Anyone Pre-ordered PES 2010? [Archive]

I have!!! :shocking:

I was thinking about waiting until both Fifa & PES come out and comparing reviews and demos but I know I'm gonna at least try PES again this year so I've pre-ordered it.

It was £29.85 on Shopto.net and I can't see me getting it any cheaper than that when it comes up to release in Oct.

Anyone else done the same or are you waiting for reviews and more details?

I'm gonna wait until the demo is out,because if PES 2010 won't have major changes in gameplay I don't wanna spend my money for a patched PES 2009.

I know what you mean Pantilimon and I fear that too but the news from Konami so far has made me a little more optimistic :)

The most frustrating thing for me about PES 2009 was the complete lack of effort on the Masters League. It sounds like PES 2010 is finally going to have a major overhaul of the ML though which is the mode I play most by far.

I will be interested to see how PES 2010 does compared to Fifa 10 on the reviews front though? Critics seemed to wet themselves over Fifa 09 and slate PES 2009 which I thought was a tad unfair. PES 2009 def deserved some criticism but Fifa 09 was far from perfect!!

Good thread mate.

After receiving the last PES late in the post (my brother pre-ordered it for me as a birthday gift), I was convinced I wouldn't pre-order a game again...until possibly now. I'd rather go out and buy it on release day in the shops, but the chances are it would cost me about another £10 so I think I might just pre-order PES 2010 from ShopTo sometime in the next couple of weeks. You can't really argue with £29.85 can you afterall?

I'm just wondering now whether other people have had pre-order experience with ShopTo, and if they're reliable enough, because I always hear of people getting their games a day or so early when pre-ordering - but I never know where these pre-orders are from.

I've ordered PES 2008, and 2009 from Shopto and recieved 08 a day early and 09 on the day I believe. Does depend on where you live I suppose.

I ordered PES 2009 from Shopto Hunter and it arrived two days early!! I couldn't believe it :)

I'd never pre-ordered a game b4 so I was well shocked. I think the official release date was 19th Oct 2008 and mine arrived on 17th.

Only problem with Shopto is that you have to sign for the delivery, so if you're at work make sure you get it delivered to that address as I missed mine at home and had to collect it from the post office :no:

it depends what game it is mate...usually doesn't work out cheaper in pes 2010 status it just means that you have secured your copy and you may get it early....i order mine from play.com and i usually get the game on wed/thur before the game hits the stores..

That was about a month after it was released cryingGallas. Cheapest I found it for pre-release last year was £32.99 off Shopto. It'll be £34.99 at cheapest in most shops I reckon this year. Some even have the cheek to charge £39.99 which is basically robbery as far as I'm concerned!!

For PES 2009 I went into GAME to buy it since I knew they'd have plenty of stock, and I paid the usual high GAME price of £39.99. As I walked out of GAME, across the way was HMV with a big self-made poster advertising PES 2009 for £37.99. I know it's only £2 difference, but I face palmed at the thought of me somehow missing this gigantic poster and paying a little more as a result.

I think I'll pre-order from ShopTo this year though, you can't really argue for £29.85, and I'd be surprised if any shops in the UK sell it for anything less than £32.99.

Just wondering, why don't you cancel your PES 2010 order from Play and pre-order with ShopTo? I'm no genius but £29.85 sounds more appealling than £39.99.

I pre-ordered PES 2010 with Play.com.. I checked ShopTo, but I am not sure whether their promotion is only valid for the UK? I got quoted GBP 39 or so and I am based in the Netherlands..

Can anyone confirm this?

EDIT: never mind: it appears that the currency changes on the website, based on the country where you are based. The promo is also available for countries outside of the UK. I just pre-ordered with ShopTo and cancelled my order with Play.com..

Just check the website and create a profile. While setting up your profile, you can select your country. If your country (Cyprus) is not in the drop down menu, they cannot deliver to this country.

I'm pretty sure Shopto deliver to the whole of Europe StaVriS92. I think you have to pay for overseas delivery but I'm pretty sure they do it. Check their terms and conditions on their website to make sure though.

i cancelled my pre order from shopto last year as i decided i wasn't getting it and then asda put an advert in the paper the day before release selling it for £27. suprise suprise there i was at 8am hovering about asda with a few other shifty looking blokes hanging about on our own waiting for the media bit to open. i'll probably wait and see if the same happens this year

Man Argos were doing a pre-order deal a few days ago where the price was £29.50 and if you put in the code 'GAME20' they take 20% off. So that was going to be around £23.50 approx. But I've just checked and they have put the pirce up to £35. Those bastards!

Up until PES2009 i had always pre-ordered them as ive been a fan of the series since i can remember but after getting PES2008 on the 360(RIP my 360), thinking...'yes! finally next gen PES time!' and obviously realising it was absolutely shite, trading it in for a PS2 copy, realising that wasnt very good either(although better than the 360 version lol), i found myself doubting Konami rather than trusting them to produce an reasonably improved game worthy of a pre-order. When it came to PES2009 i waited until id played the demo to even think about it, thought that was decent enough but i wasnt overwhelmed to buy it tbh so didnt pre-order. In the end i think i waited a week or something and actually ended up trading in a couple of my out jammed PS3 games and got it for no real pain to the pocket. Instantly i felt happy to be jammin on a new PES but the novelty soon wore off after i started to realise i had bought a ropey version of PES6 imo, just with better graphics, a flawed BAL mode and a cover & disc saying PES2009. I decided i would no longer pre-order these games unless it was a seriously sweet deal or there had been some big improvements that had been officially confirmed by independant reviewers as i no longer trust Konami's pre-release jibba jabba.
To be fair, if i coulda pre-ordered it for PS3 at £23.59 im pretty sure i woulda gone for it tbh as i woulda got best part of that back if the game wasnt up to scratch and i wanted to trade it in or stick it on ebay. Unfortunately that deal seems to no longer exist from what CryingGallas has said so it looks like im just gonna wait until its out and see what the fans have to say unless another awesome deal comes along etc.

I also pre-ordered from argos for £23.59 BARGAIN whether it be rubbish or good. But im veru optimistic it will be good as they had promised a completely new engine.

Anyway the main reason that bugged me about 2009 was how SLOW everything was. For instance on a 50/50 to get the ball after a challenge had been made on you, Your player would stall for a fair few seconds before reacting. That was the main problem for me. Aswel as online gaming mode being probably the worst out there.

Another thing i hope in 2010 series is, NO MORE LOOP HOLE GOALS..as in no more tap ins or a goal you can score over and over again easily. Thats not what makes PES. Thats what you call FIFA. So lets hope pes out does fifa this year.

I've pre-ordered this time as although PES2009 wasn't amazing, it was an improvement on PES2008. Last year I bought it from a shop which happened to release it a day early. I'm still getting it whatever as its the only decent footy game on the PC, FIFA on the PC is worse than PES2008.

Ordered it from ShopTo.Net for £17.85 as last year, quite a few people on here got their PES2009 2 or 3 days early.

I didn't pre-order it last year, I bought it from a local shop the day before release for £17.00. I've pre-ordered PES2010 for £17.85 (PC version).

I've ordered it from Play.com, as I did last year. Bearing in mind I've only pre-ordered that one title from them, I'd still recommend them - £18 for the PC version and last year mine arrived the day before release day, which was a surprise since delivery's free. Still, I have only pre-ordered from them the once, so I'm basing this on just one experience.

I just ordered it off Argos there now, but it says they will phone me on 2nd November which I'm concerned about as it comes out in October, and I want it when it comes out, if I'm only getting it on 2nd November I'm cancelling it.:realmad:

play use to be awesome with preorders and general orders but now they seem to take longer and longer to post. never had any problems with shopto and most of their prices beat play these days. i would consider getting it on PC but 2009 didnt run smoothly despite my specs being more than adequate.

anyways i wont be preordering this year, usually PES's last me till the next release but 6, 2008 and 2009 have all got fairly boring after 5months or so. not to mention 2008 and 2009 came down in price so damn quickly. 2 weeks after selling it at £40 play reduced it for a week to £25 and asda knocked it down into the 20s aswell. i say this now, but as soon as some vids come out i will prolly get all hyped up and preorder.
