View Full Version : Friday Night with Jonathan Ross
It's about time we had a thead for this show as it's definitely worthy of one.
The show tonight features Ewan McGregor, Ben Stiller and Eminem - enough reason to tune in. It is starting now.

Ben Stiller did Blue Steel. :D
Haha that was most definately Magnum, Dragonfly!
Looks like Em will only be getting 5-10 minutes of interview time. Lame.
Isn't this his first time on a British chat show? You'd think they'd give him a bit more screen time.

Seems like they're all getting around 10 minutes each. Bit silly really considering they're such huge names, you would think they'd be booked in seperate weeks so the interviews could be more in depth and interesting. Definitely a shame in that respect. Imagine a show with just Ewan McGregor and Ben Stiller, both with 25 minute interviews each. A show with Tom Hanks and Eminem, both with 25 minute interviews each - it would be truly quality.
They need to get it better organised in that respect.
I can imagine Eminem being a difficult interviewee. Have you ever tried interviewing someone that doesn;t want to be interviewed? It's hard work.

The Miley Cyrus interview was pretty good. I'm gutted to miss the Dizzee Rascal one last week.
Is Eminem stoned?

Jonathan did a good job, it wasn't bad.

Simply just click it to watch it in HQ and then Part 2/3 in the Related Videos section.

It is hard work indeed, from personal experience - you literally want to just finish the interview there and then. However Eminem was a decent interviewee in all honesty, and represented himself well. I was expecting Jonathan Ross to ask about Proof but I'm guessing he was told not to. It's a shame not seeing Proof as the hypeman anymore, but I guess that's life.
Talking about difficult interveiws, I remember he had Kanye on the show and there was a part where it seemed as though it had been cut after Kanye said something.

Lady Gaga was like that too.

Lets face it, this show is for the best part shit and Jonathan Ross is an annoying fat cunt. I used to like him and the show, but the quality of guests and him also have gone downhill in recent times. It really disgusts me how he can have Tom Hanks on along with three of those Loose Women malignant cunts, it is just embarrassing.
It's a shame that this is the only chat show in Britain thesedays. Obviously I'm not counting things like the Charlotte Church show or whatever that Lily Allen programme was because they're shite and no self respecting human would willing go on. It pains me when I see household names resort to going on GMTV or Paul O'Grady just to spread the word on their latest work.

Marcus Brigstocke should get a primetime chat show; he's a very good host and interviewer, as seen on I've Never Seen Star Wars. Then again, it'd be hard to compete with Jonathan Ross who has seemed to master the chat show genre as such and I'd rate him higher than most American hosts - bar Letterman of course.

Where do you stand on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart Mike?

I haven't seen a lot of the Daily Show but what I have seen is brilliant. It's not a straight up chat show though is it? From what I remember it has some sketches and stuff in too like The Colbert Report, whereas from what I've seen of Letterman he interviews 2 celebrities, has a band on and has several other parts like The Top 10. Although admittedly I only really get to see Letterman on youtube these days so I tend to only see the interviews. The Daily Show is on some channel over here like More 4 or something which I don't tend to check.
:chanlaugh: I like it even more after seeing this on the Daily Show website:
"Dear Great Britain,
We're terribly sorry, but full episodes of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart are not available.
But please don't send any Red Coats in retaliation at this time, as you CAN get your headlines at Channel 4."

:D
Stewart usually mocks the news or one of his side-kicks does a report on that, then near the end of the show he receives a guest, usually there to promote a movie/book. I suppose you could call it more a satirical news programme.
John Oliver is probably the best of the correspondants :D

I'm not mad keen on Jonathon Ross to be fair I only ever watch it if somebody I care about is on there but even then Wossy tries to hog their limelight. I remember Shirley Ghostman on there, incredible
I usually watch it but he's went downhill, terrible clashing of decent respected people in their profession mixed with useless cunts from daytime TV.
Has anyone seen Film 200? with Jonathon Ross he rips into a film then the week after has the lead on the show and praises the film i know he's there to sweeten them up but blatant lying it's typical no balls shit the BBC create.
Also half the guests on his show are in the same Agency as him, and having Gervais and the Welsh cunt on each series of it gets fucking tedious.

I watch it as often as I can, very disappointed with last nights show, all really people who deserved longer time for interviews, 10 minutes didn't do them justice.
Dizzee Rascals was great the other week.

That insult was both shite and childish, you boy are a complete waste of space and your seed should be wiped from the face of the earth.
Arshavin77 0-1 mufcsean (just in case we're keeping score).
Dizzee's show was good though, and you could tell he considered it an achievement and therefore treated it with respect. Not to mention his performance afterwards was entertainment, he put more effort into his set than most other artists do. I think I'll watch Tom Hank's interview tonight since I missed it last week, and of course it was apparently quality too.

2-0, I also wiped the floor with him in Member Wars
And I have to agree, both Dizzee's interview and performance were great, the interview more so as it is very rare that you see somebody, who let's face it is quite big in this country be so pleased to be on a show like that, the whole of his interview was very well done.
How cringeworthy is JR though with rappers and black people on the whole, he says some right stupid stuff.
Yeah he does, saying 'Word' to Kanye made me laugh though, Kanye's expression was brilliant.
I thought he had a sensible enough talk with JayZ, though whenever Ross wanted to talk about Beyonce, he just didnt. 50 Cent was an interesting one too, he wasn't too up front but quite relaxed.
Eric Cantona is on tonight, he's currently interviewing Hugh Lawrie.
Cantona!!
The interview with Hugh Laurie was great.
The piano
Oh this should be interesting.

I think my thread said everything that needed to be said about Ditto.
The sooner that fat cunt gets gutted the better. Other than that it was an alright show.
Thank christ I missed Ross this week with Cantona and Ditto. Whos on this week?
