Just wondering if anyone knows who is the best player(s) for each poistion in PES 2009 stat wise. This is from there original stats, not in BAL or ML.

I'll start it off to what I think is right, but maybe some people can add to it.

GK - Buffon, Julio Cesar, Cech
CB - R.Ferdinhand, Nesta, Puyol
SB - Sergio Ramos, Ashley Cole, Roberto Carlos
DMF - Mascherano, Essien
AMF - Kaka, Gerrard
SS - Messi
F - C.Ronaldo, Drogba

Surely theres someone better than Rab Carlos
Marcos Senna should just be as good a DMF but hes not, disappointed

only reason why I am asking, is because when my friends and I get together, we make custom teams up to batttle each other taking in turns for each player. Sometimes he gets the players that I want, for example almost always someone's first pick is C.Ronaldo, then either kaka or messi.

i usually pick a good team, but if I am the ;ast person to make a pick, I am usually left with the not so good players, especially find midfield hard to pick.

Alot of the times we cant be stuffed going through each team by team, looking for the good stat players.

you didnt mention Drogba, Van Nistelrooy and Totti, who all have very high stats in the game.

I used totti for a few games and I automatically made him my first choice striker now, he hardly ever missed any shots for some reason, evern from far outside the box, just when I thought distance shooting is impossible in pes09.

Totti is class but is slow & you have to rely on doing 1-2's with him but i agree that his shooting is awesome.

your right there, he is slow. But I also found his posession of the ball is awsome, when my friend use to defend me when I was in his half with other strikers, I found that I could lose the ball easily. But with totti, my friends were getting real pissed off that he was so hard to get the bal off, I dont know must be his body balance, mentality or soemthing koz he is pretty slow.

Torres is slightly underrated in this game, "Kun" Aguero in my opinion has better stats. David Villa is prolly also underrated.

And I found that messi is only really good at one thing in the game, dribbling and speed.

With only one striker you need a strong post player up front. Ruud is perfect for this, and has probably the best shooting stats of all strikers. 96 acc!

It depends though doesnt it all on what kind of game you want to play, if you want strikers that can just run past defenders and have a fairly good shto you want players like torres and eto, if you want to skilfully pass around an opponent and have a definate finish on you you will want players like Van Nistelrooy and Gilardino ( yes he is a great box finisher)
same with wingers, figo is technically brilliant but he can not out muscle and pace people like c.Ronaldo so the best players depend on the type of game.

But having said all that Ronaldinho should be in everyones best team as his controll over the ball and dam right sexyness when moving on it is matched by none! :happy:

yeah and they even fully lowered dhino stats this pes. Last pes he was over 90 attak, this version he is 86 I think.

i know it is embarassing as there are not many players who can do what he can and that should be reflected in his stats!

Now my friend unlocked all classic teams and alot of the other classic players. Man is there a difference with really high stat players, I use C.Ronaldo and Weah forward line, and I dominate. My friends switched to 5 man defence because of how easy it is to break thru defence with these 2 forwards.

Also I using STAM at the back, and man is he solid as a rock. He doesnt have much speed, but he makes the defence totally impermeable.

I just finally signed Cavenaghi & he is a very good striker, good in the air & quite strong on the ball & a great finisher, his stats may not be the best but i think a player like him is overlooked quite often, signed him as back up for Pato in my AC Milan team.
Finally got rid of Ronaldinho, off loaded him to AEK Athens who stumped up 25K for him, they didnt have to ask me twice for that one!!!

S/AMF: Zidane, Platini, Zico, Matthaus, Maradona, Cryuff, Bergkamp, CRonaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Socrates (there are tons of others, this is my personal selection!)
SS/CF: Van Basten, Ronaldo (the proper one), Romario, Batistuta, Klinsmann, R.Baggio, Weah, Puskas, Eusebio, Pele, RVN, Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Shevchenko, Drogba

There are so many more to put in really, but these are the absolute best of the bunch. Apart from probably Rivaldo, but I love him!
