Splashed out 130 quid on one of the new iPod Nano's today and so far I'm loving it. It is however a tricky little bastard at times. Anyone else got one?

I'm looking for some general iPod advice regarding getting videos on it plus photos, etc. Am I able to use a pic as the background?

Plus whats the quickest way to delete stuff of it and am I able to edit the song titles, artists, etc as I am persnickety like that.

Cheers in advance

Throw it out of a window, preferably a 10th floor one.

See my comment above but considering going up to a 15th floor window or even a 20th floor window for some glorious bonus points.

50!

I got one at Christmas mate, although Don Sweey will be glad to know its not out of choice. My brother spends hours on iTunes editing titles and all that but I can't be arsed. Only thing I would recommend is getting a case or skin for it as the nano gets damaged and scratched very easily. I got a really good one off Play.com for £12, theres loads available.

I'm like your brother. I hate seeing that a song doesn't have a album cover.

Yup make sure you get a case or skin.

Also just muck around with iTunes. At first I found it a bit of a pain but once you get use to it it really is pretty decent.

Would it be worth shelling out an extra £70 for the ipod touch??

I'd personally shell out an extra £20 and get an 80GB classic

To edit MP3 names etc I use Picard from www.musicbrainz.org, which works good enough for me. Dunno if there's better ones around.

To convert video files into iPod format try the video converter here http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html

If you want to use software other than iTunes, which is rather bloated, Anapod seems to be the recommended one.

No, it'd be worth buying something with good audio output quality i.e. not an iPod of any sort. An iPod is a fashion accessory, an MP3 player is for music.

Ask Don Sweey :coffee:

Good man. You sir have gone up another level in my estimation...just don't ruin it by going out and buying dirty Apple products.

You didn't need to, its to be expected. They probably don't even provide a 24-hour warranty for the sack of shit they manufacture.

Shh, don't get him started.

Same here.

I too hate to see a song without an album cover, though some that were already on are strange for example, this was the album art for:

Flo Rida ft T-Pain - Low

and for, Living In A Box - Living In A Box

How in the hell do I transfer individual songs or do I constantly need to make a playlist?

Sully

You add all to the library and it will sync the songs onto the ipod, It won't take as long as when you first synced all your music to it

File>Add File to Library - Individual songs/video.
File>Add Folder to Library - Folder of songs.

Keep your iPod on manual sync.

I've managed to put songs on no bother but the videos are not going on.

Despite the fact I converted them (Using the link Zoolander posted in the elite)

Any ideas the problem. The file is now MPEG.4

Edit- Got it working fine

I'm planning to get one of these, but i'm having second thoughts now as it seems that its not the best for music. Anyone have any suggestions for a alternate one?

McGregor

It is actually pretty good mate.

I've now got all my music on it plus album covers, etc and thats me just finished putting a Boxing Review show on plus a Simpsons and South Park episode.

A zen is your best alternative but it's price is t's downfall. An 80GB ipod is cheaper then a 30GB zen

 I haven't downloaded it yet. I always feel a bit cautious when downloading updates for ipods and itunes just in case that happens, but so far I've been alright. Don't think I'll download the update just yet.

I only had like 5GBs worth of stuff on it so it won't take long to get it back. Everything was backed up anyway.

I had my iPod plugged into my 360 there and when I switched off my 360 and took it out the screen has went all white and doesn't seem to be coming back.

I think it is completely knackered.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Depends what you want to do with it. Are you wanting to jail break (hack) it or just keep it as it is?
