I can see this thread dying fast given the lack of cricket followers on here. Latest news this morning is that the IPL will be taking place in its original format starting in under a month - but not in India.
South Africa and England are the front-runners for hosting the entire tournament but in classic fashion, CSA (Cricket South Africa) have been approached by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) whilst the ECB are hoping to hijack the situation.
Certain Indian states (or most of them depending on what you read) couldn't provide sufficient security forces due to voting in the general elections over the next month or two and what with recent events over that side of the world, compromising security was a concrete no-no.
Watched the vast majority of games last year and it was reallly entertaining so no doubt I'll take some days off work to watch games on TV in the glorious sunshine before our summer collapses later in the year.
Except I don't have Setanta anymore :faceplm:
Jonny? You there?
