My router is Linksys Wireless-G with model No. WRT54G v2.2

It doesn't send wireless signal anymore -- when I searched for available wireless network list, it doesn't show up. To make sure that it isn't my Wireless LAN USB Adaptor, my PS3 also doesn't pick up any signal.

I've already switched the power supply and reset it, but nothing works. And, my modem works fine.

Any help?

And how are you on the Internet then, if your router doesn't transmit any signals? :erm:

Maybe a power surge? lightning from a power storm got something out of it ?

And you can't keep it like this, from now on??

he needs the router to connect both his computer and his ps3...right ?

Don't think so. There was no lightning and storm last night and today. My router worked fine 1 hour ago.

RB14, whether he can or not it isn't working as it should and he'd like to get to the bottom of why.

meecrob, if you have upgraded the firmware you should be able to change the transmit power of the router. Whilst you shouldn't need to fiddle with that setting, just see if it makes any difference while also unfortunately going down the generic route of ensuring the antennae are both still connected properly as silly as that would sound. This isn't something I've ever come across previously - as I'm sure you can tell.

I've never downloaded any firmware since I bought it in 2004. Also, my computer and the router is in my room so, signal strength should be 100%

If this means anything, the green LED on the power is blinking.

Also, here is what it came up with when I googled it: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Linksys+Wireless-G+WRT54G+v2.2+firmware&meta=

Intermittent power failure? Wireless security problem? Firmware issue?

Sweey to the rescue!

The flashing green light is the problem after all. I downloaded the firmware and the router is now back to normal service.

Grazie.

Another problem. Why do I have to reset the router every time I turn it on? If I didn't reset it, there's no internet access.

You mean a hard reset? That would suggest...well I'm not entirely sure what it would suggest to be honest. It isn't remembering its settings I suppose though a hard reset would perhaps suffer from the same issue.

How long has that been happening?

Yeah, a hard reset. This starts to happen today. I also got the same result when I set up a WEP key - I've already tried disconnect and reconnect.

Has to be related to the firmware you've upgraded to.
