Hulkamaphone's PES5 Option File 2008-09 Season.

Okay guys, I know the transfer window is still open, (so this file will probably be updated when it closes) but since there are no new-ish option files available right now for PES5, I thought I'd upload the one that I've been using recently.

Please note: This option file is based heavily on ISS72's option file, which is based on j708's, which is based on Watson's. So huge huge credit goes to Watson, j708, and ISS72 for all their hard work!!

Most transfers up to date as of August 25th (based on soccerlens.com), however some smaller teams have been left un-edited (Stoke, Hull and WBA still have the old relegated team line-ups). I tried to update the International teams for EURO 2008, based on the website and magazine team lineups, however some players (from the smaller nations) where not in the game, so there may be some small gaps in the teams.

A lot of player stats have been updated, so again, huge thanks goes to Vitumbiko and wan109 for their player stats threads which I used to update this file. The top players should more accurately reflect their skills now, and some of the younger players have had stat adjustments to reflect their improvements.

That’s about it really…. As I said, this file is not 100% complete, however it may tie some people over (like me) until ISS72, or j708 make a more complete PES5 OF for the 2008-09 season.

Great Option file. The updated stats are awesome. I noticed a couple transfer mistakes, but everything else is fine. Some of the national teams, though, still have world cup rosters, like netherlands and turkey.

Thanks Futsal, if you (or anyone else that notices) want to list the transfer errors I can fix them up and repost. Like I said, some teams have not been updated for a long time so there will be errors.

I don't know if you are planning to create missing players, but there is at least Berat Sadik missing from Arminia Bielefeld. Great work by the way!

Will there be a PS2 PAL/Europe version for max-drive?

I'm not sure how to convert this OF to max drive (the PS2 OF I have made is X-Port). I converted all the files using the Pesfan editor, and for some reason it doesnt register any max drive files. This is basically my first OF so Im not totally sure how to do all of that stuff.

If anyone knows how to convert to max drive feel free to let me know!!

I am trying to update the kits and badges/logos soon, at the moment time is quite limited as my partner and I have just had our first baby, so as you can imagine, its quite hard to edit those sorts of things.

If you could let me know which kits have changed (I know liverpool and aston villa have changed so far) and I will try to get them updated soon.

ive searched high and low for a ps3 .psv option file for pes5 an cannot find one! does anyone have the means to convert this one to a ps3 compatible option file? pleeeeeeeez

Hi Lennon,

You need to transfer the .xsc file into the PES folder. From memory it is:

e:/UDATA/4b4e030 (or something similar)

Then there should be a folder that starts with the number "5"

Replace the .xsv file with the new one and it should work.

Remeber to back up your old OF in case things go wrong!!!

I'm trying to do a bit of editing myself ... how do you edit team names? I would like to replace some of the clubs and countries. I have PESFan Editor but it seems like it's only good for moving players around ...

To edit the team names just click on the "team" tab, click on the team you want, then type in the new name (make sure you press "enter" before you click anywhere else so it saves the change!)

You can edit the countries lineups and tactis in the editor but you will have to do the other editing in game.

I don't know of anything that can convert a PES6 OF to a PES5 OF (without doing it all manually of course!)

I have been busy updating the stats for some players, and managing the new transfers (Ronaldo released by AC Milan, Robihno to Man City etc) and I have been tweaking the promoted teams as well (Hull, Stoke, WBA), so hopefully a new OF release isn't to far off... Hopefully mid next week. Oh and most of the Prem league kits are now pretty accurate including new shirt sponsors.

I've used PS2 Save Builder to change the file ID (NTSC -> PAL) and then converted it into a MAX file, but during PS2 booting up, the option file loads into memory and then it hangs with a black screen.
This is about as much as my two brain cells can cope with!

Hi mate, not sure exactly what version my file is, but the Australian format is PAL, same as UK.

Im not real good with converting the files over so if anyone could help that would be great.

Just an update to everyone who is interested, I should be releasing the new OF by the end of this week with the updated kits and last minute transfer deadline transfers. Just a quick note though, I have concentrated on the Prem League, so the other leagues will not have the promoted teams, new kits ect. Having said that, I have done a bit of transfers from the other leagues, so the teams should be fairly accurate.
