Due to the somewhat lukewarm reception 2008 has received (mainly next gen) i ask which facet of the game should the 'top blokes' at KONAMI address first and foremost for the new game?
Offline is pretty good if I'm being honest, I think a little adjustment on that would be pretty good. Online on the other hand is dire and in need of a complete overhaul.
Other then that, all I would ask for is a more complete edit mode

Same I agree with you. I'm loving my ML franchise, but the offline is poor.

Overhaul..
I feel like PES needs to catch up with the ever getting better Fifa games.

yeh i champion more of the overhaul as i cant be bothered with new game features. The core of game needs improvements i reckon.
The game is completely pointless without a working online mode to be honest. Anyone on any console can play single player, online mode is probably the most important feature for the majority of games released now and to fuck that up royally means you've produced a shit game to be honest.
A completely new edit mode is needed, including vast options of boots, balls, kits, accessories, everything. There was absolutely no point in giving us that "extra league" of 20 teams, especially if we couldn't change the emblems, it's an absolute farce, and Konami deserve to fail due to their sheer laziness.
I want the edit of ps2 back + the camera kits. Also I want the AI like pes 5 and pes 2008 combined. They both had something good. Also the overall speed of the match needs to be decreased.

Definetely, forgot to mention that. It's far too fast, which means that the attack overpowers the defence I think, and obviously it just ruins the reward of scoring. I can't remember which game it was, possibly PES5, but scoring a goal was relatively difficult since the attack/defence was balanced. Therefore scoring actually felt like a reward, something to scream about whereas now it's just mundane.
I think on the old PES games back in the day we had the option of changing the game speed ourselves, where has that gone ? Obviously it maybe difficult to implement for online, but there should be no problem using it in single player.

Well said, but I must point out that I miss the Fantasista mode and a deeper managing mode: negotiate sponsors for team and players, physical preparation, perhaps hiring professionals to help, better individual player stats system...

Yes it was Pes 5 and the game speed (where you can manually change the speed) was in the ps1 versions but I started playing pro evo again on ps2 from pro 3 so I can't say if it was on pro 2 or not.
I completely lost interest in PES2008 within the first month or so and I traded it in for something more enjoyable. Online was lame, and the single player didnt do it for me either, too fast, too arcadey and because Konami wanted to develop on all platforms with a limited number of staff, the PS3 version suffered the most.
Pro Evo 5 and 6 were my favourites on the PS2, they had it more or less perfect then.
Overhaul please.
I guess I'm one of the few who actually thinks the game is good.
Theres plenty I'd like to see for next year though, a wider range of shots/finishing techniques for one, I really like the finesse finishing on FIFA for one.
PES will need something impressive this year cos FIFA seems to be getting better and better, I played their EURO 2008 game and thought it was excellent.
Still Pro for me though in all honesty.

i think they need to make playing with undeveloped players fun. i hate doing cups etc becuase the players are so slow and un agile it feels horribly sluggish and slow (not in the good way). i hate pes 2008 mainly because there are no classic players or any good new borns to play with.
on pes 6 i had an entire team of players with 99s coming out their asses and i loved beating my mate with them. i will never go through a whole world cup to just get pele and zico when on pes 6 i could just buy them. doing it the new didnt make me wanna play the cups it made me not wanna play the ucking game!
