Yes.
It is the Japanese version of the PS2 game which is easier to edit.

Actually very few of us are actually editing the game ourselves.
Most are just using other people's work like patches.

the WE:FE is the best game to edit! But I think it's very hard to do so...

Is it possible to use these patches on WE6:I?

Zygalski

I think the patches would have to be made for WE6:I and I don't think there are any out there.
I may be wrong though.

Ah, that's fine, guess I'll just buy a copy of FE soon.

WE7 is out in August.
Some would wait for that.
Some wouldn't.

It's up to each person.

If you do get, you will enjoy it a lot for a few months (if you don't have problems with editing that is).
But I'm sure you'll find plenty of help with patching on here.

Zygalski, you are right about WE6I patches. As WE6I shares the PES2 structure and format, and DVD base...

Zygalski

So if there was a patch made for PES2, would it work for WE6:I?

mikeom1

Probably, I haven't seen my differences between the 2.

Isn't there anyone out there who could produce a patch for PES2 - Please.

kochman

no, the patches for PES2 would not work with WE6:I....WE is a port of PES, yes, but the serial numbers in different parts of the game code are completely different....it's the same reason why X-port files for PES2 don't work with WE6:I

is there patches for pes2?

Zygalski

Not yet.
And probably won't be.

Just open it up in hex editor and edit where appropriate, so providing you made a patch in the right way it would work. Just like making alterations when burning we6i to cdr, some key numbers do need changing. Player wise I will admit I don't know, graphic wise you could replace them simply in PES2 and have it work with WE6I, so that kind of patching would be alright.

Oh, we are very patient. You cannot use the X-Port to apply patches, with the X-Port you can only transfer files from the Memory Card to your PC and vice versa. So you can use your PC as a huge Memory Card. To apply patches you need to download the patch, apply it to a clean image of WE6FE, then burn it on a CD, and when you have a PS2 with a chip, Slide-Card or Flip Top Lid you can play your patched version of the game. There are no patches for PES2, only for WE6FE. With an X-Port you can use option files, eg from codejunkies (http://www.codejunkies.com)

SO if i was to buy an x-port....

Are there places online to download option files where people have done things like changed all kits and flags for you, and say, changed all teams to english teams for example, and changed all player models for you? Save me doing all the work basically.

I was wondering whether you need an NTSC compatible television once you have a patched version of WE6:FE, as it seems to come out black and white.

Getting a decent scart cable will nearly always solve the problem.

The one from
http://www.thebarras.co.uk/shop.htm
Definitely works.

"The scart cable is the most popular accessory for the Playstation / PS2. It gives a much better quality of TV picture over the original supplied lead. It is essential if you are playing import games. Import will run in black or white or even worse without one of these. Can only be used if your TV has a scart socket. Suitable for any Playstation or PS2. Latest version has switch for DVD Films / Games"

£6 is a good price.

Can it be any old scart cable as I have seen a gold plated scart for £5 from Play.com. Will this solve the problem?

It should do the job.
The description on their site should let you know.
Good luck with it I guess.

Cheers mate. I am about to get a PC, mainly because I want to patch WE6:FE. I will then get the flip top lid and boot disks, but as WE6:FE patched goes onto a CDR, will this work with this flip top lid.

Zygalski
08-07-2003, 11:21
No worries.
With a flip top lid is how most people here are playing it now so it should be fine.

I'd recommend you make sure you get a CD burner with your PC and if you can afford it, possibly a DVD burner too.

EDIT - Go buy we6fe

Do you own an import shop or are you looking for a warning? or maybe a bit of piracy ;)
