PES will ALWAYS be better. Put it this way, I bought PES2008 and thought it was the worst installment so far. I bought FIFA 08 and returned it because it never left the box more than once as it couldn't get in the disc tray because PES was in it.

How can you tell that Fifa 09 is better than any PES game. You havent played Fifa 09, so how you know how good the game is guna be. I was really Dissapointed at PES 2008 when i first played it. Tryed out Fifa and i thought WTF, this is shit. I am still playing PES 2008 now even with its many flaws and that really shows how much i dislike Fifa and i agree with many people, PES 2008 has alot wrong with it. However Fifa just aint my Game. Fifa 08 Gameplay didnt flow as much as PES 6 and that really takes the fun outta the game for me.

I PLAY SEMI PRO soccer ( football ) so i know what football is like....we do not score many times in 4's or 5's. Our most come on scores are about 1 to 2 goals...and in FIFA its 5 to 6 ( when I play and yes its on the SECOND highest difficulty )....in real life its between 1 to 2 goals....so which is more real?

Also fifa is sloooooow as fuck....I know when I play I dont run on rails and when i want to pass i passs IMMEDIATELY...cant say the same about fifa.

PES is more tactical and intricate with mroe skill involved in the gameplay. i played Fifa once and its so easy to just sprint across the whole pitch, even though PES maybe didn't live up to some people's expectations in PES2008, Pro Evo will always be better. PES is for REAL football Gamers whereas Fifa is if you just wanna kick about with your friends, simple as.

Fifa 07 you could sprint past everyone but i've played Fifa 08 with my mates too. You get sent off way too easy, the camera angles are shocking and the ablity for you to pick up the ball and skin every in their team is just silly.
PES may lack in leagues and team names etc, but the gameplay for PES has always been better. Sorry mate, thats just the way i feel. Plus, the guide you get for PES2008 is the best guide i have ever seen, interviews with Seabass and stuff behind the game as well as a fantastic video with commentary which is SOOOOOO helpful for ANY PES player. The guy commentating on it was great as well. I just seems as if all Fifa can boast is looking great with a few unique but negligable features. Sure PES may not be as aesthetically brilliant but as the back cover says,
"If Football is Your Life, Then PES (2008) is Your Game."

And those quotes are taken from the 2008 reviews which most people agree isn't very good at all, however I still think the PREVIOUS PES games gameplay is far better simulation games. Yes, FIFA got the graphics and license, but not the "feel", realism and simulation.

And no, I am not a FIFA fan, i am not a PES fan either, I am just someone who doesn't read into all the hype made from each camp. When the games are released I will buy them both as always and make my decision from there.
