View Full Version : After PES2008, are you actually looking forward to PES2009?
Aiite brap brap!
Ha, that was funny!
Anyway. Usually i get pretty excited regarding the release of a new PES, but after the average 2008 version, im actually a little fearful.
One because i fear very little will have changed.
And two, because it will be sad to think that this was the series of games that produced fantastic, 10/10 games year on year :(
Just give me an updated PES6 with better graphics please :)

That would be excellent, an UPDATED version of PES6 with good Graphics. It is definitely NOT a lot to ask, and the PS3 can easily manage that.
However, a completely different thing would be releasing a version of PES6 with good Graphics -but- with no Updates or Improvements in any Aspect.
I'm not even excited for PES09.. I'm actually curious because I want to see what Konami have been doing for the past 2 years, wich could be either; absolutely nothing, or working on an Overhaul in every Aspect.
Either way, we'll get to see come October.
Tbf, it wouldnt suprise me if Konami released PES2009 as an identical game to PES 2008 with transfers updated, but slightly wrong, mabye Trabelsi at Arsenal lolz rofl lmao tbf, innit!
I like you Amateur, you are anything but amateur
I am looking forward to PES2009, cause to me PES2008 isnt horrible, its good to play, its not just comfortable and assuring.
Im starting to like this doyin guy. Mabye just cus he has that funny guy who appeared in the OC as his pic thingy! safe!
But you have a point, i still play PES2008 and can enjoy. It's just frustrating knowing it could be so much better!

The guy who is in my picture and also acted on the O.C. is Chris Brown(singer too).
And Thank you:D
I thought that was his name!
I also appreciate your enthusiasm for PES2009, keep the faith.

It wouldn't surprise me either as that would be very Konami-esque.. Hope that doesn't turns out to be the case.
Anyways, I guess most people get the same impression from "amateurs". Personally, I have great respect for what it stands for -and- that's mainly why I'm known as Amateur in the few forums I take part in.
By the way, I appreciate your point of view on PES09.. Optimistic -but- Realistic. I hope it proves (most of) us wrong.

to be honest i dont think it can get any worse than pes 2008, i mean pes 2008 is jus plain awful i hate that god damn game players ran around like fairys, defending was the most pathetic thing i've seen in a football game, edit mode was boring, online was a mess, the whole game was a just a mess. pes 2009 has got no choice but to be better than 2008
if i put pes 2009 in my ps3 n i see the same crap as last year, i will snap the disc and send it back to konami in giftwrap im not gonna put up with their crap any longer
I did enjoy Pes2008. I'd say because I never use english teams only for friendlies. I'm a Milan fan and the Serie A is liscenced, so in all I do look forward to the new PES.

If you are serious and if the games craps, may i see a picture you snapping the disc. ;)
The last few years I haven't considered FIFA, this year however, I dunno which I'm gonna pick up.
You from South/East London by any chance
DJ Clue, no I am not from South/East London, thats two threads youve asked in? :ninja:

Man you ppl really crap me up with comments like IM NOT GONNA UP WITH TIS CRAP ANYMORE......1 year konami messes up ( according to alot of you ) and you are already talking like they have been releasing horrible soccer games for ten years or more ( like EA ) shut the fuck up please.....IMO PES2008 was a freaking awesome game.....goals made a few mistakes and defense screws up at times and the online is horrible no doubt....but the rest is better then any other PES......but since u guys dont like this version stop crying like little bitches and acting like Konamis been releasing crappy soccer games for years
Pes 2008 was not bad. I actually liked it. I just hated the fact that strength and pace controlled the match. Now I'm really looking forward to pes 2009.
It was far from bad at all, or else I wouldn't have invested tens of hours into it, but I do think the gap between FIFA and PES is closing. A lot of it comes down to which game can remove the annoyances.

Im glad to see that some ppl at least know that pes2008 was not bad. And as far as gap between fifa and pes goes think of it this way....if pes had all the licensed stadium and teams like fifa would the gap be close? Its only b/c fifa has a agreement with FIFA that keeps that game even in competition with pes....in terms of gameplay gime a break man wth are u looking forward to fifa 09 for? i played EURO 2008 it was crap guys. PEs 2008 imo is a 9.5/10 game......gameplay is definitely a 9.8 to me. so please stop comp[laning if u dont like the game go buy fifa and dont tell us about how much u hate it.

Whatever, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I think (like it or not) that PES08 was a complete waist of Time.
Although I do agree with you in that FIFA is bad, and that FIFA09 is still FIFA -and- will play like FIFA.
Anyways, for me if PES09 is just as bad as PES08 -then- I really don't have any other alternative -as- I'm not even thinking of wasting my time on FIFA. I'm skeptical about PES09, but I hope it proves me wrong.
I hope it proves you wrong also. The gameplay is really what matters and I'm hoping for an awesome gameplay.
I'm another who didn't see PES 2008 as a complete disaster.
And even at 26 I'm dead excited about the release of PES 2009. No reason not to be tbh.

well 2 be honest, im gonna look forward to it regardless, the producers and creators of the game cant ignore everyones dissapointmoint for god sake, overall 2008 woz ok to play but i got bored because of the creation side of things, i love creating me own teams, but on 2008 it takes too long and i dont get exactly what i want in the end any way .
thats all i gotta say about that lol
I'm quietly optimistic. I don't think it's going to be the most perfect football game ever, but I think the return of decent editing will help a lot and that Konami (probably) have the sense to realise that tightening up defending a bit and making the goalkeepers into, well, something resembling a goalkeeper will do a lot to make the game more complete. Inevitably there'll be niggles here and there, but I find it hard to believe that any game is totally free of those. Ultimately, as shaun7 says, it's all about the gameplay, and Konami (in my experience) is in a different league to FIFA on that front. I also think that Konami (again probably) have the sense not to muck that part up - it's why people turn to PES, after all.
yes because this years was so bad therefore there should be a massive improvement so therefore i am more excited than ever, i will still be apprehensive about the game. All the news so far seems to be positive regarding the gameplay
Yes I am looking forward to it because I still think it will be better than Fifa although the gap is narrowing as others have pointed out.
Ezio
This is how I play fix on we10
I always play a few seasons normally, when I have won everything and go to player cam, the advantage of this is that the players that you have bought etc. have all improved so when you are playing fixed it is a better game.
My rules PS2 is the manager, so if I get subbed I watch the rest of the game (double speed of course) this also applies to injurys and tiredness.
Then you go to win everything as per..
I am currently 3rd in the league behind chelsea and man u, by 5 points with six games left, I have both league and champions league cup finals to play as well, its just nice aint it!
But where I would like to see this go part 1:
control of the cam, I would like to move it back slightly so I can see more of what is around
You start the game as a created player (16 yrs old) you play in reserve games or train until you are good enough for the first team (awarded score after game would sort this)
You play for your team, if you get sold you play for your new team, if you are good enough you get an international call up, and then you play in the WC, EC etc.
You only play when selected or fit, and the option to watch games or not
But where I would like to see this go part 2:
I would like to see this be the default for online play but beyond that the similar as above. you are a player and not a team, we all start with the same pool points to add to the default 50 so we can start with slightly diffrent skills, you stats improve with experience like the ML you start at sixteen and finish whenever but again like the ML you stats drop after a certain point.
You can be apart of as many teams as you like if reserves and friendlies can not be played (you might never play otherwise)
the option to watch games (other teams that is)
A league system, maybe with reserve teams
Moral rated on you last few performances, if you playing bad moral drops as it improves when playing well (again the player scores after games will sort this)
stats like positioning to be introduced, this would show how well you can play in your position, so if you a defender and spend more time up front then you would have a lower rating etc.
Tatic awareness this could be how could the player is at following the managers tactics.
Somebody would start the team and therefore be manager select tactics, players etc.
I guess you see where I am going with this, a virtual online football career, the aim of the manager is to win of course. maybe there could a be a virtual board (PS2) aswell so if the manager is not to hot he gets sacked and another from a list gets picked (could work with some thought)
So all the things that happen in real life could happen in the game.
Just a dream, but I remember when players did not that look like whom there was supposed to be and were all block figures that all looked a like, commentry, online playl multi leagues etc etc etc were all dreams too!
Looking at the bits of info given on PES09, I feel that the WE Fantasita mode will be extended to online play where you can use your players that you have created in games, as predicted a few years ago, so am I looking forward to PES2009, hell yeah!

Wouldn't you be looking forward for PES 2009 whether you liked the game or not?
