Should also be available on Windows Update but it isn't for me and Microsoft have listed eight possible problems preventing Windows Update from seeing the Service Pack.

The Service Pack is supposed to fix a number of issues, moves files around 50% faster (which is needed considering XP does the job faster on my machine) and brings the PC back from sleep much more quickly.

So is this the Official SP1 for Vista and not another Beta version?

Have you tried installing this yet?

I've been waiting for this to come out for almost a year. My Acer Laptop (that has Vista Premium pre-installed) had some compatibility problems with some Video and DVD software that worked fine on Windows XP.

I'm hoping that this Service Pack can fix the problem.

I installed it yesterday and yes it is the official SP1. Microsoft didn't have any of the Beta versions directly downloadable from what I know. Copying is, as promised, faster.
