The new Series started on Sunday. Good to see it back really. Anyone watch it? Man it was funny. Also i hear there is going to be another one of them races. I dont know the car but Richard and James are going to be in a Bullet Train, could be fun.
Can we not just drop the 'train' and just give 'em the bullet..?
The race is against the new Skyline.

Meh. Probably more fun than listening to a midget, a wannabe Clarkson & the fluffyheaded fat fuck himself.

To be fair, they're just having a laugh and it's a pleasure to watch since a lot of TV is quite serious. It's just perfect to relax, watch them mess around, crack some jokes and absolutely smash cars up in a funny manner.
When Clarkson put them spikes on his Police car, it was an accident waiting to happen.

Whatever floats your boat. I just remember the good old days when it used to be about cars, not just how fast a middle-aged twonk can go in the latest penis replacement mobile.

The only thing i dislike on Top Gear is the audience, a sniggering bunch of petrolheads who are quite happy to laugh at everything that is said and generally look like a bunch of wankers, i bet each and every one of them is utterly insufferable.

The slogans on Clarkson and Richards cars
Clarksons slogan "In Prison no-one can hear you scream"
Richard: "Dial 999 for details"
Mind you James' paint was funny used it thought he had him, but the stig used his wipers, and Jeremy using his spiked wheel on the BMW has hilarious

Hammond is the weak link in my opinion Clarkson and the director went to school together and May is a university chum; Hammond clearly isn't either of those so he tries ever so hard to be like Clarkson and it looks kind of embarrassing and awkward.
Anyway the show works for me as I couldn't really give a toss about car engines, just how they look, whether they go and if they have any cool gadgets and the rest of it is a bit of light hearted banter.

I caught James Mays first top gear episode on dave recently. pretty decent. His hair was under control then as well!
I like the cars they buy for a grand challenges. They are most amusing.

Agree
I like the show, though Clarkson sometimes gets on my nerves. I enjoy watching it, but if there's something else on I'd probably watch that.

The best one is where they drove to slough to the lap dancing club and none of them made it

James May & Richard Hammond to leave Top Gear?

Would be very disapointed to see May leave the show as LostGolactico says captain slow is a high point, his choice of car for the greatest ever iconic car was the Citeron DS which summed him up for me really.

Haha this show is really entertaining.
I just watched a giant tank chase down a Range Rover Sport.

Thats the Episode where Clarkson drives a Lotus Exige and trys to escape missile lock from a Apache helicopter gunship
I know its a bit late but did anyone think it was funny when Richard went to find a vending machine and walked straight onto another train:laugh:

to be honest I think it was a fix!
and how come they were just seconds apart?
I do like the challenges though but sometimes bits of them appear to be odd.
Well, the races are set up so that they'll be close, but a few minutes between each of them arriving is taking the piss. They're obviously scripted, but I guess it's more entertaining to the viewers that way.

I'd like to revise that. That special in Vietnam was particularly awesome as well as the special race-items they do like Portofino to St. Tropez.
Its a shame he isn't The Stig (and for those who wish to question me, the white-clothed version of The Stig has had different heights in different episodes).

That whole thing with Schumacher was cringeworthy.
Does anyone else agree that this programme is shit apart from when they do some sort of challenge? Anything in the studio always ends up being embarrassing.
And why do they always talk before the applause has stopped?

I thought the latest episode was rubbish. I like the challenges were they have 1k to buy a car and get set tasks. I enjoy watching the cars fall to pieces and driven within an inch of their life. Sometimes I think the trio think they are a bit special.
They shouldn't try so hard to be funny.

I'm just spark some life back into this thread since the new series has started.
That electric car they built was funny and the tests they also did was quite funny.
Yeah, loved last episode with Geoff the car. The tests part literally had me in stitches, and I think it helped that they were allowed to swear (past watershed), seemed a lot more relaxed and funny.
I might even watch the episode again soon to be honest.
"Loooook ouuuut."
They were in Boro a few days ago. Not sure when the episode airs, but I couldn't care less personally. I stopped watching it years ago.

I agree with what fick said on the first page, it used to be a car magazine show, now it's just abit too stupid sometimes.
I still like to watch it, but it just fucks me off how much of our license fee they spend on destroying perfectly good cars and lining the pockets of that racist, synical, fluffy haired wanker.

I like the challenges where they get 1k to spend on an ordinairy car.
And by the end the cars are just about dying. Watching them drive bangers is great!

I much prefer Top Gear now, then what it used to be if I'm honest. If I wanted to see a thorough in-depth car show with real helpful advice, I'd watch Fifth Gear, but I don't - I'd rather watch an entertaining and often very funny show on a relaxing Sunday night. I don't care about car details, how much information these experts can tell me, I just want to be able to laugh and enjoy the show for an hour.
I have to say, last episode was excellent. Can't wait for the next one this weekend. My only problem with Top Gear is that there is definitely not enough episodes, there only seems to be around 12 per year now or something strange like that.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, I do enjoy it from an all round entertainment point of view. They just waste alot of money. An independent broadcaster should buy the franchise. Then they can destroy loads of shit, and it would still probably make a profit.
It's just the fact that it's the beeb. It does my head in that I am FORCED to line Clarkson's pockets. The man is a tosser.
My favourite ever show was when whats his name raced the bullet train across Japan in that Mustang. Was a great show man.
I've always thought Top Gear should release season boxsets, would be excellent, I'd probably pick them up too providing they weren't "that" expensive.
