On one side you have Lawro, Motty and Martin O'Neill who seems to have taken the trip as a boozefest. On the other David Pleat and Clive Tyldesley who seem to know very little about football.

ITV has been worse due to an array managers giving pointless insight, and David Pleat messing up with every sentence he speaks.

On the other hand the BBC has Marcel. I believe that's enough said, for sure.

you wont be seeing him anymore I wouldn't think.

David Pleat is so boring.
And why do the BBC persist with that ginger winging midget?
Now he doesn't mind speaking to the press/public.
Because he's getting paid!

For sure.

When the match isn't on, all I seem to see on ITV is adverts. It's almost like they come back from adverts only to tell you adverts are about to come on.

ESPN's American coverage is by far the best. We have Andy "game well and trooly ovah" Gray, Tommy "back of the ol' onion bag" Smyth, and today Juan Pablo Angel was one of the pundits. :smug:

Well at least you can choose from two bad coverages. In Finland the commentary has been absolute shite, but the studio part is actually somewhat interesting. At least they have had some players and coaches in the studio who have something to say.

Barry
19-06-2008, 12:01
You can watch re-runs here a day after the game on Eurosport but they have the lousiest of commentators who all lack enthusiasm.

Normal coverage is good though, on the public channels. During half-time I go do something else, I mean I can form my own opinions on the half of football I just saw.

Of course. The guy doesn't have a fucking clue Mig as i'm sure you know.

It's the mispronunciation (?) of players names that annoys me too, I remember when I used to watch matches on TV of Newcastle in Europe (those were the days) and we had David Ginola on the left and Keith 'Jillespie' on the right. I hate him.

It's like he pronounces names the way they used to appear on the older versions of ISS.

Hard one looking at peoples opinions i think the BBC picture quality is better for me anyway

BBC + Marcel Desailly, picture quality
- Alan Hanson and Mark Lawrenson (Who sounds like a gay who has been served a bad Mojito)

John Motson should take a run and fuck his voice is annoying and he always goes on about fucking England.

ITV + Pundits aren't up themselves cunts. I can do with the commentary more so than BBC
- Pic quality, ad breaks

BBC is better but both have their share of cunts. It would be awesome if you could do a Dream Team of Pundits and Commentators for a tournament. I like Lawro, Hansen, Lineker and Shearer but Motson annoys me. If Barry Davies went back to the Beeb and Motty left that would be ace.

So why the fuck was John Motson calling the poor lad Gweeza and Geeza?

Has anybody else noticed on ITV's coverage, David Pleat has got nothing better to talk about than ex- Tottenham players.

Pleat is a prize A cunter, he droans on and on every game about absolutely nothing. Regularly fails to finish his sentences and just tails off with a murmur and his constant mispronounciation of player names is comical to say the least. Also he hasn't done it so much this tournament but did it all the time for the champions league, when the commentary gets handed to him as the game kicks-off he ALWAYS says "well, err good evening ladies and gentlemen". Fuck off Pleat you curb crawling scummer.

They're both shit.

In fact pretty much all coverage is wank now, because all the pundits are bland and thick and more or less every ex-player doesn't have the intelligence or sophistication to read the modern game without making crass benin observations that my grandma would make.

Alan Shearer is mindnumbing in the extreme has absolutely no original thought and contributes nothing at all to an already pointless waste of time prior to the game commencing. The pre-final montage for Euro2008, tournemant wankfest narated over by Adrian Chilles should have been immediately followed by kick-off, no pre game 'tactical analysis', no more; 'we've just about run out of superlatives to describe Spains '1 and 2 touch football' thats 'easy on the eye' 'but a bit like Arsenal at times "where they just want to walk it in" bollocks.

John Motson just sounds like a jibbering old fool now and he knows it and Mark 'Lawro' can't be bothered to pay attention properly so he constantly calls it wrong by being fooled by play acting, faneing and cheating that has evolved far beyond his skills of observation. As we all know cheating happens throughout the game now and although it is more blatent in other countries it has become a subtle artform over here.

Enough of the pre-tournament show, Just show the fucking line ups and kick-off. Then bring back Barry Davies
