These are just rumours at the moment..

*Vehicles will be in MW2
*M16 will return, using stopping power will only be OHK at head, neck, and torso (abdomen, limbs, and hands/feet will not)
*Ak47 and M4 will return, unknown if there are any changes
*M40 will return, ACOG damage boost will be fixed
*Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G360 will not return
*There are more unknown weapons that will not return
*New sniper rifle: SR25M (United states forces)
*New Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4 equivelant)
*New Assault rifle: L85A2 (United Kingdom forces)
*Total weapons in multiplayer are said to be around 35
*Favourite Modern warfare 1 maps will return
*Helicopters, air strikes, UAV will return
*Red dot sightings will come in different shapes for multiplayer (circular, square, original)
*Snipers will have special grass camouflage (As seen in Modern warfare 1’s campaign)
*All perks will return from MW except eavesdrop and others will be altered
*All gametypes will return from MW and all will have hardcore versions
*New gametype: Secure (Call of duty version of capture the flag, however you capture the enemy’s Intel)
*New gametype unconfirmed name, similar to search and destroy, however instead of trying to plant a bomb, you try to kill a specified enemy

*There are NO bots in local multiplayer

Didn't realise this thread, but this game is going to be something of truly epic proportions. The camoflauged sniper rifle alone is making my mouth water. Myself and one of my mates loved sniping, it was completely different to a lot of the running and gunning. With sniping a lot of it was about patience, accuracy and also outsmarting the opponent, the whole element of stealth-play was great and felt so sneaky.

Shame about vehicles making an appearance though, hopefully they will be optional online, otherwise they could certainly ruin the balance of the matches.

The new guns are definitely a welcome addition, I loved the previous weapons but if I loved them that much I would just go back and play COD4. Change is good in some respects and weapons is absolutely up there, especially considering the game is based around modern technology.

One thing they must include, is a perk allowing you to have two attachments, such as silencer + red dot sight. To make it fair maybe it could take up two perks or something - but it seems a good idea.

I guess that's why it's labelled a "teaser" though, to try and make us look for clues as to what the game may involve. It's similar with the very first few GTAIV trailers, it didn't give a great deal away, and only lasted around 30 seconds, but the hysteria they all caused was amazing. Especially the first trailer, when that was released, there was thousands of people posting up their views on the internet of what maybe included and why. GTAIV worked it perfectly, but I don't think Infinity Ward have give us quite as much to "work" on really, maybe the next trailer will give us a lot more (fingers crossed eh?).

That trailer looks great, really does make me want to play this game now. The airport and shanty town levels look immense, and I can imagine them being quality online, especially the shanty towns.

I just hope that the levels shown in that trailer will be available online, and are not just single player campaign levels. That would be disappointing no doubt.

Shame Activision game out today and announced the RRP for the game in the UK due to "poor exchange rates" will be £55 (roughly $90) for the BASIC version.

They can take their game and shove it. I only wanted it for the SP (I think the MP is a sprayfest, don't like it at all) so now it's a rental instead of a buy.

I so hope their UK sales suck so much - this is daylight robbery and it's bang out of order.

I hope he's trolling.

I'm not sure about that. 2 years ago when I was coming home from college, I went to GAME to buy Modern Warfare and it cost me £45. The thing that annoyed me was that it was for sale for £40 on their website.

They'll never retail the base version for £55 considering most sites are already taking pre-orders for £40-45 anyway. If it does retail for £55, I hope the game dies a significant death and is considered the biggest gaming fuck up of all time. How any company can charge £55 for a game is beyond me, and also claim it's only a £5 hike in price - no, in fact it's a £15 hike since all new games retail for a maximum of £39.99 up here unless it's in special packaging.

I always used to laugh when people would make petitions and "boycott" games, but this is different. I'm not paying £55, £50 or even £45. The greedy bastards have already announced there'll be two map packs too, (with more to follow, I imagine) so you're looking at paying £70 at least, for the full experience.

UK retailer HMV has secured an exclusive on the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. (Y'know, the one with the night vision goggles.) The chain's online store confirms availability of the title on November 10 at a price of £149 ($243). It's noted that the edition will be in limited availability, although the limit of three to a customer is quite generous for a collector's item.

We've also received word from a retail source that GameStop will carry the set exclusively in Ireland, where it will sell for €149 ($211)

The game will be released in three different editions: Regular, Hardened, and Prestige:

Robert Bowling confirmed to Kotaku that Fiddy will be supplying "one of many squad voices" featured in the game's multiplayer and Spec Ops modes. Cod:MW2 given 18 certificate.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has awarded Activision's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 an 18 certificate.

After reviewing 45 minutes of in-game footage from the highly-anticipated first-person shooter, the certification body opted to impose its strongest rating available.

In the sparse amount of information accompanying the ruling, the BBFC revealed that the game features around 40 minutes of storytelling cut scenes.

Previous game Call Of Duty: World At War secured a 15-rating from the BBFC, despite depicting strong scenes of soldiers being burned with flamethrowers.

One of the two online stores in my country are pricing it at B$88, which is approximately 38 quid.

I'm considering getting this game, but I think I'll wait until the end of the month. Hopefully one of my friends will buy it, so I can try out the online mode. Modern Warfare 1 was useless for me as I couldn't even play online.

Anyway, in the PS3 version, does it let you to choose the server? If it doesn't let you, does that mean that I have to play with the people near my region? Also, do they have servers spread throughout the world? I heard that the server for Modern Warfare 1 was only based in Europe.

Console bastards dragging us down again

Activision president Mike Griffith has spoken out in defence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, saying that the controversial decisions made around the PC version of the game were made in order to benefit the consumer experience as much as possible.

Those decisions include removing all dedicated servers and user-generated content, as well as halving the maximum number of players supported in the game.

"We're watching it very carefully and paying attention to it," said Griffith when asked in a conference call about what Activision thought of the player reaction against these changes and the 180,000-strong online petition.

He also claimed that the move to axe dedicated server support was one which would "improve the consumer experience overall by a significant margin", according to Kotaku.

"But we're not overly concerned about it...One of the problems with our PC SKUs in the past is that it has not been as friendly a consumer experience in terms of matchmaking and online play as the consoles have allowed it to be," he said.

Activision also reckons that the benefits of having a comparable system shared between PC and consoles, rather than having a seperate PC and console SKU, will far outweigh the negatives.

Oh, just a heads up, that very.co.uk site (with the code a few pages back) works with new users. I've pre-ordered 2 copies for £23.95 each with the code, I figure I can fetch around £37-42 on Ebay next weekend for them. So if anyone fancies using their parents card, or another address etc, then I'd advise doing so, that way you can get some cracking bargains, to keep or to sell for profit such as 12 mont Xbox Live memberships etc.

It ended up spreading into other threads though. The Game Organising thread was pretty much made specifically for Modern Warfare. I'm still awaiting the GTA 4 sub-forum to go, it's been out 20 months. :erm:

Anyway, I'm not even all that excited for the game. My XBOX has yet to arrive and so I haven't had a chance to play the new GTA. It's been sat there a week dying to be played. :crymore: Plus the price issue is still pissing me off a bit. Obviously there are ways to get it cheaper, and I will, but it's obvious that millions are going to buy it at full price which will see more games hiked in price. I probably shouldn't be buying it anyway as I have a shit load of work to do, but lols ohwell.

I considered it for 60 seconds and then for some reason I suddenly thought "no way" to both a sub-section and multiple threads. I'm yet to understand my reasons.

It might be that we should only have very special reasons for a sub-section or we'll end up with too many, particularly as a sub-section will never be removed. This would be a good reason to make one but something is telling me not to.

Just for the heads up, Sainsburys are selling Modern Warfare 2 for £26 while stocks last, only for release day I believe.

There's a load of Sainbury's around here, but I'm not sure how many of them actually do chart games.

I've just had a look on the site and the big one in Middlesbrough lists everything from CDs and DVDs to mobile phones and domestic appliances, but nothing about gaming. Hmm..

I've just found out the prices at Supermarkets in the UK:

Sainsburys: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3 and XBOX360) = £26

ASDA: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3 and XBOX360) = £32

Tesco: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3 and XBOX360) = £25 but only if you buy another newly released game with it...

Defo going to Sainsburys or ASDA to grab my copy of the game!
It's better than pre-ordering for around £45!
