Father Ted should've been in the top ten! Vicar of Dibley! Porridge! Dad's Army! Don't make me laugh! (literally) It's got to be Only Fools and Horses for consistency alone.

Marshy
29-01-2004, 17:25
dad's army and porridge are quality but vicar of dibley should'nt be there.
But I think that Father Ted didn't get there because its not on BBC where as the Top Ten are!!

Fawlty Towers for sure. Its the only one that always makes me laugh everytime. Only fools and horses a close second.

What about 'The Office' ? What about 'Little Britain'? Two great comedy programmes that make me piss myself every time I watch 'em. Pure brilliance!

Gary G
30-01-2004, 19:31
The Office was number 25 or sumthing, Little Britain is a sketch show thats why it ain't in here.

Flipper the Priest
31-01-2004, 01:02
The Office did pretty well considering it was only 1 1/2 old when the countdown was compiled.

I'd go for Blackadder. The second series was the best.

ChelseaDave

Hunter
13-02-2004, 16:28
i votedfor only fools and horses since it is the best there, but i really think you should have put in Alan Partridge because it is hilarious and the main character Steve Coogan got a big award for the programme.

Out of the ones on there I'd say Only Fools and Horses, it's not really to my taste but still quite watchable.

Don't know if anyone realised but full tim ehas been blown on the BBC vote.

Only Fools and Horses took the gold but perhaps surprisingly Blackadder was second and the awful, awful Vicar of Dibley third.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: democracy, doesn't work.

Marshy
31-03-2004, 01:36
Fawlty towers came 5th which is stupid because dibley is absolutly shit!!

ChelseaDave
31-03-2004, 03:19
i wanted blackadder to win out of the two, its the only one that doesnt get repeated millions of times each year. Saying that though, fools & horses is quality

Mambo
31-03-2004, 03:36
Never liked Only Fools and Horses ( ). Fawlty Towers and Blackadder for me. Disgraceful that Fawlty was so low down

Travis Bickle
31-03-2004, 04:06
Its gotta be Porridge.

Dad's Army
Yes Minister
One Foot In The Grave
The Good Life

Have all got too many old people in them.

Fawlty Towers is a farce more than a situation comedy

The Vicar Of Dibley is more of a shitcom.

Blackadder the only good series was 'goes forth'.

Only Fools And Horses

31-03-2004, 15:07
SHIT, i voted for Dad's Army, i didnt see Only Fools and Horses

MikeyM
02-04-2004, 03:15
porridge, only fools, one foot in the grave, fawlty towers and blackadder are all very good. ive gone for porridge cus it of the phrase, 'Nerk'!!!!! :D :D :D

Yep, the only thing better than that was when Fletcher described Ives as a "despicable nefarious little nerk" :D .

Porridge is an absolute classic, Only Fools is a close second, though it laboured a bit towards the end. The BBC always seem to make one series too many (like Red Dwarf VIII )

Mike.

Only Fools easily, but Phoenix Nights shudda been on ther and Father Ted

Flipper the Priest
04-04-2004, 04:50
Father Ted makes me piss myself just thinking about it.

Gary G
04-04-2004, 05:59
Father Ted is absolute quality, what are your favourite episodes?

Mine are

Hell This is when Ted, Dougal and Jack go on holiday to a carvan park and have severalrun-ins with a young couple

Think Fast Father Ted When the roof of the parochial house leaks Father Ted organises a raffle to win a car, Ted rigs the raffle so Dougal wins but Jack crashes the car. The roof doesn't get repaired

Are You Right There, Father Ted? Ted finally gets away from Craggy Island but after a misunderstanding about expenses Ted is sent back to Craggy Island. To make things worse Ted is then mistaken for a racist and is forced to organise a celebration of chinese culture to prove he isn't a racist

carol vauderman the bitch turned it into a men v women vote she never spoke abt the programme jus saying vicar of dibley was the only female character in the top 10 so all the split arses started voting for that, vic of dib above porridge no way!! father ted shud have been 3rd! the reason it wasntr cos it wasnt from the bbc

Monkeylover
08-04-2004, 17:37
vicar of dibley was only there because Father Ted is on channel 4.
Father Ted is way better, Dibley is wank

tomo1811
08-04-2004, 17:54
dibley aint wank! but f-ted is so much funnier it wud have made it in the top 5 easy

Gary G
08-04-2004, 21:40
father ted shud have been 3rd! the reason it wasntr cos it wasnt from the bbc

I agree with that, it was a bit of a con that all the top 10 were BBC sitcoms, Father Ted should definitely have been top 5 at least.

Vicar Of Dibley is ok sometimes but doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top 10

Marshy
08-04-2004, 23:21
The vicar of dibley, yes minister and the good life should have been replaced with phoenix nights, the office and father ted with father ted coming tenth!!!

ChelseaDave
09-04-2004, 05:27
i think the vicar of dibley is pure shite. its not funny at all imo. Father Ted is soooo much better in terms of being a sitcom & aswell as being one based on the church. damn father ted is hilarious!

tomo1811
09-04-2004, 16:37

i totally agree, i think for it to been taken seriously to been done on a neutral channel i.e itv or sky1

Monkeylover
10-04-2004, 17:27
father ted is quality, like one of the worser episodes was on the other day, the europen song contest one, but even that was funny.

Dougal: i'm just excited about the eurovision contest, what time is it Ted?
Ted: half one
Dougal: and when does the contest start?
Ted: May

Monkeylover
10-04-2004, 17:28
only 1 character is remotley funny in the vicar of dibley and thats alice, though its only her reactions to what is said thats funny

You have got to be joking, that's probably my favourite episode. I've watched it about over 20 times and it gets funnier every time. Father TEd should have been in the top 10 at least.

Best three sitcoms - Blackadder
Father Ted
Only fools and Horses

my favourite episode of ted is either kicking bishop brennan up the arse or when dougal converts the bishop into a hippy

Blackadder and OFAT.
The classic chandelier and falling through the bar scenes are hilarious no matter how often you see them.
And yes, The Office should definitely be on there for ground-breaking and brilliant humour (if a little cringe-making at times). Dance for me, Brentmeister.

Never really watched Father Ted but I don't know why cos the bits I have seen were brilliant. Saw a bit of an episode where 3 bishops go to the house to check up on them and Dougal convinces one of them that God doesn't exist. Doesn't particularly sound funny but the whole episode itself was brilliant.
