View Full Version : New Admins - Vote Result

Vote values were 6 points for being listed as first, 5 for second etc. working back to 1 point for sixth. Votes from veterans were twice as valuable and votes from admins were three times as valuable.

Each member excluding the six still in the running will need to rank the candidates from 1 to 6 with 1 being the member they most believe to be deserving and suitable as an admin.

Some of you not only found the last part difficult but didn't even hide it well. As a result, your votes have been ignored. It should be noted that even with these votes, the ultimate result would not have changed.

The member finishing first was to become an admin automatically and the member in second would also become an admin automatically if finishing 10 points or more ahead of the third-placed member. If not, second to fourth were grouped and the winner would be the member with the highest number of points from admin votes. If level, this would drop down to points from votes made by veterans and then if equal again, points from votes made by other users. Had this have been equal all the way, Original?'s vote, as an outgoing administrator, would have been the decider with whichever member he placed higher getting the nod. He didn't know this. Anyway, the results are below:

Pts Admin Vet
Phatmann 232 36 74
Hunter 150 21 56
Papa 141 18 36
Joel 127 21 48
Baddar 118 24 30
Cookie 112 0 36

Phatmann won by virtue of earning the most points. Hunter, failing by one point to finish ten clear of Papa in third, ended up winning on the number of points earned from vets having been equal with Joel on points from admins.

Are you trying to be Italian? :chanlaugh:

Just a note to announce that Papa is now a mod of the PES area, taking Phatmann's former role. It was offered to Joel, who officially finished third due to that part of the system being activated, but he didn't feel he visited the area enough and is therefore waiting in the wings for another mod position to come up.

That again is something I'd decided with this vote - third place was always going to be offered a mod role if Phatmann or Baddar was made an admin, it was all close enough and the member wasn't already a mod and if it was close enough, that'd be extended to the member finishing fourth as well.

Is it? Baddar and Phatmann have been mods there for a long time so I'd be pretty shocked if it has been as bad as your terminology suggests.

I probably could have done a bit more for the PES section but I'd say Baddar had it well under control and still does.

Whenever I read some of the threads, I just think sometimes petty arguments are allowed to run for too long, sometimes they aren't even about PES any more. Some people can get very angry over their opinions. The job done by Baddar and Phatmann was good and the new appointment of Trevi and now Papa should help it as well.

I see what you're getting at as the arguments do tend to get quite heated in there, though I believe Baddar, Phats and Trevi have managed to keep it under control well enough and I'll certainly try to help out. :)

Congrats to the new admins and moderator ;)

Cheers.

Also, while I'm here, I was wondering why there's no mod of the Football Forum area?

I think us admins frequent it enough so there not to be a need for a mod.

Just kidding, yeah that makes sense.

Unfortunately as much as it pains me but I've been converted to FIFA.

It's going to take a sprinkle of God's semen on PES 2010 to convert me back I feel.

I think it's going to take a sprinkle of God's semen to convert me back to football games period. I played PES 2009 for a few months before becoming bored, I then bought FIFA 09 about 2 months ago. I was really enjoying it, but it still felt somewhat sloppy in key areas such as shooting and it was definitely obvious that some of the shots were pre-determined (I hit the exact same shot in the Arena about 10 times when I tried). To me, at the moment, football games are in dire need of help. Although FIFA is headed in the right direction, the gameplay is still shite compared to previous PES titles on the PS2 which says a hell of a lot.

Apologies for taking this off-topic a bit further, but the truth of the matter is that both FIFA and PES are shite. One is prettier and the other one has better ball physics, yet they're both awful in their own rights. I didn't enjoy either. PES animations are pathetic, and FIFA's game-play is still retarded. The ball still feels like you're spitting it out, when you pass and shoot.
I probably could have done a bit more for the PES section but I'd say Baddar had it well under control and still does.
Take note, people. He's admitting he was a little incompetent.

You didn't apply according to this post
The nine candidates were (in order of applying); Papa, Hunter, Joel, Trevi, Phatmann, Cookie, Baddar, uA - 1905 and Guillermo.

I've decided to omit Trevi, uA - 1905 and Guillermo from the voting process and if any of the three would like reasons, they can ask here or PM me. Voting will begin tomorrow but the bet will be going up momentarily and will close before the voting commences. Details of the voting procedure will be posted in the betting thread.

Considering the average age in the PES area is about 15, I tend to let some things go longer than others.

If I closed every thread that had some sort of petty argument going on in it, we'd have about 4 threads in PES discussions. >_>

Yeah, it's important to be a bit lenient in the PES area as it's the first place the majority of new members will visit - and some never leave it - so if you were to close threads due to arguing or book/ban members for the same reason, it's likely that fewer members will return. Having said that, PESFan seems to get plenty of members despite their ridiculously overly strict policies.
