRA (Arsenal to Portsmouth)
MARTIN SKRTEL (Zenit St Petersburg to Liverpool)
AFONSO ALVES (Heerenveen to Middlesbrough)

You mean the buttons displayed on the user interface?
If it is, then yeh, I could change it, but I don't know which .bin file it's stored in.
If you wanted to change all the buttons back into XBOX360 version, then they provided in the "misc" folder.

can someone upload a tutorial on how to make addboards and assign them to the game? please.
The adboards are stored in 38.bin of cv_01.img.
Use this to have a rough guide which adboards you should overwrite:
http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index.php?file_id=15609
Since some advertisment slots shown in 38.bin are not actually adboards that go around the pitch, you should use the file from that link as a guide.
The resolution for the adboards is 256x64 pixels.
Saving it using the default settings for a png on Photoshop is fine.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot.

It's no where near complete though, and i don't have enough time to make a complete version (includes creating players and converting stats from Football Manager 2008 using "Verter"). So unless someone is willing to make a full version soon, you'll have to wait a few months. Very sorry.

Deckz,
First off, wicked patch.
Sorry to sound like a Roger Hunt, but I'm having the whole 'Chelsea White/Red Strip' situation. Plus, none of the crests have updated (teams, leagues, or competitions), and there's no championship teams.
Any suggestions?

From what you have typed, it seems as though you have either not patched cv_01.img properly, or you have forgotten to move both the edit file (PES2008_EDIT01.bin) and option file (PES2008_OPTION01.bin) to the "My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save" folder.
And what Operating System are you using, also state whether you are using 32 or 64-bit systems. Thanks.

ALRIGHT DECKZ MATE ANY CHANCE YOU HAVE HAD TIME TO DO JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW UPDATE COMPLETE,AND CLASSIC KITS CHEERS MATE
Sorry, I don't have time...I'm in final year of uni, and the work is stacking.
There is an uncomplete version on the first page right underneath the 3 main download links though. It only features the big-name transfers and unless someone can help me with the option file, this is the best I can offer.
Deckz, what about a boots pack? I like your collection of balls!
To be honest, I have never even installed a boots pack before since I pay very little attention to their feet.
Sorry...
...and thanks for choosing my ball patch, much appreciated. ;)

And what Operating System are you using, also state whether you are using 32 or 64-bit systems. Thanks.
I'm using Vista 64.
I've tried a couple of times with the patch now, and each time I get the same results.
Also, I'm definitely moving both files to my save folder.

Try these solutions:
Hi guys
Thanks for all of the messages on here, my first reply because i have got it working and i was having the same problem as a lot of you on here.
I have Windows Vista 64 bit and everything downloaded fine but ingame all the kits were Chelsea White or Chelsea Red.
I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out what it is and i installed the patch from the Konami web site and it worked, i couldnt believe it.
You have to run the Patch as Administrator or it wont let u run it for some strange reason but its great.

Yo Deckz,
Cheers for the info, managed to get it sorted in a different way, which I believe will work for anyone else having Vista 64 issues.
Basically, when you rebuild and patch the files they go into a part of the img folder called 'compatibility files', for which there's a button on the header of the folder to access this area. So, these files get stored in this compatibility file area and dont actually effect the game.
All you have to do is cut them and paste them in the normal area, overwrite all the files that are already there, then follow your original instructions.
Hmm, have I made that sound clear enough? If not let me know and I'll do some pics or summat. It really could be the difference between playing a Master League and committing suicide, for us Vista 64-ers.

I'll post this on front page aswell.
Thanks again!
 at the suicide comment

Not to worry, I had an issue with the patch but I have since resolved it, now it works like a charm.
Thank you very much, you and the whoever contributed to this patch deserve a f***n medal.

Is there a site I can go to to find a comprehensive list of all the january transfers? If there is, and I can find time, I'll have a bash at an updated option file
Is there a site I can go to to find a comprehensive list of all the january transfers? If there is, and I can find time, I'll have a bash at an updated option file
Heres the list of Jan transfers of both leagues:
Prem League:
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/0,20367,11660,00.html
and
Championship:
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/0,20367,11687,00.html
There has been ALOT of transfers in the Prem and Champ this January, so it would take a realllly long time if you decide to have a go.
Some players are not even in the game itself, so we would have to create them from scratch while converting stats from Football Manager 2008 using an application called verter. And also keep in mind that the appearences has to be done aswell (doesn't have to completely resemble player).

Jesus, installing a patch really has become very difficult. It was so much easier back in the day, a simple drag and drop, i'm afraid that importing such a patch like this might be beyond my capabilities. I've had an attempt albeit a rather feeble one and unsurprisingly hit a brick wall when trying to patch the file. Can someone help please ? These are the steps i took
1) Downloaded Winrar
2) Downloaded AFS Explorer
3) Downloaded the file
4) Extracted the AFS Explorer file using Winrar
5) When trying to import AFS file, i couldn't locate the img thats mentioned in the pic tutorial.
Now i know ive gone wrong somewhere, bear in mind lads, your speaking to a real novice with windows vista. If i ever get mine working i think im going to do a step by step guide for dummies, surely im not the only one who's unable to enjoy the great work thats gone into this patch haha. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Go to control panel and the select and open the system icon. Look next to system type under where it says sytem, it will say something like - System Type: (the version) and operating system.
With Vista you need to run software as adminstrator. Any problems just nip back over and giv us a shout. It will definitly work if you get it done right.

I think some of the files may been corrupted when you were patching. Try reinstalling the the game with fresh .img files and re-download the patch.
If the problem persists, please come back.
is there any new updates mr. deckz ?

No Deckz I haven't installed the patch yet mate, not through want of trying, it just seems a bit fiddly and i don't know what i'm doing. Could someone maybe send me their MSN address, it might be easier for me if ive got direct contact with someone who knows what to do step by step.
I checked that for you sajkan and it seems i am operating on a 32-bit system , and i am administrator.
Sorry for the trouble lads.

Also, use fresh EDIT and OPTION files just incase the previous ones were accidently overwritten.
if that doesn't work, try this:Problem with PES 2008 PC NOT LOADING OPTION FILES.
my problem came back. its tempermental.
basically you install pes as admin, then if ANOTHER user plays pes, not admin. then ownership of the game transfers over. then when the game is run as admin it won't load the option file as its inside another users directory and programs arn't allowed to look there. (obviously)
in bbbb's case it this seems it. the only solution is to play the game as that other user, or manually load both the option file and the edit file within the game.
hope this helps.
i belive theres a pc patch 1.20 that fixes this, but it wouldnt install for me saying error thats it.
basically that is the problem, for best results install pes under one user only and only use the game as that user. i cleaned the lot and made a seperate user account called pes, and only use it for playing pes and patching pes thats it.
again hope it helps.
thx just done that and its working great thanks for patch :)
hi, i've got that same problem with french names... i'm running vista 32-bit... first i had problem with not loading option file (the game asked for difficulty level every time i start it)... after installing 1.20 patch, it didn't happen anymore... however, it still displayed french names in championship league, even after loadin system data and edit...
about this solution from stuntmaster, does it affect the system with only one user (i know it sounds stupid), since this user is administrator?
p.s. i noticed that if i load system+edit while in pes (and still doesn't change the names), after i exit it, the game overwrites "PES2008_OPTION01.bin" file ... dunno if it has anything with the whole situation...
and the patch really looks great...

I think you may have solved the auto-load problem, but the EDIT and OPTION files must have been overwritten.
If you still have the original zipped files from the download, use those. But if not, download fresh ones.
Please come back if the problem persists.
Thanks.
hey man thanks alot for the patch but for some reason my english commentary is unselectable i have all other languages but the english is greyed out, any suggestions?

one problem i had was that there are two save files, one in the directory into the C drive (if that is your main) and the other save file is in my documents,
just a suggestion :)
is there a way i can play championship teams on master league, and put them as division two? :)
hey man thanks alot for the patch but for some reason my english commentary is unselectable i have all other languages but the english is greyed out, any suggestions?
I think you have either:
- not installed the english commentry
- or the files were corrupted in the patching proccess, if this is the case, please re-download the patch and use fresh .img files that can be found within your DVD or ISO
is there a way i can play championship teams on master league, and put them as division two? :)
When you select your team at the beggining of the Master League, you would be prompted if you would want to progress with the teams selected randomly for all four leagues, or if you would like to re-arrange the teams yourself.
Select the option "Progress with Changes" (or soemthing like that), and select the Championship teams for Division 2, and Prem League teams for Division 1 of League A. For League B select Spanish teams (la Liga), for League C select Italian teams (Serie A), and for League D, select a mixture of European Teams (I named UEFA Rest of Europe).
You can mix and match the Championship and Prem teams in Div 1 and Div 2 to your liking. But you would have to start in Div 2 yourself.
But if you have already started a Master League, nothing can be done and you would have to start again.
Hope this helps you.
Hey... It finally worked... It worked with the old option files... nothing else changed... and it didn't require to load the files from the game, all automaticaly...
so, just startion master wish championship... :)
thanks for all the help to deckz and pizar...

Glad you managed to sort the commentry problem out.
I do have a ball pack released (just click the link in my sig). But the files are seperate so people can shoose what balls they choose to install, and there really is no need for a .bin import since there are only a few files.
As for the faces, I don't use any as I feel the default ones are ok.

Have you made sure you have re-named the patched .img files back to their original file-names while at the same time, deleting or moving the .img files you started patching with?

There are some great Bundesliga patches out there...even though there are way more than enough choices around, there are literelly over 10 different patches with almost the exact same contents made by different authors.
You can find a few of them on this site.
If you meant smaller patches, such as balls, boots, adboards, scoreboards and even no sandbags on nets, then there are many on this site aswell.
Another site i recommend is http://www.gamingaccess.com

Oh...reapply the original EDIT file, I'll try to make a new January Transfer file asap, may be a long time though.

Previously when i played after the patch , during matches there were commentary.
However, currently, there seem to be no more commentary.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

You mean this problem occured only after you installed this patch?
If this is the case, some of the files have been corrupted during the patching proccess.
You should re-patch the game using fresh .img files which can be found on your DVD/ISO.
I also recommend you to re-download the patch just incase something happened during download.

Hi Deckz
Thanks for creating this Championship patch. I have one problem though, Im playing a master league with Southampton, and all my supporters are wearing green as well as the fan snapshots midgame, i know its only a small thing,(and hardly worth worrying about) but just wondered if anyone had come accross this before, if not then no worries, (i'll survive) i think it might be linked to the fact that Saints were originally saint-etienne?
is this for xbox 360? or can it be for xBox 360?
thanks

hi dec i been playing quite a bit on this update and have to say well done, plus i have a few requests
1) Fix the controller button symbols you have the y symbol from the xbox control pad while the main pad is the ps pad. so th esymbols need changing.
2) can you have a new pack which includes your ball patch and other various goodies have it as a seperate download for users who want to patch there own ball and stadium crowd packs etc.
3)i can see the sky sports thing flash past my screen but could you change the timer and team bits to resemble the sky sports layout or even the bbc's own layout.
Just a few suggestions mate much love from london england.

Hi mate, firstly thanks for choosing this patch and noting some of the flaws within this patch, but I wouldnt be able to create/add anything extra for the patch right now (unless it's a minor alteration) as I am in my final year of Uni. You would probaly have to wait til the summer for any significant changes.
And I'll explain the situation with each point.
1) If you are refering to the buttons on the interface, then I can't really do much as I don't know which .bin file the data is stored in.
But the more important ones have been replaced (replay interface and button configuration)
2) Yes, I would probaly compile all of my patches together on a seperate download link after my final semester this year.
But I don't use most of the patches out there, such as boots, faces, crowd, chants, turfs, and stadiums. So I would only compile what I have got patched on my version since this was originally uploaded so I can download my own stuff straight away if my PES files corrupts.
3) I created the SkySports replay logo way before a known technique was found to alter the scoreboards at the time I uploaded this.
I was in the middle of making a BBC Scoreboard which works perfectly, but a bug ocours once a team's score reaches double figures and I have no clue how to correct it. But again, I'll give it another go once I uni is over for me.
The only thing I can upload for you guys right now is my scoreboard, but like I explained earlier that a bug occours when a team scores 10+ goals where that team's score figures becomes out position.
But I may still upload it since I guess the scorelines stays single figures more often than not.
thansk alot deck for the quick response, and yea the bbc score boards seem to be a brill idea, wish u all the best in your final year in uni hopefully you get the needed grades.
eaggerly awaiting the score boards,
cheers mate.

The second Option File wasn't done by me, it was created by another member since I am too busy to create one.
Plus, I haven't tested the file out myself yet.
Hi all, since I don't have time to make an update of this file, I'll post some quick instructions if you would like to take on the updates yourself.
Firstly, here are the January 2008 Transfers:
Prem League:
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/0,20367,11660,00.html
and
Championship:
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfers/0,20367,11687,00.html
To transfer a player from one team to the other, you'd simply go to EDIT mode and select EDIT Teams, then select Register Player. Select the player you want to transfer from the team he is currently in. Once selected, choose the team you want to transfer him to. If the team he is tranfered to does not exist in the game, simply press square (if you are using PS2 Controller plug-in, or "Y" if you are using a xbox controller) to remove the player from the team.
If you want to find the deleted player in a later time, then you can find him in: OTHERS > UnBelonging
If the players you want does not exist in the game, then you would have to create them yourself, you would have to use the original PES players:
eg. Player K21, Player A11, etc - There should be quite a few left, you can look for them in EDIT Mode, you have to go to Edit Player (NOT "Create Player"). You now press :Square: (If you are using a PS2 Controller plug-in) to activate the Search Option. On the Category scroll down menu, select Others. For the Player Name, you type "Player", then hit the Seach button, the remaining default PES players would be shown. Select any random player you want to edit.
The stats can be made up entirely from your own knowledge, or preferably you can convert the stats from the game; Football Manager 08 (or 07) - you would need a tool called Verter which could be found here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/70212840/Verter.zip.html
...this only convert stats for outfield players, for converting Goal-Keepers, use Ortegaz - which can be found here:
http://fmtopes.free.fr/
Alternatively, you can request wan109 or Lucifer to convert the stats for you on this thread:
http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=54693
...but make sure that the player you're enquiring about has not been requested yet (use the search option), and be sure to rep the person who converted the stats for you afterwards. ;)
I'm afraid that the appeearance of the players has to be built from your own memory.
You can try looking for the players appearance on this thread:
http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=55153
...but their is a fair chance your desired player may not be on the list.
There are other sites that has players' appearance lists, but I don't remember any other links, I'll let you know if I find any.
Hope this bit info helps you.
And if anyone is prepared to try this, please share with us.
Good Luck.

cv_0.img is a file already on your harddrive when you first installed the game.
cv_0.avp is a patch file you have to load to patch the cv_0.img.
Plus, judging from your post, it seems as though you have yet to see the Picture-Tutorial on how to install this patch.
You can find it on the very first post of this thread, just scroll down abit.

Any ideas on how I can get it back?

Sorry forgot to actually tell you where the file is actually stored in my previous post.
You can find cv_0.img along with the other .img files in the Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 directory, which can be found here:
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img
The path may be different on Vista (not certain).
Also, remember to backup your .img files.
However, even if you do mess up the files, you can always extract them from your original game DVD or ISO file.

Have you have any other patches installed?...since these changes are stored inside one of the image slots of the scoreboard .bin files and I did not include any scoreboard alterations.
Another possibility is that some files may have been corrupted during the patching proccess and if this is the case, I'd recommend you to re-download the patch files and use fresh .img files which can be found in your game DVD or ISO file.
If the problem persists, please come back.

Mate there is no Cv_0.img files located anywhere on my PC that i can see. I have cv_0.afp files but they are from the patch download, I've got the game installed so where would the cv_0.img files be ?. Other people have it installed on Vista so they have to be there somewhere.

I did not say that cv_0.img is located in the My Documents folder, it should be stored in your Applications (Program Files) directory.
Like I said in my previous post that it was stored in:
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img
...not My Documents
...and I also said the directory may be abit different if you are running the Vista OS.
If that is the case, you could always use the Search tool to scan your hard drive. But first, enable your explorer to reveal known file extensions, then search for cv_0.img and the file should be located.
This should help, but if you still can't find it, please come back.
EDIT: Just found out that in Vista, the cv_0.img and other .img files are located in the exact same directory, so copy and paste the directory I have listed above onto your explorer and you should be able to find it.
Let me know how it goes.

I am not certain, but you may have to install Microsoft .NET Framework.
If that doesn't work, try asking in the PC Troubleshooting thread which could be found here:

Thanks alot mate. Once i had a fiddle about with the location of file cv_0.img i think i got it sorted. I patched both cv_0.img and rv_e.img but after rebuilding cv_1.img i couldn't manage to put it into the PES2008 folder itself.
Anyways, i put the game on and miraculously the patch had worked, i have only played one game so far so maybe cracks will start to appear because of this fault i don't know, but so far it looks brilliant. Magnificent patch, top notch. Love the Sky Sports banner and attention to detail on the kits are beautiful.
Thanks again

I mean that when i rebuilt Cv_1.img like all the other files, it didn't give me the option to rename it as cv_1_PATCHED.img like the other two files did.
I dont think it was a fault in what i did as i followed the pic tutorial precisely and it worked fine for the other two, it just seemed to miss a step for some reason with cv_1.img. I think i patched over the rebuilt cv_1.img so the file does have the patch, but its location on my PC is somewhat unclear.
In the PES2008 Folder, were i moved the patched files cv_0.img and rv_e.img, the cv_1.img is just the default file, it shows it was last modified sometime last year.
So like i said, maybe cracks will start to show in the patch at some point, but thus far it all looks good. The only thing i noticed is that when a PK is given in a match, the camera angle shows the opposing keeper at the other end of the pitch, who has no penalty to save (haha) maybe this was just an isolated incident i don't know, but even if its not, its a small price to pay for such an excellent patch.

Since the you can see the kits patched, then cv_1.img is correctly patched, and should be in the default PES2008 installation directory.
About te second file rebuilding proccess, it is not needed for cv_1.img for this patch due to the reason that there is enough reserved space for the patch files.
Since everything soiunds like its patched perfectly, there shouldn't be any cracks showing up.
And the PK camera angle is probaly another glitch, would like to see it myself.
Anyways, glad everythings working, and if there are any more bugs, please report here...and thanks for choosing this patch. ;)

Another glitch is that, the kits are clashing alot, for instance, when i was Liverpool going away to Middlesbrough, Boro were in there away kit and Liverpool were in there away kit. Which were both white. Just little things like that, and when Arsenal played Liverpool, both teams were in the home kit.

Yeh, thats one of the game's glitches. You can use kitserver to choose kits before Master League games, but there are frequent crashes and other various bugs with that application so it's up to you if you want to try it out.
If you wanna try it out:
http://www.gamingaccess.com
They have a large white logo saying KitServer on the site that takes you straight to the download links.
I took 3 or so attempts to finally install this patch. I did a clean PES2008 install and then tried to apply this patch. The reason was a weird one.
I'm using Vista. Whenever I was creating the 'rebuilt' or 'patched' files, I was saving them in the PES2008 folder within KONAMI. However, when I explored that folder they were never there. I was completely baffled as I knew I was definitely saving them in that folder. What left me completely bemused was that when I went into that folder via AFS the files showed up. Completely confused! Anyway, I created a new folder on my hard drive and saved the 'rebuilt' and 'patched' files in there. I then just cut and paste them over from there to the main folder and let it overwrite the originals which seemed to work a treat. Still not sure on what was happening?!?!
By the way, I do have the one glitch that has come up. None of the Championship players' names are there. They are all still named as the French players. I haven't really explored it yet but can I change these names in game or do I have to go via an OF editor?
Cheers again for the marvellous work Deckz!

Yeh, I heard from other members trying to install this that there are many obstacles for patching.
As for the French player names, you have either yet to copy the PES2008_EDIT01.bin file to your PES save directory, or it can be another one of Vista's problems.
If thats the case, try some of the solutions from these quotes:
Yo Deckz,
Cheers for the info, managed to get it sorted in a different way, which I believe will work for anyone else having Vista 64 issues.

Have the missing Championship teams been added?
Ipswich Town
QPR
Norwich
Preston
If not, are there plans to add them? It would be awesome to see them added, even if they have to be added to as separate teams (assuming there is a 20 team limit per league)
Sorry I don't have these teams, but you can try Rob's version which can be found here (you'll have to sign up):

I think he has included the teams you have mentioned, plus other updates aswell. I was helping out with his file until before the January transfers, and I remember he made a start on those at that time so he should have those done by now aswell.
But I think this is his final update since he said to me he's sick of PES, and has even unistalled the game.
If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. ;)

Awesome, thanks for the link. Is his patch built off yours? Or did he start from scratch? Shame to hear he's discontinued it.
BTW, thanks a lot for your patch. If this had been the way PES2008 was released, it would be far superior to any other soccer game ever released :)

We kinda worked off each other and everyone else, but Rob has organised quite alot of people doing different stuff, some doing players, some do stats, some doing kits, while i was doing most of the graphical stuff involving emblems for some teams and all for the league/replay emblems.
The only difference at the time of our releases was that almost everything in his version was Championship related (balls, adboards, opening menus, etc) while i just kept the defaults letting the downloaders choose their own mini-patches.
But I don't think there would be another update from either of us...he's bored of PES (he only plays FM now), and I'm too busy to game.

Thanks for choosing this patch. ;)

What happens when you try to start the game?
My first thought is that some of the files may have been corrupted in the downloading/patching proccess.
So to fix this, you would have to re-download the patch files and use fresh .img files from your DVD/ISO file.
If the problem persists, please come back.
