Chickenfoot, the new band comprising ex-Van Halen-ers Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar-shredding legend Joe Satriani, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, have announced details of their first album. According to the NME the band's eponymous CD will be released on June 5 with track titles including "Sexy Little Thing", "Soap On A Rope," and "Down the Drain." The last two songs can also be heard on the band's myspace page. In an interview last year Hagar declared that Chickenfoot "could rival Zep." Personally, I suspect the man behind Cabo Wabo Tequila may have been getting a little too high on his own supply when he made that statement. But give the tracks a listen and tell us what you think.

You can listen to 2 tracks on their website

I think they're awesome, I'm definately getting the album.

They're also doing a gig in London on June the 25th which I'm going to try and get tickets to.

Fair enough..i went into hmv yesterday and picked up a copy..the guy who served me was saying he really liked it and that they had sold quite a few copies, i've managed to listen to it through a few times now and some of the songs are starting to get catchy. What you think to it??

Well me and you now , I love it personally, musically it's a great album lyrically though it does get a bit cheesy especially in Learning To Fall but overall it's my 2nd favourite album of 2009 so far, what do you think of it?

Yea i think its pretty good so far but like you said some of the lyrics are kind of cheesy  When is it that you go to see them? I'm going to graspop festival in a couple weeks so will hopefully catch them there.
