i hope it's good commentary, but then again it is obviously going to be sh*t.
It will probably be the same commentators in pes 2008

commentators themselves are an improvement (John Champ and Mark Lawrenson)..but their script isn't good
The commentary is good, sometimes they say ridiculous things, but now with the ps3 i want more and more conversations.
I mute Pro Evo and put on my music during games - much better. The commentators are damned useless, and I expect commentators on all football games to be so for a while - it's only gonna be realistic when the commentators talk about such things as player form in the tournament (not just goals scored) or how often they play. Instead they just describe what's happening, which is all I expect, it'd take years of programming to get it to a realistic level.
Plus the music when you're not in a game is atrocious, so muting the game is the best step.

I heard it's going to be John Motson talking utter toott and getting excited when the 'star player' gets near the ball. To make it more realistic he's also going to be two seconds behind the game, chuckling a lot. He won't shut the f*ck up all the way through the game just firing out stat after useless stat even when you turn off the game he'll be there in that f*ckin' sheepskin coat with his bloody stats. F*CK OFF MOTSON.
P.S I have no idea who it's going to be, i just hate Motson and wanted rant

Get rid of Lawro and get in someone else. Anyone else. Lawro is the biggest head doer ever.
Commentary is okay, but it seems that I always hear the same things over and over again. That doesn't happen in FIFA, so I hope Konami fixes it. TBH, I miss the old commentators :(

I don't think it'd take years of programming at all, it just isn't considered something essential to the game's success. It is more of a frill, especially to Konami, so they concentrate on graphics and in recent years, AI and weather effects. They're just bigger selling points.
Decent commentary would be a bonus, nothing more.
It doesn't bother me how poor the commentary is (and let's face it, it generally is...and by generally I mean always) so long as the game plays well I'll be happy.

I hate the commentary, especially Mark Lawrenson so much i have been forced to mute the tv in the previous editions. Andy Gray and anybody else from Sky, barring Alan Smith of course, would be great but he works for FIFA.
I think it's fair to say it will be Lawrenson and whoever did last years with him again.
I wish Lawrenson would fuck off, he's a horrible little cunt rag is that one.

cheers for the rep
One example of Lawrenson's ignorance was a spanish game in the euro's
Torres gets subbed leaving villa up front on his own and nob end Lawrenson goes off on one spouting crap about how villa cant play up there and he was the one that should be subbed.....villa goes on to get a hat trick
The man and his bum buddy lineker are ignorant ballbags when it comes to anything other than the english game

Lawrenson has to go, does anyone else think that they are still using the same lines in commentary that they used for ISS pro on PS2?
time for a change

would be great to have Portuguese/Brazilian commentators , those guys go mental for a goal

they are never gonna be able to make the commentry like real life as they would have to guess every single outcome that could ever happen on the game, and then get them to talk about it in different ways
the commentry is always good for the first few weeks when its new an u hear things u havent heard before!

It will be same commentators as PES2008, as they aren't licensed technically speaking. They show live games on ITV & Sky Sports, who all have different commentators so it won't be an issue. The commentators aren't as good is Fifa, but it's far better than the early Pro Evo days...."The wind is rushing through the stadium" lol
how do u put the spanish commentators on??
Without changing the language?
