Over here, one of our mobile operators recently introduced the 3.5g. The rates are so much better than the current one I'm using.

The speed reaches 3.6 MBPS, where as I'm on 512 KBPS at the moment. I also pay more on the current connection, $68 per month, compared to $45 per month, below 2gb of usage, which will be charged $0.50/MB after 2gb.

What are the pros and cons of it? What are your opinions?

The only thing I know that it is transmitted via satellite(am I right?)

I love how they don't tell you the upload speed (which is the key to why some 10MB connections are shit for gaming and others are useful). There's also the interesting pricing of it - you won't know when you exceed 2GB, if they're monitoring it right and how much of that is made up of lost data transmissions. If the connection is transmitted by satellite I personally think there will be occasional issues. I'd be surprised they're not using fibre-optic cable.

EDIT: Looking again, that speed (3.6) seems rather slow compared to what is available over here and throughout Europe right now. Overall it is probably more beneficial for you, I just think the pricing gives them scope to cheat you out of money although I'm sure you'll still be making a decent saving.

About the speed, I know that we(Bruneians) are ripped off on the pricing. Singapore got higher speed, perhaps 5gb, and I'm sure that they pay less than $30.People argued that it is because of the country's population.

By the way, what are the average upload and download speed of a 3.6 MBPS?

I would only change to this broaband connection if it improves my online gaming speed.

There is no average. The download speed limit is likely around 3500k/s but they should tell you the upload speed. I think most are 1/10 of the download speed. I have a 4MB connection at the moment (meant to be going up to 10MB at some point) and I've just run a speed test which gave a download speed of 3971kbps and upload speed of 365.

Ok, thanks for your information.

Wan, he hasn't got the connection yet. He can't test it until he's signed up for it by which time he doesn't actually need the speed test because whatever it is, he's stuck with it.

Sorry at that.
Just thought that I would help by any circumstances.

That's my speed test, got Verizon DSL, I can play XBOX 360, Wii, and PS2 online without problems, not too familiar with those numbers, is it a good connection?

It's a 1.5/2MB connection which would typically have a 200k/s upload speed but yours has a 400k/s speed which is why gaming online is fine.
