Whats the general perception regarding Radiohead then about here. Do they live up to the hype or do you regard them as nothing more than mediocre.
If your a fan what is your favorite song and thoughts on the new album.
Quality band. I can understand why they're not some people's cup of tea, but I personally love them. Kind of a "Marmite" thing with them.
Favourite song - My Iron Lung - kinda "unlike Radiohead" when it kicks in, but fuck me what a song.
The new album is decent. Radiohead's albums always take a dramatic change from one to the next, so it was hard to guess what it was gonna be like. Solid album, but nowhere near as good as "The Bends".

I was lucky enough to be given a spare ticket by a friend last time I was in the states and they put on an incredible show.
Radiohead are a band I have overlooked many, many times when buying music - I never thought they were "my thing" - but after seeing them live I went out an bought all their stuff.
Bit of a fan now.
Actually seen Radiohead last Saturday, bit of luck involved. My mates girl took sick and he wouldve had to go alone, so I done him a favour and went along with him.
(Him staying at home with his sick girlfriend was not an option)

Not overly keen. The odd good song here and there but just a bit to down beat for me. I also don't like Coldplay or Keane but I prefer Radiohead of the 3.

No-one like Keane or Coldplay.
I got tickets for the Victoria Park gig for a couple of friends, but not for myself.
As much as I'd like to see them, I can see the gig being more of a festival feeling. And I hate festivals.

Emo for adults.
Oh go and listen to Death Cab ;)
I wouldn't say I'm a 'fan' but I do really like a few of their songs, 'Creep' to me is a modern classic, and I fucking love 'Street Spirit' too.
Having said I'm not a fan I do regard them as an excellent band, cos, well they are.
Some of their stuff is ok. Think i might purchase the greatest hits.
Love Coldplay more tho.
Amazing band, truly amazing. Going to see them at Old Trafford next weekend, I can't wait.
Nearly as over-rated as Led Zeppelin. Nearly. Remember that Top 100 albums ever on TV and Ok Computer came in at no. 1? Pretty retarded, I agree.

My mate flew from Finland for that same gig. :)
I like Radiohead, but I've never been a huge fan.
If I'd have to choose my favourite song from them right now would probably be "Everything In It's Right Place".
I like a bit of Radio head.
I like a bit of Radio head.
Absolutely awesome last night at Old Trafford.
Did they play 'My Iron Lung'?

Wednesday was class, too. Well, the band was great, which I could hardly see due to the surprising amount of lanky Radiohead fans. Plus, I got to the audience about 5 minutes before the band stepped on stage. I battled as far forward as I could, but I did as well as I was going to.
The performance was excellent and the lighting was the best I've ever seen at a gig. Did they have the icicle-type lights at Old Trafford, Jonny?

Just checked on the My Iron Lung thing. No to Jonny, but Dragonfly saw it! The bastard!

They played Victoria Park on Tuesday and Wednesday. I went on Wednesday, which was apparently the best of the two. :smug:
Karma Police was brilliant! Everyone singing "For a minute there, I lost myself" was glorious.

No Surprises was the highlight for me though.

If they played 'I Might Be Wrong' and 'Electioneering', it would've been my best gig ever.

You might be able to shed some light on this, but every time I hear this song, the "to young to fall asleep, to cynical to sleep" line sounds too familiar like I've heard it in another song, I thought maybe Muse borrowed it (since they are a massive influence on them)....
Any ideas?
"Too cynical to SPEAK" ;)
Muse haven't used it, and I can't think of any line that sounds like it?
What a cracking song though. EASILY my favourite of theirs. For it to be on Rock Band is pure sex to me.

Hmm its not very Radiohead but it was used in a play I was in and I enjoyed it. As I said, I'm not the biggest fan...

Especially when it livens up for a few seconds.
I mentioned them earlier, but my favourite Radiohead songs are 'I Might Be Wrong' and 'Electioneering'.
Yup, I love it when their songs are like that.
Why I like My Iron Lung is for that reason, and it's more "rock" than Radiohead usually produce.

A pal who I got tickets for said Kid A is his favourite album, and a lot of people tend to have the same view.
The Bends for me, however.

I've always loved that song, especially the bit that goes "She says that she'd love to come help but, the sea would electrocute us all".
I don't think there are many Radiohead songs I don't like.
