Update 3 - Wednesday 12th March 2008

Hi all, since I don't have time to make an update of this file, I'll post some quick instructions if you would like to take on the updates yourself.

Firstly, here are the January 2008 Transfers:

Prem League:

To transfer a player from one team to the other, you'd simply go to EDIT mode and select EDIT Teams, then select Register Player. Select the player you want to transfer from the team he is currently in. Once selected, choose the team you want to transfer him to. If the team he is tranfered to does not exist in the game, simply press square (if you are using PS2 Controller plug-in, or "Y" if you are using a xbox controller) to remove the player from the team.
If you want to find the deleted player in a later time, then you can find him in: OTHERS > UnBelonging

If the players you want does not exist in the game, then you would have to create them yourself, you would have to use the original PES players:
eg. Player K21, Player A11, etc - There should be quite a few left, you can look for them in EDIT Mode, you have to go to Edit Player (NOT "Create Player"). You now press :Square: (If you are using a PS2 Controller plug-in) to activate the Search Option. On the Category scroll down menu, select Others. For the Player Name, you type "Player", then hit the Seach button, the remaining default PES players would be shown. Select any random player you want to edit.

The stats can be made up entirely from your own knowledge, or preferably you can convert the stats from the game; Football Manager 08 (or 07) - you would need a tool called Verter which could be found here:

...but make sure that the player you're enquiring about has not been requested yet (use the search option), and be sure to rep the person who converted the stats for you afterwards. ;)

I'm afraid that the appeearance of the players has to be built from your own memory.

...but their is a fair chance your desired player may not be on the list.
There are other sites that has players' appearance lists, but I don't remember any other links, I'll let you know if I find any.

Update 2 - Saturday 29th December 2007

New Middlesbrough (small) emblem done.

Since it is a very minor update, I would not be zipping and uploading a whole 30MB+ file just for one small badge.

I would instead give a short instruction on how to install this emblem:

Firstly, you would need Mozilla Firefox to view this type of .png file:

Save the image on your harddrive, then open Game Graphic Studio (http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index.php?file_id=15088) and open cv_0.img

After opening cv_0.img (click on no when asked if you want "artificial folders"), then locate the very last file at the bottom (flags_64x64_8093.bin) and click on it, click on OK when prompted, you may need to have numerous attempts to open this file properly.

Once opened, find the (old) Middlesbrough badge and in the middle of the screen (with the Game Graphic Studio logo), right click and click open, then locate the saved middlesbrough emblem. Once the emblem is loaded on GGS, drag and drop it onto the old middlesbrough emblem.

Close GGS and everything should work fine.

I highly recommend those that have downloaded the previous version to update due to the minor errors that was previously made, aswell as improvements in certain departments.

* It is perfectly safe to patch over the previous version.

This patch is compiled to make the most out of the Premierhip-Championship in the Master League. The format of the ML which i have taken on is that League A would become England League/Championship, League B would be la liga, Leacue C - Serie A, League D - A mixed European Leage named UEFA Res of Europe (see screenshots).
To rearrange the teams so that they fit to their corresponding leagues, just press rearrange when prompted after you have chosen which league you want to participate in.
you can swap the Leagues B, C, or D around with other possiblities, but you would have to patch it yourself.

This patch is extracted to a singular easy to install file for each of the .img files. Installation Support are further down in this post.

One of the reasons for uploading this patch is so that i have a source to download all my preferred patches on one file incase my PES2008 corupts.
As well as mixing my own files and edits into this, alot of the stuff is made by other patchers...i have just mixed, matched and compiled, including some of my own work.
Since it's just a massive mixture of lots of patches, i'm not calling it 'my' patch, just a compilation i want to share...so thank you if you enjoy this but alot credit should be shared by the people listed here.

**INSTALATION INSTRUCTIONS**

Please make sure you backup your files before patching!

Firstly, download afs_explorer HERE (http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index.php?file_id=14508) if you don't have a copy yet.

1.Open afs explorer, and click on
File>Import AFS Files

2.When the Open Dialog Box appears, click on 'All Files (*.*)' on the 'Files of type:' drop down menu.

3.Now find your cv_0.img file in your PES2008 directory, once you have found and attempted to load it, it may ask if you would like to rebuild the file, click yes and save it with a different name (eg. cv_0a.img), or save it in another safe location.

4.Once it has loaded, click on Advanced>Import Patch. Now locate the Patch Folder you have just downloaded and go into the 'img Files' folder and load cv_0.afp.

5.AFS would then let you select which files you want to select to patch, click 'select all' a few times as it doesnt seem to check all boxes if you just presss it once. Click 'patch' when you are sure all files are checked.

6.AFS would then begin the unpackaging, and if you are prompted to reserve space for some files, click yes and just like the process in 'step 3', save the file with a different name or in a different location.

7.When the patching is completed, close the program and backup your original cv_0.img in a safe location and place your new edited patched .img file into the original PES2008 directory with it's orginal cv_0.img file name (You may delete the backup once you have tested the new cv_0.img file).

8.Repeat 'Steps 2' to '6' again with 'cv_1.img' and 'rv_e.img'. Once those .img files are complete, open the downloaded patch folder, and from 'Option Files' Folder, drag the files 'PES2008_EDIT01.bin' and 'PES2008_OPTION01.bin' into 'My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save', and you're done.

* 'Others - misc' Folder contains the original XBOX Controllers if you prefer them.

A FINAL STEP not included in the Pic-Turoials...

Open the downloaded patch folder, and from 'Option Files' Folder, drag the files 'PES2008_EDIT01.bin' and 'PES2008_OPTION01.bin' into 'My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save', and you're done.

If you still can't install the patch from these instructions, then sorry i can't help you (other than similar problems experienced by NothingHalo), cause this is the best i would be able to explain it.

**"POSSIBLE" SOLUTIONS TO PATCH PROBLEMS**

Vista 64-bit Users

For people experiencing problems for the Vista 64-bit systems, Mr Thomas has solved it by doing the following (many thanks to him for posting) - but please note that it's not guranteed success:

Hi guys

Thanks for all of the messages on here, my first reply because i have got it working and i was having the same problem as a lot of you on here.

I have Windows Vista 64 bit and everything downloaded fine but ingame all the kits were Chelsea White or Chelsea Red.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out what it is and i installed the patch from the Konami web site and it worked, i couldnt believe it.

You have to run the Patch as Administrator or it wont let u run it for some strange reason but its great.

This is only a solution to one of the many problems concerning the 64-bit systems. If this methid fails to work, you should seach or report your problem to the PC Troubleshooting Thread which can be found HERE. (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=53764)

Another promising method by sajkan2007:

OK I see your going through what i've been through and i know how it feels.

Try this.

0) Back up your game saves.

1) Uninstall the game using the disk not the control panel. Insert the PES8 disk let it autorun then choose uninstall from the boot up menu.

2) After uninstall is complete - Go to the KONAMI folder under program files and delete it. In some cases the KONAMI folder may have been removed during the uninstall but double check anyway.

3) Click start button on task bar and go to run, then type regedit and click ok.

4) when regedit opens, Click on edit and then go to Find. A pop will apear type pro evolution soccer 2008 and click on - Find Next.

5) When the search has finnished (may take a while...) regedit will highlight your findings on the right side of the screen. Delete anything that is associated with Pro EVolution Soccer 2008.
WARNING! "make sure you DO NOT delete any files apart from those to do with PES2008"

6) Pressing the F3 button will take you to the next search to find anthing to do with PES2008, as the files are scattered around. Dont worry not much to delete.

7) Once your search is over regedit will alert you that there are no more files found for your search.

8) Now put your disk into the drive if not already in. Install the game but install it as administrator. You can only do this by browsing the disk from and not the autorun feature, as the autorun feature doesnt let you right click on the menu when it appears.

9) Go to the setup file when browsing disk and right click and choose "run as administrator"

10) Install the game and the official patch update. Again run that as administrator too.

11) Then install Deckz patch using AFS explorer, When you run AFS again run as administrator.

12) Apply the patch (refer to deckz patching instructions).

13) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

14) Right click on the PES2008 file and go to properties at bottom.

15) click on the compatibilty tab and tick the "run this program in compatibilty mode for" and select "Windows XP (service pack 2)".

16) on the same pop up go down to "Privilege Level" and tick "Run as Administrator".

17) Now cross your fingers and wish for the best try running the game....

The above is what I did and it worked a wonder. :) I hope this works for you too.

Yo Deckz,

Cheers for the info, managed to get it sorted in a different way, which I believe will work for anyone else having Vista 64 issues.

Basically, when you rebuild and patch the files they go into a part of the img folder called 'compatibility files', for which there's a button on the header of the folder to access this area. So, these files get stored in this compatibility file area and dont actually effect the game.

All you have to do is cut them and paste them in the normal area, overwrite all the files that are already there, then follow your original instructions.

Hmm, have I made that sound clear enough? If not let me know and I'll do some pics or summat. It really could be the difference between playing a Master League and committing suicide, for us Vista 64-ers.

Auto-Load Problems

Make sure you have both the edit file (PES2008_EDIT01.bin) and option file (PES2008_OPTION01.bin) are in the "My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save" folder then launch both load settings from system settings, AND load data from within edit.

Then turn auto-save on, and do a final save just to make sure.

Also, use fresh EDIT and OPTION files just incase the previous ones were accidently overwritten.

Problem with PES 2008 PC NOT LOADING OPTION FILES.

my problem came back. its tempermental.

basically you install pes as admin, then if ANOTHER user plays pes, not admin. then ownership of the game transfers over. then when the game is run as admin it won't load the option file as its inside another users directory and programs arn't allowed to look there. (obviously)

in bbbb's case it this seems it. the only solution is to play the game as that other user, or manually load both the option file and the edit file within the game.

hope this helps.

i belive theres a pc patch 1.20 that fixes this, but it wouldnt install for me saying error thats it.

basically that is the problem, for best results install pes under one user only and only use the game as that user. i cleaned the lot and made a seperate user account called pes, and only use it for playing pes and patching pes thats it.

Audio Bars

As for the sound bars not showing, i think they use a different code to control say a console not a PC sound card as konami removed them so the game doesnt crash. just use windows mixer to control the sound.

and anyone wanting to use a PS3 Sixaxis with PES2008, then all you need is libusb filter but the older 0.1.10.1 version and the PS3 Sixaxis usb mode initiator program. then once the lib usb is installed you simply plug in the pad via USB and run the initiator and then press the playstation button and its good to go. the lights on the pad will flash constantly but it does work, also ps3 needs to be off if you have one.

Thanks to these guys who have helped with troubleshooting.

**INSTALATION INSTRUCTIONS**

Please make sure you backup your files before patching!

Firstly, download afs_explorer HERE (http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index.php?file_id=14508) if you don't have a copy yet.

1.Open afs explorer, and click on
File>Import AFS Files

2.When the Open Dialog Box appears, click on 'All Files (*.*)' on the 'Files of type:' drop down menu.

3.Now find your cv_0.img file in your PES2008 directory, once you have found and attempted to load it, it may ask if you would like to rebuild the file, click yes and save it with a different name (eg. cv_0a.img), or save it in another safe location.

4.Once it has loaded, click on Advanced>Import Patch. Now locate the Patch Folder you have just downloaded and go into the 'img Files' folder and load cv_0.afp.

5.AFS would then let you select which files you want to select to patch, click 'select all' a few times as it doesnt seem to check all boxes if you just presss it once. Click 'patch' when you are sure all files are checked.

6.AFS would then begin the unpackaging, and if you are prompted to reserve space for some files, click yes and just like the process in 'step 3', save the file with a different name or in a different location.

7.When the patching is completed, close the program and backup your original cv_0.img in a safe location and place your new edited patched .img file into the original PES2008 directory with it's orginal cv_0.img file name (You may delete the backup once you have tested the new cv_0.img file).

8.Repeat 'Steps 2' to '6' again with 'cv_1.img' and 'rv_e.img'. Once those .img files are complete, open the downloaded patch folder, and from 'Option Files' Folder, drag the files 'PES2008_EDIT01.bin' and 'PES2008_OPTION01.bin' into 'My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save', and you're done.

* 'Others - misc' Folder contains the original XBOX Controllers if you prefer them.

Please note that although I may be updating this patch in the future, I would not be accepting most requests to include or remove any features within this patch unless it interests me due to the fact that I would be very busy after Christmas.
However i still welcome you to offer your input as there may be a chance i would take on a few changes.

Same here! When i patch the files i dont get the club emblems for the teams apart from the league emblems, I also get the chelsea kit on man united its all puzzled up.

Also what does it mean when AFS asks if you want to apply another patch!
Do we select yes or no?

I patched the game and it seems to work so far but I didn't patch everything...

let me explain:

I had no problems with the other two files, only this one.

just played a few games and i've noticed that wigan and west ham home kits show as white with the chelsea logo/sponsor etc and both away kits show as red with chelsea logo/sponsor..

Guys this patch works perfectly except for a couple of minor things which have already been brought to deckz attention.

I know you are asking if this step is a must since you probably want to save a few minutes in patching. But seriously mate why would that be there in the instructions if it is not a must? Follow the instructions guys, dont skip anything and you will be fine.

I cant imagine how many hours of work has gone into this patch and then in the end we all seem to sound like its not enough or persist for more help.

There is probaly no need to save a new file for the cv_1.img as there may be enough reserved space to carry out the process of patching those files.

You should have everything patched by now if you haven't abandoned the cv_1.img process.

If there are any probelms, please come back.

Yes, you can.

There are plenty of online stores that distribute Playstation-USB adapters. Other type of controllers are made specifically for the PC but has more or less the same layout as a Playstation controller.

New updates include fixes for the West Ham and Wigan kits, a few edits/updates on embles, and all Classic and Master League players have their names renamed to real life.

I highly recommend those that have downloaded the previous version to update due to the minor errors that was previously made, aswell as improvements in certain departments.

It would be fine to directly patch over the previous version.

I could not download it on Filefront. Also Megaupload is problematic as we need to install the tool bar . A lot of us would not like to miss this patch given the fact that we can fill up Div1 & 2 with teams from the same country. Is it possible to upload this on sendsave,Zshare , Rapidshare or MIHD. I have re-installed the game and followed the instructions with fresh files. When I patch and run the game I get the League emblems but dont seem to get the club emblems. Also some teams have chelsea kit instead of there own.

Done exactly the way in the instructions. Patched all the files stated. Also placed the .bin files into KONAMI Documents folder. Cant understand what is wrong. Would be nice to see a tutorial wiv pics.

I just patched my own PES with the very raw files of each cv_0.img, cv_1.img, and rv_e.img and everything worked fine.

I sound like a broken record with all teh thank yous lol. But really man thanks, this patch has made the game so much better.

I just intalled it and its perfect, cant see anything wrong with it. And I love the Legends teams and players with their real names. FANTASTIC!

I also installed the ball pack by ghostx, its a very good set of popular balls, if you are ever making another version, you may want to consider this little addition.

Sorry mate, cant write much more gotta go and kick some ass with my new look chelsea team. :)

Yeh, I considered including a ballpack i collected myself. But for things like, balls, faces, boots, adboards, etc, i won't include cause i know lots of people have their own preferances.
I didn't install any of the balls that was provided by previous patches i have downloaded cause i already have my own set, so i guess alot of the people would be feeling the same if i have included them.

I may release seperate ball backs within the next few days...i'll release a screenshot first, and if people like em, i'll release them.

Seems I've got most things right, I have kits,logo's flags ect. the only thing i'm missing is real team names Prem and champ, I can edit the prem ones no probs, but the champ I'm locked out on. I have followed instructions to the letter. Any help greatly appriecated.

Guys, some of you have problems for different reasons. Here are some things that might be causing it, so see if you fit any categories.

1. Using the wrong version of afs explorer. Make sure its version 3.7.
2. Make sure you have enough RAM, some people who have 512mb of RAM might experience some problems.
3. FOLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS! As can many others the patch works just fine.
4. Make sure there are no other programs running in the background.
5. If all else fails start from scratch and follow the instructions again.

Thanks for the awesome patch, and I've got all working apart from one little glitch...

I had a saved ML game before I patched the files, and now the team I had in the saved game doesn't seem to be affected by the patch, i.e. all teams but mine have the right kit and everything, which is really annoying. Can I play around with save files to get my team's kit changed as well since I don't want to start my ML all over again just to get the right kit!

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunetly, patches does not affect the Master League files started prior to the installation of patching.

Yes, it's perfectly normal, the 8090.bin and 8091.bin are flag files for national teams that are not playable for PES2008.
I have those flags availible, but done in another style so it may look abit unapropriate to have two set of flags in one patch.

I am still getting half the result wiv patching. I dont get club emblems or kits. other than that the rest is ok.

This is what I get when I try to patch the cv_0.img and rv_e.img files.

AFS explorer doesnt ask be to save the cv_0.img file when i import it. It loads up and then i have to import the patch for anything to happen.

When I import patch (F8) I get the message:

"Patch Description: Enter Game + patch description here (max.64 chars.) Are you sure you want to load it?
Note: temporal storage is needed.
Be sure free space on your windows partition is at least that of patch length.

YES / NO

I then click Yes, if i click no it says failed to load patch.

Then AFS extracting files.

Then: Do you want load another AFS patch?

YES / NO

I click NO as I havent done with this cv_0.afp patch.

Then: initializing file tree

Then select all 10 times or more to make sure they are all selected and click patch.

AFS then importing patch

AFS then imports.....updating list.....patch imported

I then save the file for building and replace the original wiv the new build.

I do the same for the rest of files aprt from the cv_1.img, which only patches the file.

I then copy both bin files to the documents Konami folder in save folder.

What can i be doing wrong. Any suggestions, help.

I think that guy downloaded corrupted files, and simply solved it by downloading fresh ones where I reckon your's is an anetirely different problem that I just can't understand.

I'm sorry, I really thought I would be able to help you from finding that thread, but it didnt really offer any insight at all.
Just like sajkan, other than retrying the process with completely fresh .img files from the orginal game DVD or ISO, I can't really offer any more suggestion as these problems are beyond my understanding.

Im going to replace the image files with original ones from Game DVD, now when i open the premier league my game crashes and vista offers to close the program.

I think it should fix it if a i try new .img files and start again. plus i downloaded AFS explorer again and it seems to work the way you intstructed in the tutorial.

how much space do you need.....i got 18gig free space, when i follow the instructions it sayz i dont have enough memory :(

18GBs is more than enough free space, i hae no idea why afs_explorer would read that there is not enough space.

Can you tell me at which stage of the patching does this problem occur?

Im going to replace the image files with original ones from Game DVD, now when i open the England League my game crashes and vista offers to close the program.

I think it should fix it if a i try new .img files and start again. plus i downloaded AFS explorer again and it seems to work the way you intstructed in the tutorial.

Lets hope and see the results, I will keep you upto date.

Yeh, if the game crashes when you try to access the Premier League then there is a high probability the .img(s) files are corrupted.

Most reccomended to use fresh files from DVD/ISO. And just incase copy the PES_EDIT1.bin to 'My Documents' once more.

OK! I've tried re-installing the game, copying the new .img files from DVD, removed the game folders or anything relating to pro evo 2008 in regedit. I still get a half loaded patched file and game crash. the game now seems to crash everytime i select an option also the patch is still the same as before.

Now the game wont even work! LOL! I give up. Pro evo 2006 works fine.

After un-installing / re-installing pro evo 8 i still get the patched file settings and game crash. I have also deleted the KONAMI folder from program files on windows vista and also deleted the KONAMI folder in documents folder.

I have also replaced the img folder in program files/KONAMI with the original from game DVD.

Whats wrong any suggestions.

yeh, i have read somewhere in the forums that vista posses many problems, and i think you may have to check resolution settings aswell if you want smooth game play for 64bit, aswell as installing official patch (nothing here is certain by the way).
I don't remember where i read it, but i'm sure you'll be able to find it in the problems thread, or somewhere else in PES2008 General Discussions.

Hi Deckz thancks for the quick reply and I solved that problem but now i am stuck on the last bit i am quite confused so i've done the patching but do I put the patched files into the file from my documents/konami etc. or on another file, the pes2008 file from the cd on mycomputer?

Isit because you still have the original .img file with the same file-name there?...therfore unable to copy files into the same folder without same names.

Thanks I "reinstalled" PES2008 and tried the instructions all over again and i found out i was doing it in the cd drive and not the disk in program files so that was the problem and i've played the game with the new stuff and it is amazing so thanks for the quick reply and help.

It depends what type of patch(es) you want/going to install.
If it is something small like ball, adboard, scoreboard, turf, face, etc then it would not effect the Championship Patch.
If it is a big patch similar to the Bundesliga Patch or any other patches that replaces teams, then it would definetly affect the Championship Patch.

I managed to get it all to its original install with no updates. When I installed the patch again exactly the way its meant to be in the tutorial, I still experience crashing of the game when i select the england league or other leagues. It works ok on international leagues, although at time half way through a game it crashes. Also I went into edit mode to see if the emblems changed, still the same old club logos aprt from the main league ones which have changed. strange.
I have installed update graphics drivers too and DirectX10.

Any suugestions?

Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT Ultra Graphics Card

I'm sorry again, I still do not understand why this problem is occuring on your system.
Have you tried searching the Problems Thread as I think I've seen a few posts that refers to the 64-bit Vista.

ok, i have done everything and i am satisfied. However, every time I exit the game and when i come back i have to load the settings from the edit menu or everything remains how it was before. Is there a way to make the settings load automatically?

I think that may be a problem with the settings for PES2008, I have this problem when I forgot to plug in my controller into the PC. Since I have set my contoller input details in the settings.exe file and PES2008 fails to detect it, my option files fails to load.
I don't know if that is the same problem you have, as I have seen this complaint in various threads.
Search around, I'm sure you'll find a solution.

By the way, the settings.exe can be accessed in:
Start Menu > All Programs > KONAMI > Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 > Settings.

Sorry, not sure mate, but i really doubt PS3 Patchers would be able to patch it to the extent of PC version due to the fact the PC files can easily be accessed within the computer it self while PS3's system files are all burnt on disc and all they got are the in game editors.

About the easy option files from previous versions, they changed the format where the kits can only be edited with detail through the .img files. The seperate Option Files are only used for player settings/history and cups/teams' name/lineup.
AND, the option file should load automatically, as I have previously stated in just a few posts prior to this one that various user/pc problems causes these errors to occour, with solutions that can be accessed from searching through this forum.

p.s.: What's the problem with the new PES? I think it is more challenging and realistic than 2006. I am not saying it is the kinda game a could play forever, but a top notch fight with your roomate from time to time could be really thrilling with it...

Yeh, i agree PES2008 is still a great game, but i feel PES is becoming abit repetitive after the last few years, since they haven't made major improvesments within the games and i am basically doing the same things over and over again every year with new PES's.
Win D2 and D2 Cup first year, then the D1 and D1 Cup, then including the European Cup every year after that, been like that since PES4, even with using the default players (Castolo & crew) and Cheat Prevention Save.
But I'll still continue playing the series as I have started from the earliest editions of Winning Eleven (Japan ver)

lol...hi mate, first of all, there is an edit button at the bottom of your post so you wouldn't need to start a new one whenever you have additional comments to add.

Secondly, do you have any reliable internet security programs (need a few to survive these days...), if you do then I have no idea why the trojan threats are being generated as the sites provided are perfectly safe.
If you don't, heres some highly recommended stuff: NOD32, Webroot SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor.

Thirdly, there is no file in the patch nor have i indicated in the tutorials where a file named ca_0.img exists.
The files you should be concentrating on are cv_0.img, cv_1.img and rv_e.img while the patch files are the same but with .afp file extenstions instead of .img

Please get back to me if you still experience problems.

Yeh, the kits is not possible to edit within the game editor.
If you would like to produce your own teams, you would need Game Graphic Studio (GGS) to apply the kit PNGs over a certain team. You would also need Footbal Manager (preferably 2008) to transfer the player stats via a program called Verter. The players can be edited through the normal on-game editor.

The kits are stored in cv_0.img

It is perfectly fine, as I have stated in the last screenshot that cv_1.img may not need a second rebuild.

I think that cv_0.img may be corrupted, but I recommend that you should re-do the whole patch using all three cv_0.img, cv_1.img and re_v.img fresh from the DVD/ISO, I would also advise you to re-download the patch just to make sure incase something went wrong during the downloading proccess.

No worries about this as I have experienced this problem myself, and what I have stated above are the proccesses I took to solve it.

Yes, Man Utd's home and away kits are correct, as are every other teams in the game.

But this patch is for PC only, it would not work for the XBOX-360.

There are a few good quality ones in this forum, shouldn't be too hard to find, check the Completed Files section again.
Even though I have not played PES2008 on 360, I recommend the W.E.N.B. Option File as that was the most anticipated one, and from the screenshots; it looked good

The Southampton kit arrangement is fine within Game Graphic Studio. If it is the Master League you are talking about, they tend to unnecessarily choose your away kits for certain matches as well as removing the 'choose kits' feature.
I have the same annoying problem wiith my ManUtd kits in the ML.

Hey guys, i have got a problem with this patch.

I followed all the instructions etc. and when i finally play the game the kits and comp. logos dont show up. Whatever team i play with in the premiership they all have a pink and white chelsea kit. Also the championship patch and hd badges etc. dont show up aswell.

I reinstalled PES2008 3 times and tried 3 times aswell but always comes up with the same result. Im also using Windows Vista.

Can someone please help me on what to do to make it work?

Open afx explorer, and once you have opened cv_0.img click on Action>Import folder then locate the appropriate folder from downloaded patch and click OK. some files may need file reubuilding, if this is the case, when prompted do the same as instructed in screenshot 5 of my Pic-Tutorial on the first page.

Now do the same for rv_e.img

From the problems stated in your post, it seems as though you may only have cv_1.img patched, with cv_0.img and maybe rv_e.img un-patched.

And also, are you using a 64-bit system? Cause other 64-bit Vista users are experiencing problems I don't understand.

Hi guys

Thanks for all of the messages on here, my first reply because i have got it working and i was having the same problem as a lot of you on here.

I have Windows Vista 64 bit and everything downloaded fine but ingame all the kits were Chelsea White or Chelsea Red.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out what it is and i installed the patch from the Konami web site and it worked, i couldnt believe it.

You have to run the Patch as Administrator or it wont let u run it for some strange reason but its great.

Only thing i am trying to come to terms with is playing on an XBOX 360 controller as Vista isnt picking up my PS2 ones.

Never mind, Thx Decks for a great patch

Hi there,

First of all massive thanks to Decks for having made this patch and for on top of that taking the time to help people out with installation issues. This is really putting in an astounding amount of work for the general good...

I am having great trouble though installing the patch. Same issues as for Mr Thomas above when playing British teams: "ingame all the kits were Chelsea White or Chelsea Red." Plus EPL badges not appearing and Championship teams + names copied over French Ligue clubs badges/kits (Lyon is in fact Barnsley or some team like that).

I have tried installing the patch 5 times, using the pictorial setp-by-step and I have also reinstalled the game 3 times. Still not good. I am running Windows XP2 Version 2002 Service Pack 2 32 bit and am logged in as administrator.

Much grateful if someone could help me out...PES is so so much better with the real kits, badges and names!
