They introduced real dynamic lighting ( look at the self shadows , awesome ) and look at those rim lighting ...WOW . and the skin shader is real life looking not flat as PES2009

as a matter of fact i do think those are real gameplay graphics because most of the todays game has those ultra real look. think of mirrors edge , crysis etc and the human on those games look even more real life .. so its really possible to have that quality graphics on gameplay , may be the polycount of that screenshot is huge , may be the polycount wont be so high but it will definitely be close to that as Konami showed this as a screenshot of the game. hopefully more will come on days to come.

Think the picture is real but pretty sure it's not of in game footage. It'll be a cut scene or intro video. Games always do this - Show you a cut scene image so you get all excited and then the in-game graphics are nowhere near as detailed! :(

u r talking about early days games where pre game video and game was different. but today the ingame and pregame videos are almost identical ... see for example any big names ...

this is 100% pes2010 screen shot because :::::::

1.its not possible for a faker to make such a detailed 3d model of messi and pose it for pes2010. I work in 3d industry and i know how dificult it is to do so.

2.the style and the ambience is PES like which is awesome.

3. Konami has confirmed Messi's endorsement with it for this years PES2010 also and he will be their flagship bearer.

4.that star means the 9th edition of PES.

5.konami showed it in a news conference in australia tellign that its the ingame screen shot , may be its the ingame cutscene or watever but its certainly PES2010.

I agree - in particular the online gameplay. Konami have always delivered when it comes to graphics and player faces - compared to Fifa anyway. I will be more impressed when I hear something about the game which will enable PES to rival Fifa once again.

I had a go on PES2 and Fifa 04 on the PS2 last night and it's incredible how terrible Fifa 04 was; PES2 was much, much better and I think it was released a year earlier than Fifa 04. Hopefully PES can return to the top like Fifa did with Fifa 08 and 09.

That's one of the things that I've always appreciated about PES, the Faces always look the same. There's no cheating.. I hope it stays like that with PES 2010.

It's your opinion, I'm sure your not the only one.

As for the "face itself".. I can't really judge because Messi is celebrating a goal or something, and doesn't haves a straight face.

But IMO the 2010-Messi looks clearly better and more realistic than the 2009-Messi.

Maybe in normal conditions he will look more like Messi, as it is easier to have a spot-on face, but it is more difficult to mimick an individual's expressions.

look at the realism of the face of 2010 version. the 2009 version look so flat and got CG ( computer genarated) feel in it.. in pes 2009 the players skin are , in some places , got over exposed to light and became badly reflective .. seems like they fixed those problems and the player model now are more close to real life ...

LOL at the people saying it doesn't look like Messi ... If you look at the picture quickly it almost seems like its Messi on TV in real life.. If thats not Messi than I don't know what is ... and I watch all games of Barca I can assure you that it is Messi.
The only thing is he has a wide open mouth so he has a different facial structure from that so it might not seem like its him but if he had his mouth closed it would look exactly like he does with closed mouth.

Now imagine if his mouth would be closed and he would smile and had his eyes semi closed and head tilted abit towards the left like in the pic, it would look identical to him...

Carles Puyol hair looks like a piece of plastic glued to his head.. Pavel Nedved's hair isn't that bad, but there's no movement, it looks like a helmet for the most part.

They need to improve on this as it haves a very negative effect on the good job they did with the Faces.

Judging by the Messi Pic, the Hair looks much more realistic, I hope it not only "looks" realistic -but- also that it MOVES realistically.

I agree the hair isn't great, never really thought about it until recently when I was editing the classic 90's OF. And whats the story with mustaches? Seaman and Rush had more than a little stubble :)

Makes sense but I hope it doesn't happens with Pro Evo 2010.

I mean, FIFA looks great from "Wide" View angles, but the in-game faces are embarrassing... I know graphics aren't The priority, but if there's one thing that PES09 haves over FIFA09: the Faces.

And Konami knows this, so My Guess is that yeah "overall graphics are getting much better" -but- I don't think player Faces will "resemble the real-life counterparts even less in 2010".

There was a lot of feedback about PES09, most of it complained about the unplayable Online and the arcade-like movements... but fans always mentioned a few positives, and one of the Top Positives about PES09 is "player faces".

FIFA09 looks better from "Wide" angles -whereas- PES09 looks better from closer perspectives, because the players actually have realistic-looking faces.

Logically Konami will look to improve how their game "looks" from afar, but I don't think they will risk losing their appealing "player faces".

fifa faces suck they dont work in this part of their graphics because there are too many players, and they prefer the overall look of the game to be good but do not work on the players details, just checkout the uniforms theyre horrible and pes uniforms you can actually see little dots and good texture when you look close at them

put PES's grass in fifa and you get the worst graphics ever, but put fifas grass in pes and you get the best looking graphics(excluding the crowd)

fifas shirts arent bad except for the numbering, that is awful small and disproportionate. i dont think there is any question over the pic being real or fake, its real, its just wether its in game or not and i strongly believe it is merely a promo shot and not in game. they never release in game graphic shots first, there is always a few promo shots polished to perfection before hand.

not too sure why the face shaddows are there. there are floodlights in all 4 corners of the ground, the only shaddow should be on the pitch.

Look closely. In that pic the shorts hem further up Messi's thigh than last year, plus they hang as opposed to orbit it.
