sorry to say this but ur all guna be let down wen the new pro comes out!!
ive been a massive fan from day one, of pro evo, played pro through out my life,
every weekend we have hours on fun on pro . . . yea right. . .
first of all on the xbox 360!! its a terrible game sorry to say it bt fifa looks better, ive never played fifia in my life, bt am slowly swinging that way,
if u select ranked match!! on xbox live, the game b4 u even start it deciedes weather or not ur guna win its aload of bollocks,. ive held this rant in for sumtime now, bt it just needs to cum out.
3 days ago . . (sunday6th june) pro evo rating (after a few lucky wins) my rating was on 6000-odd, now today (wednesday) its down to 3939 (mayb even lower coz i turnd it off with frustration) am sorry but tis the worst game ever made!!
u can be playin it an wen the other player plays a throught ball, u'll see ur player havin a fit/glitchin/spazzin out, wat eva u wnna call it, bt he jst wont get the ball its bullshit!!
i aint a shit player either if thats wat u guys/girls are thinking, i play in a way that only a chosen few can play,(if u mesage me i tell u more) cant be lettin my secrets out now can we hah, anyway if anyone agree's woth my rant let me knw, i'd like to know if its jst the way i play that makes the game fuk up or it happends to ya'lll
i also use my keeper cursor alot! an this is quiet funny,. . . i'll move my keeper infront of the player or even cut the angle of so the only place he's got is the tiniest of gaps
for the player to either get it in the gap . . . or save, . . . . an guess wat happens? he sky's it inot the roof of the net!! im-fukin-possible, or i'l move my keeper to left side of the goal coz i knw he's puttin it there, yet the keeper will do a silly fall to floor an ball goes 2inches off the floor yet goes over him!!! its so fuckin annoyin. . or . . . he dives in to the goal palmin the ball in bak of net aswell the WHOLE GAMES A FUKIN JOKE!! giv me one day with seabass . . oo o oo game over for him i tell ya . . . .

Never had problems with goalkeepers like you said. I too use my GK cursor a lot, and it really saves me. The problem with the through ball also didnt happen in my part. Never had problems with goalkeepers like you said. I too use my GK cursor a lot, and it really saves me. The problem with the through ball also didnt happen in my part. yea the keeper cursor saves me alot aswell, bt its just wen u can tell the game is on the opponents side the keeper does a silly save, like i already said earlier, the games a load of shite, i feel its 75%game favour on to 25% player!!

fifa looks great every year, but the gameplay is utterly hopeless year in, year out. That was the case until last year, where the gameplay was pretty decent. its just my opinion but i thought pes 2008 was a total mess of a game, the ballance of the gameplay was all wrong, and i think konami got too obsessed with presentation and graphics, and forgot they were making a football game. and i do not think the series has improved a great deal since pes 5. That said, konami know their ass is on the line this year, because fifa is catching up, and i think they know their franchise is under threat if they make another mess. I for one dont care which game does it, but whoever gets the gameplay near enough spot on, is the game i will buy. all i ask for every year is:
1. my team players to actually move when im attacking,
2. an AI that can score goals against me, and create chances,
3. a decent edit mode
4. to be able to create my own club(s)
5. full leagues and divisions for major europe nations and some minor
6. a decent variety of stadia
7. I want an AI that can keep posession and pass the ball propperly, and build attacks propperly
8. realistic transfer system and club budgets,
9. infinate season master league/ manager mode
who ever manages this be it fifa or pes, i will buy. simple.
tho i wud love it to be pes cos i bloody hate ea sports

Im telling you now 2008 was not crap or bad, no games actually are, it just wasnt as good as it should of been.
It was still a good game and there are plenty of fun moments when playing with my m8s

your full of shit.. if you were a fan youd like PES im a liverpool fan and i kno we aint won the league in 24 years but i will not budge on the fact were the most successfull english team in history and the best current..... you like fifa now because you feel different about it i kno and admit that konami has made mistakes over pes 6 - 2008, but i will stay with them over fifa.... because i feel they will rectify them selfs and understand what is good for the current gen consoles.... when the next batch of consoles come out i bet that people will say i love the last game of pes on the ps3/360 compared to this current console because of etc..... youve seen it with all consoles/tech, the best is saved till last because they finally understand then boom another form of tech is introduced...... just take GTA for example..

Ah yes, you will be referring to the godwful fucking pes god-mode whereby the AI decides to spice up the action by favouring one team for a period of time, for one half, or even sometimes for a whole game. This blatant cheating AI has been very apparent in the game ever since PES5, was at its worst in PES6, and is still very bad in PES2008.
I haven't read the rest of this thread but no doubt there are a whole host of fanboys claiming no such cheating AI exists and/or people claiming 'yes, but that is real footie' etc etc...
I have also been a huge PESfan since day one but feel that series peaked at PES3 at least in terms of gameplay balance, and that any gameplay improvements made since then have been hampered by newly introduced AI flaws, gameplay imbalances, and downright cheap AI. Needless to say I took my copy back to store for a refund and havent had one single game on it in over 8 months.

Whats more, instead of spending £40 on PES2008, or FIFA,you can now go down to GameStation or CashConverters and pick up a copy of PES3 for about £3.
Again, if FIFA's gameplay has been changed then they have started from 0. This is not the case. Trust me FIF'as gameplay will be the same like in 07 and 08. Maybe in 2014 FIFA will be a match for PES.
Well the title of this forum sums it up perfectly.
End of the day, mugs (like myself included) get excited about the release of the new PES Game release & every year something always manages to disappoint us.
I am not entirely interested in licenses and 100% perfect kits. That stuff is just a bonus if they do it for us. Providing they put a good editting engine within the next installment e.g(the proper templates for the nike, adidas, puma, umbro & diadora kits) then let us upload our own graphics onto the game to each individual teams kits (shirts, shorts & socks) then i'd be happy for another sound.
There is plenty you can do within the game, either it be Master League, cup or league tournaments or turn to the online mode (very overated might I add,I get more disappointed with the fact every person you play picks either Inter, UTD OR Barca over the lag - bores me to death)
That said, with the inclusion of the CL License this year, something will no doubt be thrown in to ruin it. Like you can only play with the licensed teams on the CL mode (if it is its own mode) or they will leave 1 of the licensed leagues out this year in order to free up fundsto incorporate the CL license.
Only thing left to say is don't be getin yaselfs too excited just yet, it will no doubt end up pissin us off as it does al the time.
When PES 2009 is out then we can tell what it is like etc.... OP Stop posting BS.

your a lil high strung eh "MATE" i was a bit drunk when i wrote that so yer i guess i jumped to conclusion...that said it pisses me off when people say i love pes and pes fan etc then go on to say how konami has let us down etc etc... i just say voice your opinion ofcourse but you cant change anything we just have to say what we feel and hope the next version is what we all want..... i dont share the same bad points as a few people in this forum on the game, but i have been pissed of with it sometimes....

That's also the kind of thing that really annoys me.. the predictable cutbacks that (for some reason) are impossible to stop. The Defensive Play needs more depth and substance -because- the advantage of an Attacker over a Defender is laughable.
Defenders are simply spectators watching how the opponent will score the next goal -Konami- needs to fix this flaw, it is extremely boring.

and about the goalkeeper thing, try playing football and see how easy it is to predict where somebody is going to shoot, let alone the henrys of the game, you say your know where they are going, bull, all you can do is guess in such a situation.the game does have problems but non of them you mention, if you had of talked about the lag online, the fact that the ref send you off for feck all or the fact that defending sucks on the game i would of been with you but the reasons you give im afraid i have never had anyproblems with sorry for the dickface insult but you make a point that is totally wrong

Yes the AI gets annoying some times -but- still, that happens a lot of times in real-life. Sometime everything goes your way -and- other times, things go against you. Sometimes I actually prefer it when everything is going the Computer's way because it makes a tougher challenge.
But anyways, if Konami manages to get the randomness OUT -then- it would be great. Because the annoying thing is that the computer randomly decides. But if Konami manages to introduce some kind of in-game Mentality gauge, or something to determine the Confidence Level of a team (and players) -then- I think that could solve that issue.
Because, that's an essential part of Football.. sometimes the little team wins over the big team because everything went their way -and- a lot of this haves to do with the INDIVIDUALS of the teams. Maybe some new feature such as an in-game Confidence gauge could determine each player's Mentality throughout the game.
Like for example, if your playing against Man Utd -and- you completely shut out Cristiano Ronaldo and Rooney -then- your team will gain in confidence and the momentum will be more on your side. I think that by doing something similar -Konami- could get rid of the randomness that fucks up the play (sometimes).

I don't agree with any of that, and the only two main issues I have with the game I don't believe you have mentioned. (Although your typing hardly makes it crystal clear what you're saying).
1 - Goalkeepers (not when you use the GK cursor, just in general. In fact usually the opposition keepers. They are basically completely and utterly useless. If they spilled more crosses, didn't get every one-on-one but held on to or at least kept out the majority of shots, they'd be highly realistic.
2 - Editing. Just look at the kit editor. It's feeble. But then FIFA doesn't have one does it?

yea the keeper cursor saves me alot aswell, bt its just wen u can tell the game is on the opponents side the keeper does a silly save, like i already said earlier, the games a load of shite, i feel its 75%game favour on to 25% player!!

I 100 % relate to what your saying! It is as if the Software of Pro Evo is programmed this way to make the player(me) win games on purpose or loose on purpose in order to affect results of the AI teams on the log.
It does happens that no matter how good or bad one is playing the result of some games depends on the log standings and also how many games are left in a season, thus makes some results prematurely fixed. Come on guys don't be PES fanboys admit it; Pro Evo game results can be very predictable!
PS. I will however not trade Pes for Fifa.

I haven't played PES08 on PS2 -but- I can assure you that the PS3 version is just as bad.
I think we deserve a "Complete Overhaul" for PES09 -because- Konami have kept this going for long enough; PES4, PES5, PES6, all the same exact games with some slight tweaks and team updates.
PES08 was actually a set-back, and for a PS3 game it was a laughable effort from Konami. I don't expect nothing less than (at least) a version of PES5 (or PES6) with good Graphics. I won't buy anything less.

Amateur, trust me, the gameplay of PES2008 on PS3 might be bad but the graphics is far better and am not somebody to complain about graphics but this is hideous, i cant believe it, it was like a nightmare playing it, when i woke up today, i was just hoping it was a pro evo nightmare and i couldnt even complete a match cause i was sooo annoyed at it. The game was used and i bought it for 18euro,, i just have to return it.
It was a total waste of my money, am sticking to my PES5 until i get a next gen console or maybe PES2009
And trust me with so many people in their company, it wont take much time to make transfers and tweak this shite

To be honest the PS2 version have better gameplay, better ball physics and position off the ball is better. But I must admit it is not an improvement after all. With less stadiums to play and graphics dont look that good.

you can usually guess where somebody is goin to shoot usin the keeper cursor. because people assume you aren't usin it, and shoot towards the best place to beat the keeper from that position.
from attacking yourself, you know where they're goin to go with their shot and you can have your keeper standin there to go "ta :)"
