lol however dont just dismiss it as it is a component of your system and I have heard of known issues with certain soundcards... If you find out your soundcard for us then if u do have a potential problem we will be able to solve it a heck of a lot easier.... does everyone technically minded agree?

Not used any of those, but from what I know of them both, I would say the 5200FX, over the 440mx. Still, neither is brilliant, but the FX will do a bit more than the mx440 I would say.

How do you overclock the Processor?
This depends on a number of factors including your processor type, Motherboard, if your cooling is adiquite, if your PSU can supply enough juice and if your BIOS isn't locked (some company Pcs have locked a bios).
Post some details and I'll help you. :)

Both are utter shite and should be avoided. Unless you play games that are 3-4 years old then it will be fine. Do you have a budget? If so post it and see if we can get you something better with your cash. :)

There is no card called a GeForce 5. I am not sure though why you cannot open PES3 with the 7000 (isn't the greatest card, not by a long shot but PES3 doesn't use features like shaders so in theory should at least run).
What is the name of the error you get, and make sure you have updated to Direct X 9 and the latest drivers for your video card. Visit www.Microsoft.com and www.ati.com respectively for these things.

Agreed. My first PC was a Dell, and while basically it was OK, the components weren't worth the cost, and the customer care was non-existant. I built my second, and I'm far happier with the result.

Yes it is a know problem, had to change mine because it just got worse and worse.. Today I am the VERY happy owner of a couple of "Nyko Airflow PC" pads...

It's not great, but it's fast enough for me as I use it for snooker, pool, golf, GrandPrix4, graphic/web design (photoshop, imageready, Ulead, dreamweaver, flash), audio editing and music making (goldwave, reason, cubase, soundforge), porn, music, picture slideshows, VCD/DVD's. And whatever. I have 2 PS2 pads linked up for playing games and stuff.
I've got it to do some pretty cool stuff though, the windows shell has been replaced with Aston (http://www.astonshell.com/index.html) (worth a gander, looks class) . Which lets you customize your desktop. No icons cluttering up my screen, just sleek drop down bars with lists of shorctuts and program/game lists. I can control the whole thing from a PS2 pad (so I can lie on my bed and read, and listen to my mp3 jukebox without moving.)
And I'm tight aswell so it won't get upgraded til I really need it.

my system is as follows;
AMD XP 1.8
512 MB DDR 400 MHZ RAM
ASUS GE FORCE 5200 VMAGIC 128 MB

26-01-2005, 23:54
AND WHAT ABOUT THIS:
- Windows XP SP1
- Pentium III 1Ghz
- 512 Mb RAM (Dimm, not DDR)
- ATI 7200 All-in-Wonder Radeon 32 Mb (my father bought it in 2001, if i'm not mistaken)
- 1.5 Gb free in drive C:
- Avance Sound 5.10 (built-in sound card)
- No game updates applied, yet...
Now, you might think that this is the crappiest system specs of all, but the truth is that i'm playing in [1024*768/High Quality], and the game even runs just a little bit FASTER that i would prefer; but the flow is so0oO SMOOTH... NO LAGS, NO FLICKS, no nothing... i even had to turn ON the Effects in the Stadium, switch to Max attendance for either Home and Away team supporters in the stadium... but it looked like i had done nothing... the gameplay remains the same, nice speed and smoothness all the way...
The only thing i did today (b4 playing), was to update my ATI Drivers, using the latest ATI Catalyst Drivers (www.ati.com)...
I'm really surprised... i didn't expect such a good performance from my system, but there you have it !!! :)

i have just downloaded the demo and on my 2.93ghz p4 512mb ram 400mhz and nvidia 5200 PCI 256mb i played on 1280x1024 with high detail, theres slight slowdown during play but u hardly notice it and the most slowdown is when a goal is scored and theres a cut scene - so it plays fine, but i wanna know if u recomend i buy it? i already have it for xbox but it looks loads better on pc specialy with better patching options, also is the full version of the game better in terms of performance than the demo? or has there been patches that make it better?

Pretty mediocre. Started out with my Dad's 1993 IBM Aptiva 486, kept replacing a part, replacing another part, piece by piece over the years. Today, the only original part left is the mouse! The mouse doesn't work so well anymore, but I don't wanna replace it cause it kinda makes me feel like I'm still using the same machine that I started out with when I was a kid.

AIRFLO Controller (kinda nice in the summer :))
UPDATE:
I replaced the celeron with a Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz, and the mouse finally pooped out on me. :(
Can someone recommend a better video card for under 200 bucks (GBP113.05)?

Is there really need for it?
Don Sweey
22-12-2005, 12:35
Unfortunately yes as everything has gone to PCI-Express and I need to get back as much money as possible by selling my 6800GT which was rather expensive but is an AGP card. Therefore I need a motherboard with PCI-E, a processor which can be used on the motherboard and a PCI-E graphics card - and a socket 939 motherboard was the way to go. The RAM was due to my inkling of exactly who I can sell my existing motherboard, processor, graphics card and RAM to. Fingers crossed I'll recoup around £500 from selling those as they all worked perfectly with one another.

You could try going into the BIOS settings and see if you're told there. I'm sure it mentions it somewhere whilst it boots the system but I might be thinking back a very long time to the good old days when 256MB of RAM was more than enough.

Btw im thinking of getting a second gfx card to run SLI, will any Nvidia 6800 Ultra be ok or do i need to have the exact same card as i already have to make SLI work properly?

celeron 2.6 Ghz (crap!)
768MB DDR RAM
Radeon 9600se 128MB
SoundBlaster Audigy mp3+
AIRFLO Controller (kinda nice in the summer :))
UPDATE:
Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz
768MB DDR RAM
Radeon X-800 XL 256 MB
SoundBlaster Audigy mp3+
AIRFLO Controller
Much nicer :)

ahh cpu's are pretty much the same. dispite what people say. Ive always tended to go with pentiums though, as they have a slightly better processing speed, and i need it, as i use Autocad a lot. :)
and the 24" screens, nice... but for the price my pc cost, i couldnt afford the extra for the 24"
