My current contract is due to expire with O2 and I'm not renewing it just to get a free upgrade, as there's plenty of decent deals out there.

I'm looking to get a PS3 with it, don't want the monthly cost to be more than £45 or a contract longer than 18 months.

I'm not too fussy when it comes to phones, but I don't want to buy an old, poor phone when I can ask you guys for your opinions.

I'm looking at getting it through www.dialaphone.co.uk so if you could even provide a link to the deal, that would be even more spiffy.

Cheers in advance fellas.

iPhones suck ass. Might as well just get a Touch & a 3G phone.

Knew you'd be first to reply ;)

Got a Song Ericsson W850i

Would prefer an O2 contract, but could stretch to 3 if I didn't have to pay too much for the actual phone.

How about Sony Ericsson W960i (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/overview/w960i)? I'm not just saying it because I'm getting one.

It looks a decent phone, 8GB internal memory, 3G, WiFi etc. Camera could be better but 3MP is good enough.

The Nokia N95 Black Jonny got is very good too.

Anything a bit less pricey?

Bry what do you need it for?

No point getting a W series phone if you don't want it for music. Get a K series if you want a good camera and have no/very limited musical requirement. Do you even like Sony Ericsson's or are you wanting another brand of phone?

i got the Samsung U600 almost the day it came out. £35 a month for 600txts 600minutes(or something like that) and it's on orange so i get orange wednesdays and i can phone my girlfriend whenever i want. So i was chuffed. Less than a month later i found the same deal but for £40 a month with a free PS3. I sooooooooooo wish i got that deal :(

You lot get free PS3's with phones?! It's fucking shitting here! The mobile market is not as competitive.

I'm not overly fussed, I just don't want to be stuck with a "shite" phone for 12-18 months.

I'd prefer a phone with a decent camera over one with decent music stuff. I like Sony Ericsson's, but wouldn't be overly fussed if I went over to a different make.

Before getting any of the phones suggested by anyone here, read up on their battery life (not just specifications but actual reviews). The worst thing is a great phone that dies after one hour of use and 12 hours of being idle.

The last 3 or so of my phones have had poor battery life :/

if you're looking for a good phone don't get the U600 or any phone like it. it has "auto focus" so it take 5-10 seconds before it takes a picture. it's a nightmare!!

Don't worry, you only have to make do with it for 18 months :/

The K series Sony Ericsson phones are good and in my experience (K750 and K810i) have good battery life (the 750 battery was shit after twelve months though)

See that was the first one I looked at, however I have to shell out £170 odd on top.

Think of it as an investment.

The K810i isn't exactly shit and should be available free. Alternatively can't you wait a couple of months if you can't find a suitable phone now in the hope prices drop? The market is pretty much dead so there won't be much in terms of new releases.

I would do but my current contract ends this month, so I'd have to go a month or two without one :/

That's not how it works. You have to give 30 days notice to cancel your contract. Once you're out of the initial contractual period, you can call at any time and then have to keep the contract (and payments) for 30 days. I've repeatedly upgraded a twelve-month contract "late" as I was waiting for a phone. You end up on a rolling contract akin to crap footballers in FM who won't leave the club even though you've not offered them a deal.

O2, though bloody useless, should be able to confirm this for you.

You can always release your FM players on a free. ;)

Although I cancelled my contract after the 12 months too and it worked fine. I just switched to PAYG though.

Worth a read/quick scan. Looks quite nice.
