Just been on Twitter and saw that PSM3 Are typing their "thoughts" having played the game, which probably means that WENB have played it and we'll be hearing something later on.
"PES 2010: played. Typing up thoughts today. It's going to be interesting to see what people think…"
Hmmm Now is it me or does that have a slightly negative slur?
We should use this thread to discuss any hands on reviews that crop up. When they are posted online, lets post them here and discuss.

You're right, that sounds extremely like disappointment.

Thinking about it, I imagine we wont hear anything about these play tests until PSM3 Mag is released, perhaps they have exclusivity. But if they have signed NDA's - the post seems fairly neutral from that point of view.
It does sound more negative than anything else. If they were blown away by the game I reckon it would be more something like:
""PES 2010: played. Typing up thoughts today. Can't wait to tell people what we thought..."
or something like that. I'm DEFINITELY going to buy fifa this year, just like last year. Last year I bought PES09 as well, like every year I get both, it's up to Seabass and gameplay movies to convince me in getting pes10, otherwise it's just fifa for me this year.
^Gameplay movies aren't really enough to convince you to not buy the game. You ned to try it to decide. Although gameplay movies do influence.:)
Anyway, we still must wait and see. At least for some gameplay movies.

wenb have had their playtest, not much info except the following:
OK guys just finished playing the game.
Embargo, like the FIFA 10 one, ends July 15th. So certainly PSM3 will be vital.
I can't say too much, but what I will say is this, me and Suff are happy :)
Won't be back until midnight, catch you then!

Is there any date set yet on the release of the demo?

Well, at least those comments look very positive.

^Yeah, but keep in mind that they were very positive last year too.
Of course, I still like PES 09, so I'm not complaining.
:)Looks positive to say the least.

Yeh, when will the demo be released, and the fact that they have played it, dopes it mean that they have finished the game?
So what if experts give positive/negative reviews? It doesn't necessarily suit your taste. I remember IGN giving PES 08 a 9.2 and saying it was a better game than FIFA but as we all know, it wasn't the game that we craved for.
I'm not going to take anything for granted and be judgemental but instead, try the game for myself, then only can I give a proper verdict.
^Excactly, but the people who played it at WENB were pleased so it must mean something positive to begin with. :)

Well, I want to read some full hand-on reviews before I can be fully convinced but, I can only hope it's great.
Unfortunately, not one of us is going to believe any previews or reviews, since the last two years we all thought the game would be awesome just to be bitterly dissapointed. Even the gameplay footage last year had me convinced. Eveything depends on the demo...and DON"T EVEN START WITH THE "IT"S NOT THE FINAL BUILD CRAP"...last year everybody said it too, just to see that the differences between the demo and final build were minimal.

That's not how I remember it last year. If anyone said that they weren't properly informed because it was common knowldge that the demo was pretty damn close to the final build. Fifa's demo however was much different from the final version. Personally I don't put a lot of faith in anything until I've played the real game for myself, but you see and hear these things which can't be ignored.
For example, the facts so far are:
- They are making a bigger effort this year, including more staff.
- Lots of important but small changes, like CL in ML, etc.
- Game looks great visually from what we've seen so far.
- Online is apparently fixed, or if not it seems clear that they understand that it needs to be.
So... Lots of positives, but I agree in that until we see the final game all these improvements could just be icing on the cake, and add up to nothing if the gameplay's no good.
^AGREED. I am also seeing that Konami are making more effort for the game this year. It's a good thing.

1) Putting CL in ML is not a major change, thats just common sense and it would prolly take konami about 3 secs to implement that, so that doest count as a big change for a game thats supposedly be in the making for years
2) Graphics: Seriously now, were you lot playing fifa years ago, the graphics were better than pro.....oh yeah but the gameplay was shite, take note, graphics, dont, mean, jack, shit, gameplay does.
3) If they fixed online they will satisfy alot of people, thats a proper change.
To sum up, I do not consider these to be great changes, AI, Player animations, Player movement, those are the real changes that will matter.

PES had better graphics on last gen. As for graphics in general, they are important to making a game good. This is next gen, anything mediocre isn't going to cut it.

PES looks better closer up, from a distance fifa looks better, and i expect that to be the same for the up and coming games also. Having said that, that is not a big issue.
The issue is, PES is now for noob stars, back in the pes2 days, you had to play some degree of actual football, you cant take eto' and run through entire teams and score as seen online, the game is watered down arcade garbage and doesnt represent anything remotley like a real life game, its just 22 idiots rushing around the pitch mindlessly chasing after the ball, games are very end to end, the AI is crazy, player animations are shocking the list goes on.... thats what needs changing.

hit the nail right on the head ,the reason i liked pes in the first place ,was because if i was controlling someone with a right foot ,i knew i had to get him on his right foot to play an accurate pass or decent shot ,now every player seems to be two footed ,they can dribble from end to end with riddiculous ease ,but can they FUDGE pass to each other
i better stop now ,otherwise this will turn into an 8 page rant

you two got it right imo. i really miss the feeling of accomplishment id get from scoring a goal in pes5.. i mean.. i remember practically raging after scoring a 25 yard belter in that game.
i think the simulation needs to be brought back, just like you two said, it feels so much like an arcade fifa game.
For me, just bring back the good gameplay and revamp the master league.

Maybe PES 09 has better graphics, but the player movements are horrible,so unrealistic.Player animations and movements are much better in FIFA 09.
From what I've seen in trailer we will have the same gameplay in PES 2010,which will be very dissapointing.I don't know what they're doing with Messi at motion cap sessions, maybe they're drinking some cofee, because Messi run like my granpa in trailer.
Konami use motion cap but still the player movements are crap.
PS:I'm a PC player,if I would have XBOX360 I would choose FIFA imediatly.

Info leaked from OPM Play test:
The latest Official PlayStation Magazine is due to hit July 7th, some of the information in it that will get the community excited is:
- Option to give players untucked shirts is back
- Mo Cap session by Messi means a wealth of new animations incorporated
- Master League: Champions League and Europa League intergration and real currency
No doubt these minor changes will have some people very excited on here!
Info leaked from OPM Play test:
From the mag itself:

One of Pro-Evo 10's new additions is a tactical system that developer Konami is calling Power Gauge... Head into your Team Setup menu and you'll find sliders for specific tactics named, Defensive Line, Pressure Level, Attacking Style, Possession Switch and Receiving Position.
We've heard whispers that the revamped Master League mode will incorporate both the Champions League and Europa League (the new name for the UEFA cup) this year - and that it'll use real money rather than it's traditional PES points currency
Source - came through my door in the post today!

the proof is in the pudding ladies and mentalmen pro evo now has different aspects that attire to us all, i never complain about pro evo even if i do get frustrated i just think if it were a real game etc etc.....
basically we all like diff things about each series and along with some of you wont be fooled into "too good to be true" promises i will make my own judgment untill i get the game through my letterbox!
^Well yeah, but WE ALL WANT A REALISTIC GAME. I think that's the aim here.

Just got PSM3 the PES 2010 feature is ten pages long from a glance here's what they say has been improved
More focused commentary
More Balanced refs and 'advantage' rule
Lots of extra player specific goal celebration
Revised penalty system which offers more control
Much better goalkeepers
No more Konami ID. its now hosted on Sony's servers (on the PS3 version of course)
Heres things they have removed
Al no longer makes automatic tackling/shooting decisions
Players no longer freeze after freekicks
No 'simple' settings menu in tactics. Your key changes are made with sliders

Man Utd and Liverpool are the licensed teams from the Premiership again this year. Anfield is also in the game!
Full Spanish, French, Italian and........ GERMAN leagues!
The full team rosters are to be confirmed (ie the other leagues section: Rangers, Celtic, Spartak Moscow etc...)
Another snippet people might like to know is that when EA's contract expires with the Premierleague, they might decide to share the licence with Konami. This is by no way confirmed, just a possibility.
There's an interview with one of Konami's guys and they're asked about the licences and he said that "ALL UEL (Europa League) Qualified teams"...... So more than just Man Utd and Liverpool from the Prem then???

I think real currency is strangely popular addition. I never really cared, because the points was actually money. All you had to do is imagine there was three zeros at the end and 1,000 points becomes £1,000,000. It was never an issue for me, but it is more realistic to have real currency.
I'm just hoping for more fluid gameplay, which was lost in 2009.
