For me, when people think of Bruce Springsteen, they automatically think of songs like Born In The USA and Dancing In the Dark. Personally those are the 2 least songs i listen to of his now, dont get me wrong, excellent songs but the songs that should be thought of automatically for the Boss, should be
Downbound Train. Brilliant Disguise & One Step Up
As for U2. The 3 songs i think are forgotten about are Staring At The Sun, Heartland & An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart.
so if theres anyone who likes the Boss and U2 but haven't really listened to all their stuff etc, i recommend those songs
Ive seen Bruce and U2 Live thankfully, i consider myself a big fan and thought i would share my views.

probably not your cup of tea
but from The Game's Documentary album I really liked Start From Scratch but it was never released as a single, also I liked Kanye West's; Family Business & Last Call.

From that album , Like Father Like Son would've deserved being a single IMO.

Great song, Deftones covered that I think?
Tool is the closest thing to being a favorite artist for me and Intolerance from Undertow would be a fitting answer. I would also consider Born to Hula by Queens of the Stone Age.

Yeah they did, massacred it I heard.
You're about spot on with Tool too.
Bloc Party - Halo

Yeah, I like that song; one of my favourites in the entire album.
I also think Mercury is excellent. Is that under-rated?
I don't really have one single favorite band, but the closest thing is Led Zeppelin and their most underrated is probably Traveling Riverside Blues.

Avenged Sevenfold - Darkness Surrounding.

Believe by Savatage. Every time I listen to this, I feel like crying. :|
The band itself is vastly underrated. :\
Edit: When the Crowds are Gone and Morphine Child as well?

As far as U2 goes I think Bullet The Blue Sky is their most underrated.

I can't stand u2 :(
I can't stand u2 :(
Their early work, is what makes them good. Joshua Tree, War...that was good. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was shocking. And of course Bono, who can still stand the cunt?

yeah fair enough, it has been the last 15-20 years of Bono that's really made me hate them, and their sort of "wussy" stadium music does me right in.
Can be said about most bands on Earth today, their earlier stuff is always better. Prime examples: RHCP, Foo Fighters, Muse, COLDPLAY (u2 wannabes).......
My favourite track by U2 is Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, and it's pretty different to most of their songs.

That's the Batman Forever theme song right?
That was a great tune. The video was pretty cool too if I remember rightly, shame the film wasn't that good. Although I loved it when it first came out, I was a kid, but I've watched it recently :fplm:

Same here.

The Police - Secret Journey
one of my favourites now. Great shout ! merci
U2 are one of the biggest bands in the world and will always be remembered. I mind reading about Sting handing Bono his guitar n naming them as the new best band of the 80's:P

U2, best band of the eighties?
Don't you know R.E.M or The Pixies or Iron Maiden?

Read what he said, you imbecile.
Coming from Sting (separate from The Police) we must remember that he's never had any thing of use to say.

Muse - Easily, Map of the Problematique
Ride - Twisterella
Easily is good enough to have made it to an album, I think.

Muse - Easily, Map of the Problematique.
Who exactly under-rates that?
I.N Extasy
12-10-2008, 17:44
I don't know anyone who actually overrates them.
Guns N' Roses - Estranged
Edit: @ CaptainCabinet: I also like the songs, especially the former, which I think is good enough to have made an album.
To be fair, lots most love Super Massive Black Hole, which I don't think was particularly great, despite it and Starlight were what helped the most in sales for Black Holes and Revelations. I for one, prefer Map of the Problematique, which is undeniably underrated in contrast to Super Massive Black Hole.
Just out of interest, do you know or have ever listened to Ride and Savatage?

Incubus - Are You In?
Really? I can't really say I'm too familiar with their other work, but I was under the impression this was their most popular song. I like it a lot.

yeah...the stuff of Morning View didnt get the same hype/radio play as Make yourself stuff.
Good thread, since i love Incubus
The warmth

Just a phase
Under my umbrella
Mexico
Morning View is outstanding as an album though one of those bands if more people actually gave them a listen they would have been even bigger than they are.
Adam and the Ants - Cartrouble, Kings of the wild frontier(this was released as a single didn't make the top 10 but these days songs like this would never be a single i'm surprised it even got a single release back then amazing song)
Adam Ant - Wonderful
Which was a single but nobody would remember it as it was released in 95 past his heyday

The Killers - Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
Can't say they're one of my favourite artists, I liked the 1st album but not the subsequent ones, but still.
Oasis - The Masterplan
One of their B-sides.
The Beatles - Helter Skelter (I think it's fair to say that it's not as popular as a huge majority of their early music, and even songs that were on the same album, such as Back in the USSR, Dear Prudance, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Roccy Racoon and Birthday)
There's so many, though. This one just sticks out for me.

When people say Sibelius, they usually talk about the symphonies, Finlandia, or The Swan of Tuonela. But En Saga should definitely be one of his most popular compositions if it were down to greatness.
