Quick question lads,
My 19'' Samsung HD tv arrived today. I'm just wondering how I get my X-Box 360 playing through it on the highest quality and how I go about it.
I have a HDMI cable but don't see anywhere I can put it on the back of the 360
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Only the new Elite 360s come with an HDMI connection. If you got yours in November 2006 it won't have an HDMI connection, in which case you will have to use an HD Component cable, or VGA as Jonny suggested. I don't know the relative merits of each but I use component and it does me fine.
Here is what you're looking for :

It doesnt look like an HDMI but it does look like a serial port
yeah after looking at it... thats if you got a monitor, PLUS it doesnt do 1080p only 720p...

Yep, the VGA one is a 'monitor' type cable, whereas the component cable is more standard TV one.

i use the one which came with my 360 and as you said in the PM that you have the same tv as me , i just switched the thing on the av cable to HD and changed the output or whatnot to 1080p or 1080i can't remember which one it is.

I was just about to post this mate. I switched the switch on the normal cable to HD, plugged in all the leads at the back and just changed the setting to 1080i on the system settings. (I couldn't get it to work on 1080p).
I must say I noticed a huge difference immediately, especially on Pro Evo. Looks really sweet

As others have said, only the new model Xbox's have HDMI (it's not only the Elite's as mentioned... I got my XBox in November 07 and it is not elite, but it does have HDMI slot). To be honest, it doesn't make that much different for most games in comparsion to original 360 cables.

My mum bought this HD TV for her bedroom and it makes some irrating buzz noise so she's sending it back and it's getting picked up next Friday. It annoyed her so much that she packed it up and started using her old tele so I asked could I test my Xbox on it and the quality is amazing, I don't really notice the buzzing when I'm on a game or playing music.
