View Full Version : PES2008 Ultimate Championship Patch OF! with Easy Installation!
Great job on the patch! The kits look great! Everything works fine except I have the US version and can't load your option file. All of the championship teams still have French names. Is there a way to edit the names of the Championship teams or just patch the EPL kits?
Sorry, I can't quite remember since my last bit of patcihng was done during the Christmas break.
I think the data are stored in the 2nd bin file of cv_0.img or cv_1.img. I think you would need hex-editing software though.
i have a problem when i install the patch the teams only have 2 colors to choose white or orange how do i fix this?

Since my patch does not use KitServer, there are only 2 kits for every team.
Also, may I ask which team you are refering to?

Nope, sorry.

You mean White and Red/Pink Chelsea kits.
When this heppens, you have either:
1. Failed to patch cv_0.img properly
or
2. Haven't place the PES2008_EDIT01.bin I have provided into My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save.
Make sure you refer to the picture tutorial, it is much easier to follow than the text guide.
Try to re-do the whole proccess with re-downloaded patch files and fresh .img files just incase something went wrong during the downloading and/or patchinh processes.
ok ty ill try it tomorrow

Good to hear it works.
I will not be making any more updates for this patch simply because I have lost interest in it. I'm just here to provide support for the members having trouble installing this.
I might make new one when PES2009 is released.

thanks alot decks for your update, i have had it installed for quite some time, brilliant sheer excellence, Bunford is carrying on your work, will you have any input into his update and also would you be able to persuade him to upload the img files as a torrent i can give ya both demonoid accounts to make it easy to download without having to go through the updating the single files through the programmes mentioned before?

No, I won't be giving any input to Bunford's patch, I only gave Bunford a few tips at the start and would offer more if he asks.
I kinda lost interest in patching PES2008...might be back for PES2009 though.
Demonroid's back?...cool, but you would have to ask Bunford to upload the .img on torrent since I'm not sure if I'll be downloading his patch, haven't played PES2008 for about 2 months now.
If he can't upload it for you, I'll try to find time to do it.
Hi Deckz
Great patch! Would like to know if youl'll be making a kit update to the 08/09 season?
Or if you know where to get one...?
Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I won't be doing 08/09 updates, but please refer to the previous 3 or 4 posts for details on where/when to get one.

I think you can make it yourself, but it is really complicating and invlolves alot hex-editing. And I think you would also have to remove some of the commentry names that is already in the game.
I'm also pretty sure there has not been a commentry patch released.
You can try your luck here:

And thanks for choosing this patch.

it looks amazing but its on pc :crymore:
Hi,
I am having a problem patching pes2008 using the guide which I found on the first page of this thread. Heres the guide:
1.Open afs explorer, and click on
File>Import AFS Files
2.When the Open Dialog Box appears, click on 'All Files (*.*)' on the 'Files of type:' drop down menu.
3.Now find your cv_0.img file in your PES2008 directory, once you have found and attempted to load it, it may ask if you would like to rebuild the file, click yes and save it with a different name (eg. cv_0a.img), or save it in another safe location.
4.Once it has loaded, click on Advanced>Import Patch. Now locate the Patch Folder you have just downloaded and go into the 'img Files' folder and load cv_0.afp.
5.AFS would then let you select which files you want to select to patch, click 'select all' a few times as it doesnt seem to check all boxes if you just presss it once. Click 'patch' when you are sure all files are checked.
6.AFS would then begin the unpackaging, and if you are prompted to reserve space for some files, click yes and just like the process in 'step 3', save the file with a different name or in a different location.
7.When the patching is completed, close the program and backup your original cv_0.img in a safe location and place your new edited patched .img file into the original PES2008 directory with it's orginal cv_0.img file name (You may delete the backup once you have tested the new cv_0.img file).
8.Repeat 'Steps 2' to '6' again with 'cv_1.img' and 'rv_e.img'. Once those .img files are complete, open the downloaded patch folder, and from 'Option Files' Folder, drag the files 'PES2008_EDIT01.bin' and 'PES2008_OPTION01.bin' into 'My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save', and you're done.

that was the guide i followed for the three files: cv_0.img, cv_1 and rv_e.img
The problem I am having is that the steps in the above guide goes grand for cv_0.img and rv_e.img. But when I try to do the same with cv_1.img, I get to step 5, the patching is completed, but step 6 doesn't occur automatically, whereas when I'm going through the steps with cv_0.img and rv_e.img, it does.
So, as a result, I have found that when I replace the three files (cv_0.img, cv_1.img and rv_e.img) into the pes directory, the result is that the names of the english teams (e.g. aston villa) is still 'west midlands village'. And also, the coca-cola championship teams are not right. They have all french team names, but the players on the squad are correct.
So,... does anyone know whats going on here? how can i sort out the problem im having with the cv_0.img file?
Thanks for your time (I know it was a long read)
Dan.

Dan.
Sorry it took a week to reply, i was away.
I haven't done this for a while, so i hope i provide you with the correct info.
I think you have done everything correctly, the only thing you may have forgotten to do was to replace the original PES2008_EDIT01.bin in "My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save" with the one I have provided within the downloaded file.
Though this would mean your previous edit data would have to be deleted.
And about the patching of cv_1.img, it should fine as it only requires one file rebuild.
Sorry that the installation instructions are abit unclear, but I have also provided a picture-tutorial just underneath the original instructions that should be much easier to follow.
Anyways, hope this helps and if you run into any problems, please come back to this thread.
And thanks for choosing this patch, much apprecciated. =)
Thanks for helping me with my query Deckz.
This is what I done... I installed pes 2008. After installation it plays grand. I got afs explorer and downloaded the ultimate pes patch. I went through the instructions and done everything that it says. cv_1 only rebuilt once, which, according to you, (and the tutorial) is normal. So thats grand. I created a master league and saved it in pes cause I didnt have a KONAMI folder in My Documents in order to overwrite the EDIT.bin and OPTION.bin files in there, but I did replace them.
After everything is done, I go to play pes 2008. I found that all the emblems of the teams/leagues/etc are perfect. However, Manchester united is still called Man Red aswell as the other teams in the game (ie. Bolton is called Middlebrook.) Aswell as this, the teams in the Coca Cola Championship are all french teams (i.e auxerre, lens, etc.) and also the players are simply called 'player1', player2', player3', etc.
I have tried doing the whole afs processes numerous time, but I seem to get the same result everytime.
Any ideas?
Thanks Deckz.

You have patched the game perfectly, you do not have to do any of the AFS Explorer procedures again.
The problem of the unchanged team/player names orignates from the PES2008_EDIT01.bin and PES2008_OPTION01.bin files.
But you said that there is no KONAMI folder in your My Documents, which I really have no idea what causes this. If you are using Vista ,the only thing i can think of is that the folder is located in a slightly different place to the XP one.
In XP, it is:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save
In Vista:
C:\Users\USER NAME\Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save
Also, if you are using Vista, may I ask which version you are using (32-bit or the 64-bit version OS)?
And if you are albe to locate the folder using the above directories, please let me know if it works or not.
If you could still not locate it, I can also suggest the "Search" tool that comes with Windows. Search for a file that is supposed to be located inside a KONAMI folder such as the ones provided with my patch and master league files (PES2008_ML01.bin - you may cut the extensions out).
If you fail to locate these .bin files, then i would also suggest that you create these directories yourself and move the provided files into the appropriate folders.
If even that method fails, then please come back. Even if it works, please let me know.
Sorry for another late reply and thanks for your patience.
