And you might find a preview, but not a review, as no-one would've played it yet. :P

Not as far as I know.

I think that KCET have scheduled a PES 2009 game for the PS2 at least for the time being. If you go back to 2001 when the first PES game came out, there was also a PS1 version of that game as well. There was also a PS1 version of PES2 as well.

Like aj1981 pointed out earlier in this thread, I believe that KCET realise that not everyone has bought a PS3 or an Xbox 360 yet.

And as the PS2 was the most popular console before the next-gen consoles came out, they then realised that they'll have to continue to make a game for the PS2 so that they don't miss out on extra sales of the game for the people who have not bought a PS3 or an Xbox 360.

Let's face it, KCET are all about chasing the pounds now. I think they'll continue to monitor the situation in regards to the number of PS3s or Xbox 360s sold this year but I don't think they'll decide to ditch the PS2 until Christmas this year (where most of the next-gen consoles will sell most likely due to a price drop) at the earliest which means that there may not be a PES 2010 for the PS2 next year.

i just looked at my calendar,all big games released on a friday(apart from gta4) so with the game always released around the end of october that date about right,every other pes released around that date last 10years so it makes sense to me:)

I don't mean to bring back a dead thread, but I have just a quick question relating to the PES 2009 release date.

I'm in America, so the game does not come out till much after the European version (by the time it comes out here I've got less interest in the game). Should I spend the extra $15 or so bucks to import it? I believe that's about how much it is. I've got a PS3 so there is no problem with the region.

Anybody watch MOTD last night, did you notice the add boards advertising FIFA and PES, FIFA saying OCT 3rd and PES saying "Coming soon", I wonder, would Konami bring the release date forward due to FIFA coming out on the 3rd and also the gap between the games getting smaller and smaller.

What do you guys think? Could we have the game early october, in the seabass interview, didn't he also say we are trying to get it out ASAP; could it be released in Spain in 14 days?

The PC one's scheduled for 17th October on the Play site... it usually comes out at the same time as the others. Then again, Play might be guessing.

Don't put a date in this thread unless you know its correct. It's really misleading so please don't do it again. Who knows when its going to be released, anything could happen. But as usual, it seems as if Fifa will get the head-start being released in the first week of october, i believe its the 3rd (saw it on a major gaming site) so PES will have to have a lot of hype to get some new players or even trying to convert people.
I'll certainly be pre-ordering it :-P

play.com have it as 17/10 and i usuallyu go by them. its anybodys guess, theres no official release date it could push forwards or backwards so just look at some games websites next time as thats all anybody will do to find out a potential release date!

You know Play.com coould be right, cause i read the preview on Gamestop yesterday and they mentioning its out on 17/10/2008, same for the US aswell.

In Holland it is said to be released 1st of October (it is not certain, date can be changed).
