View Full Version : Should switch-hitting be stopped??
Following KP's amazing batting, the Cricket governing body's are reviewing whether switch-hitting should be stopped.
Just because he's the best batsman in the world, they have to stop him switching hands and hitting 6's with his left hand.

I'm gonna sit on the fence with this one, too hard to call.
Sounds like something FIFA would do :erm:
Kevin Pietersen reminds me of Ronnie O'Sullivan, extremely talented but a right cunt.
I don't think it should. It entertains the fans, which is the important thing, and there is nothing drastically wrong with it.

What are you guys talking about? I know the game of cricket from watching but I don't get the terminology at all... :(

 Sorry, he's good but not the best.
As for the switch hitting? it could be construed as gamesmanship and therefore severely frowned upon by the cricket fraternity.
Personally, in 20-20 or one day games it adds to the entertainment level as Yossi said. I'd say leave it. until another batter from another country tries it of course... :shifty:

Basically the stands to bat with his right hand, then as the bowler begins hit run up, he turns to bat with his left hand.

Quoted in agreement. Especially Sanga.
Edit: Heard on the 3pm news that the MCC have approved the switch-hit, saying it makes the game more exciting...
