Before you have a go at me. I'm not here to put down pro evo in any way. I'm here just to show you what fifa have been doing. I hear too often pro fans saying fifa don't care about what players think. But they do. This video outlines the changes they have made to improve the game. All footage is in game footage. I want your honest opinion having watched this video. Are you impressed? Will you maybe give fifa 09 a thought?

Grudgingly impressive. Not because it may be better then pro but because I don't play games enough these days to actually benefit from that Adidas live. I wish I was 14 again.
To be honest it looks impressive but so did 08 and Euro 2008 and both of them sucked balls.

Very impressed. Will be buying both games this year, assuming Pro Evo turns out to be much better than last year, which i am sure it will do. Not sure on that live form thing tho. Good idea on paper, but i'd rather decide the form of my controlled players by the way i played the previous game, rather than someone else do it for me online. Sounds like it's too far out of your control. The league i will be playing will be a fantasy league on my PS3/360 so i don't see how real life form should be able to affect my computer players. BUT, that said, he does say that it's a service that you pay for if you want it, so at least it's optional rather than forced upon you. Interesting addition, in my humble opinion, but the other things interested me more. And that gameplay footage always impresses me :)
Hopefully it'll be nice to have 2 options when it comes to football games this year. I only wish some other companies would jump in the fray ( FOOTBALL KINGDOM! ). I remember the PS1 / 2 days when there were 9 or 10 different footy games to choose from, lol, ok admittedly most were complete tosh ( Goal Goal GOAL GOALSTORRRMMMmmmm!!! anyone? ) but i assume it's that competition that kept the two big ones introducing new stuff. Fair play to EA for really going for it, for once, this year. I only wish that damn PES Master League would get a boot up the arse!

Didn't the video say "a free trial to all users throughout the 2008/09 season," so basically up until May 2009, which is good enough I think.
All looks good in that video. I too am impressed. I REALLY don't want to get to high on Fifa though, because I don't really want to buy PES AND Fifa this year.
Last year I bought PES for PS3 and Fifa for both PS2 and PS3, because after I bought the PS2 version, I bought a PS3 so decided to get it for that as well. :/
I'm gonna get both like I used to do since fifa 06. I did't like 06 and 07 but 08 was better.
well honestly after that video i can see EA is going for the kill and ain't taking no prisonors so hopefully KONAMI brings out the big guns because they are going to need it.
but then again PES is always been about the gameplay while FIFA has alot of added bonuses for lack off gameplay. i'm just hoping the gameplay still proves to be enough this year because after watching alot of videos from both, most of them are in FIFA's favor the only one that gives me high hopes is the one with the interview with SEABASS.

I think we are the winners, they BOTH look like very good games this time, after pes 2008 totally let me down, i have played more FIFA this year than i normally would, hopefully this years i will be playing both equally.

^They're both good. I'm really gonna enjoy both this year. Well I hope so.
I like the idea but i feel the weekly updates are a bit extreme, i think monthly updates would be better because if i played fifa online (which i don't) it would be a pain in the ass if fabregas was playing sh*t because he had 1 bad game last weekend, i could understand it if he'd had 3 or 4 consecutive bad games.
However i would like to see Pes09 introduce some form of update for players stats throughout the season.

I still didn't see any shirt tugging in that video, and don't say that PES should take that out, cos in all the replays of the weekends games players had a handful of shirt in almost every tackle. I'm amazed at the way people are praising Fifa for copying PES's game play elements from 4-6 and saying they've caught up, be real people, you just like the shine. I for one still prefer Sensi Soccer to Fifa and me and my mates have never had late night sessions of Fifa playing, it was always PES.

Well consider I've been a member of this forum for a good long while, made quite a number of meaningful posts where as you just seem to be a member who wishes to antogonise and plug Fifa all the time, I'd say I have every right to ask a MOD to intervene. Unless of course you please mention something with even a hint of logic to it. Give me a good point of debate and i'll gladly indulge you.

Fifa did not copy anything. I've not seen any outside of the foot shots in PES.
Ive not seen curled passes.
Ive not seen the type of collision animations seen in fifa 09 in any pes games.

To be fair there are most of those 'imporvements' in pes already, jostling and outside of the foot are both there, but its these things that seprate pes from fifa. . . all the time fifa keep adding these little things to tweak gameplay and improve the game then pes need to worry a little more. . .i resent the fact i play more fifa 08 than pes08 cos i have always hated fifa. . .but looking at that and what ive seen of pes this yr i think ill be buying fifa aswell as pes yet again!

Yeah then they have a go at established members of the forum and folk like me who have played PES and Fifa probs much more than them, I just lost interest in FIFA when I reached a certain age. I'm not adversed to buying it if i can get it cheap but i'd make sure I had both. As I've said before, this is a PES forum, specifically designed for PES fans, not FIFA Fanboys.

I'm impressed by the improvements. It looks like FIFA 09 will be the closest to PES's gameplay. I'll try out the demo when it comes out. It'll be the first time I've played the game in years.

Why are PES so reluctant to show more gameplay. Ive only seen half a dozen videos showing average gameplay and graphics.
In fact, how can you say pes 09 is a good game when the most recent one pes 08 was so bad, ie. reviewers rated fifa 08 better.

Games reviewers can be biased and can just give a game higher rating than really it should get.
Eg. Gta Iv got straight 10's all over the net when really it wasn't worthy of a 10/10 once you played it for a while..

when u improve ur game like FIFA did, ofcourse u will get good reviews but that does not mean u beat PES.

as far as gameplay, I tried playing fifa, it felt like the players were on rails... just seemed too light and fluffy... but I have my opinion, and you obviously like sucking fifacock...

Gameplay it's an opinion but graphics? Everone can see the detail and it's obvious that Pes has much betterlooking players but Fifa has better stadiums and lighting effects. I'm not talking about Fifa and pes 09. Im'talking about the 08 versions.

all of us have yet to play FIFA09 and PES09 so keep ur fingers crossed and maybe come october we will tell u that u were right but i doubt that because EA always screws up the gameplay( the most importent part of a game).
think about it, the biggest problem with FIFA08 was the responsiveness, so tell me how can u say it was better if the game couldn't keep up with ur thinking.
how can it play well while it responds bad.
PES fans think fast because like real football our game expects us to make quick decissions because if u don't the opportunity is gone and we like it like that.
that's why a goal scored on a PES game means so much more than a goal scored in a FIFA game.
so when FIFA can give us that, then don't worry u won't have to convince us we will tell u ok.

GTA IV is better than these game because it had the most improvements out of all game and made the biggest next gen step and it still got negative comments. It even recieved a 10/10 from IGN and still it got some negative comments. It's not always that the game will deserve it. It's because of fanboys.

well let me tell u this and i guess i'm not alone when it comes to this :I DUMPED ALOT OF BEAUTIFULL GIRLS WHO WEAR DESIGNER CLOTHES because when i got to know them they lacked the class and perfect gameplay i was searching for and that's what FIFA is a beautifull girl who wears designer clothes with no class and gameplay if u know what i mean.
but most PES fans became fans because they played the game and enjoyed it so they stuck to it.
listen to the wise words from them, don't judge the game untill you've played the game and those words mostly come from PES fans.

but NO, you FIFA fans see a few videos and hear a few new feautures and ur won.

Wow, can really tell a lot from videos without gettin hands on.... I remember them saying the same thing about Fifa 06. Wow it's amazing, so many improvements, can save replays etc and it was shit. I don't pass judgments about a game until I have played it for a while once purchased, or at a friends house. Wait till it's out before jamming all the facts down our throat, we can all make our minds up then, instead of blindly believing what developers say as EA developers moto is... dumb it down as much as you can so it appeals to everyone. You can't really do that with a football game though, it has to appeal to football fans first and foremost. So if EA have listened to the fans this year then fair play to them, but I for one would prefer waiting till both games are out.

marketing my friend isn't that holy and honest as you may think and EA is a big company so i don't believe annyone because everyone can be bought or have u forgotten IGN's review of PES last year. they said it was great and don't get me wrong here it's a good game and i think with all it's flaws it still is better then FIFA08 but it isn't great.
also last year mostly because of u guys on this site i bought FIFA08 because of all the great reviews most of u and alot of gamesites were giving it and it still bothers me that i believed the hype and wasted my money.
that's why i'm very happy that my PS3 gives me the option to play games first before buying because marketing my friend is big business, bigger then u think.
another example is GTAIV that is also a good game but great it ain't and it doesn't deserve a 10.
so convincing me will take more then videos, features,licenses and pictures from well known stadiums.
if u are that easily sold then that is too bad.;)

lmao end of the day. Fifa has stolen Pes gameplay for years. Fifa has nothing else left to steal, like the whole powerbar etc. I used to be a fifa man until i was introduced to the genius of Pes
I'm not worried at all. Fifa ALWAYS looks the best because it has proper strips, stadiums, leagues etc but there is just one thing missing, and that is Pro's gameplay :)
New pro will be Best out if its 100% lag free

fifa just done a great kits for EPL only...
maybe their staff love EPL....(d fastest football league in the world???).
if u preview fifa edit mode, just pick other league than EPL..
u may find..what a lazy back number design/shape...all look same..not relevant to kits brands....just bullshit!!!
Well EPL is really preferred by EA. They even have 4 divisions while serie A has only 2. That's unfair because serie A is just as much as good as EPL.
