Many moons ago i used to use Winamp on my desktop & found it better than Windows Media Player.

What's the best media player currently available?

I'm looking at mainly music, I don't really watch video on my PC.

For Music i use iTunes, by far the best.

Video i use VLC or WMP or Divx Player, depends on what it is i'm watching.

I just use Windows Media Player but I have the same stuff as Sean Kingston plus Real Player.

I use WinAmp. Its discrete yet nice, uses little resources and has the right level of functionality. I can't stand Windows Media Player.

The last time i used it it was pretty basic & the playlists could be an arse. Always found it saved music from CD quicker...

Has it improved much & does it still have the small bar with track data & basic play buttons that you can actually stick over the start menu bar?

iTunes rapes computers and transmits a sexual infection.

Winamp is probs the best. iTunes is shit. I don't have a problem with Windows Media Player however.

I've always been a Winamp user. I like the new Bento skin. It looks nice when minimized, and doesn't take much space on your desktop, whilst still allowing you to use all the features. Though i used to have that MMD(sp) skin installed. It's legendary.

For videos i tend to use Real Player. I like the new black skin.

WinAmp FTW. I founds iTunes and WMP to both be rubbish and seemed to be unable to recognise half of my music files for no apparent reason.

I use VLC just now. Winamp is probably my favourite though. My Skin was a fridge that you had to open to play/stop/rewind etc lol!

Foobar is just for audiophiles who have a few spare hours to stop it from looking like shit.
